RACE DAY REPORTS

THERE WERE NO FALSE RAILS.

RACE NO 1 (25) - THE IBIZA PLATE :  (About) 1200 Metres. Runners - 7

At the start, EYE OF THE STORM (A.M.Tograllu) jumped out awkwardly.

On questioning, App N.S.Parmar (BENEDICTUS) stated that his Instructions were to be in 3rd or 4th position but he found his mount too keen in the early part of the race and the gelding had hit the front and he did not want to disappoint his mount, hence he rode from where he found himself.

NURAI (C.S.Jodha) lugged-in in the straight and later on took the rightful running of LAMPARD (App.P. Trevor) who was forced to change course. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

After the race, NURAI was found to be sound.

RACE NO 2  (26) – THE DOUBLE DAN PLATE : (About) 1800 Metres. Runners - 5

TARA (P.Belose)  jumped out slow, losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

Trainer Magansingh P Jodha and Jockey P Belose were questioned regarding the running and riding of TARA. The Instructions to the Jockey were to ride a waiting race, take her out in the straight and ride out. The Jockey stated that he had made his move at the top of the straight to come from the outside but was hampered when LUSTY (D.K.Ashish) and GREEN SIGNAL (M.Narredu) shifted on to him and then again passing 200 metres, LUSTY (D.K.Ashish) again shifted in and took his ground. It was put to the Jockey that soon after entering the straight there was a gap on the inside of LUSTY and he should have taken that gap. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha opined that the Jockey had ridden a bad race but it was not mala-fide. The matter was reported to the Stewards.

The Stewards interviewed Trainer Magansingh P Jodha and Jockey P Belose and having viewed the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey P.Belose and held him guilty of riding an incompetent race. Therefore, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 7th August, 2010 to 8th August, 2010 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work).

Soon on entering the straight, LUSTY (D.K.Ashish) shifted out under use of the whip and jostled with GREEN SIGNAL (M Narredu) and passing 200 metres, shifted in under the use of the whip due to which Jockey P.Belose (TARA) had to shift outwards. The matter was reported to the Stewards for such action as deemed fit.

The Stewards interviewed Jockey D.K.Ashish and having viewed the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and held him guilty of riding an incompetent race and also tendering false and misleading evidence before the Stewards. Therefore, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 7th August, 2010 to 8th August, 2010 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work).  Further, he was severely cautioned for the future.

At the request of Trainer Karthik G., STAR PRESENTATION was examined at 1030 hours on 21/07/2010 and found to be sore by the left hind leg, as such, the gelding was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

An Objection was lodged by Jockey S.Sunil, Rider of WEIZHOU, placed 3rd by the Judge against App.S Zervan, Rider of CLARION CALL, Winner, for coming on to him and tightening him and then taking his ground whereby his mount clipped the hind heels of CLARION CALL and stumbled, passing 200 metres, which cost him the race.  After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned as also Trainer Dallas Todywalla, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over rule the Objection.

The Stewards interviewed App.S.Zervan, who was accompanied by his Master, Mr. P Shroff, for dangerous riding, and having heard the submissions made and viewing the video recording of the race were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Apprentice S.Zervan and decided to suspend his Apprentice Jockey’s License w.e.f 7th August 2010 to 15th August 2010 (both days inclusive) for dangerous riding on his mount CLARION CALL.
