RACE DAY REPORT
RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION. RAILS WERE PLACED 6 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.
RACE NO.1 (119) – THE COMMANDER TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 6
AMADEO (Mukesh Kumar, dr.4) planted in the stall thereby taking no practical part in the race. As such, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in Mock Race, before next accepting to race.
After the race, the V.O. reported the following:
OPUS DEI was observed to have injuries on both its hind fetlocks.
SCARAMOUCHE was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on both its hind fetlocks. Subsequently, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, endoscopy was performed on the gelding at the saddling enclosure and no abnormality was found.
RACE NO.2 (120) – THE JAYANT M. SHAH & CHAMPAK M. SHAH GOLD TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2400 METRES – RUNNERS - 6
ESCONIDO (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3) lost about two lengths at the start.
After the race, ESCONIDO and VIKING were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3 (121) – THE PUNE POLICE COMMISSIONER'S TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
STARSEED (T. S. Jodha) was observed to be sporting a snaffle bit in the paddock whereas the colt was declared to run in a Rubber D Bit. As such, Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy has been fined Rs. 1,000/- for her lapse.
CINDERELLA’S DREAM (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.2) lost about a length at the start.
Soon after the start, EKLA CHOLO (Amyn Merchant) leaned in onto EL MORAN (P. Trevor) thereafter EKLA CHOLO continued to lean in thereby tightening EL MORAN. Jockey Amyn Merchant has been cautioned.
After the race, JOONDALUP was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As such, the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O, before next accepting to race.
After the race, the V.O. reported the following:
EL MORAN was trotted and found to be sound.
ELEVEN ELEVEN was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4 (122) – THE JIMMY UMRIGAR TROPHY-DIVISION- I: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 5
Trainer M. Narredu has been fined Rs.5,000/- for failing to declare his charge ALL FOR LOVE in this race after having accepted with her.
On a request from Trainer Faisal A. Abbas, BRAVO ZULU was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 10:15 a.m. on 12th October 2025 at the stables and was found to have swellings on both her hind legs above the fetlock. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race, was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
On the way to the starting gates, SEMURG (Amyn Merchant) dislodged its rider and got lose, since the horse had run the entire course, with the due consent of Trainer Himmat Singh, the filly was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Himmat Singh has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
In the process of stalling GOLD BAR (C. S. Jodha, dr.5) was fractious, thereafter reared up and fell and refused to be stalled, hence the filly was permitted to be withdrawn before come Starter’s order. In view of the above and a similar behavior of the filly in her previous outing, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give his more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Soon after the start, CARADOC (P. Trevor) racing between AMAZE AND INSPIRE (Mukesh Kumar) and ALFONSINE (K. Sai Kiran) was tightening for room.
Approaching the 200 meters, ALFONSINE (K. Sai Kiran) leaned in thereby tightening and inconveniencing EXCITING (Vivek G.) causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey K. Sai Kiran has been cautioned.
After the race, EXCITING was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5 (123) – THE NOSHIR & DOLLY DHUNJIBHOY SPRINT MILLION (GRADE 3: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
DUBAI PRINCESS (K. Nazil, dr.2) lost about a length at the start.
At the start, MARKET KING (N. S. Parmar, dr.3) was observed to have lost its footing and stumble.
Passing the 600 metres, MAGILETO (P. Trevor) leaned in onto MARKET KING (N. S. Parmar) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening CONSTABLE (A. Prakash) racing along the rails. After questioning all concerned, Jockey P. Trevor has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 150 metres, CHRISTOPHANY (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out under pressure and made contact with DUBAI PRINCESS (K. Nazil).
After the race, CHRISTOPHANY was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. As such, the mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, the V.O. reported the following:
MARKET KING was observed to have an injury on its right hind bulb of heel.
DREAM SELLER was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6 (124) – THE VILLOO C. POONAWALLA PUNE DERBY (GRADE 1): (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
BAYCHIMO (Antony Raj S., dr.8) lost about three lengths at the start.
Approaching the 1600 metres, ZACHARIAS (Vivek G.) racing on the haunches of PROKOFIEV (Suraj Narredu) was observed to have clipped the former and stumble.
Approaching the 400 metres, MIRACLE OF HANUKAH (Mukesh Kumar) shifted in and went across GUNSMOKE (Yash Narredu) causing the latter to check and change course. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Mukesh Kumar has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Approaching the 200 metres, BAYCHIMO (Antony Raj S.) was observed to have drifted out under pressure. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race
In the final stages of the race, SUPERSTAR (A. Prakash) shifted in and went across PROKOFIEV (Suraj Narredu) causing the latter to be steadied.
Jockey Vivek G. (ZACHARIAS) was observed to have stood up and raised his hand as a victory sign before passing the winning post. This being his 1st offence during the current Pune Meeting 2025, he has been fined a sum of Rs.5,000/-.
The Equine Hospital reported that GOLDEN DANCER had right eye injury.
After the race, BAYCHIMO and GOLDEN DANCER were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.7 (125) – THE JIMMY UMRIGAR TROPHY-DIVISION- II: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
Trainer Subhag Singh had declared Jockey P. Trevor on his charge ADEYA, subsequently before the declarations he had informed this office that Jockey P. Trevor had already accepted a ride on NAMIRI in this race. As such, Trainer Subhag Singh was permitted to declare Jockey T. S. Jodha on his charge. After questioning all the concerned Trainer Subhag Singh has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to confirm the ride with Jockey P. Trevor.
Soon after the start, EKATARINA (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in onto HER CHARGE (Bhawani Singh) who in turn shifted in and went across TYRONE POWER (Amyn Merchant) and NAMIRI (P. Trevor) causing the latter to check and change course. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Jockey Antony Raj S. (CONJURER) was observed to have used the whip in an improper manner on his mount. As such, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh (HER CHARGE) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. In view of the same and a similar behavior of the filly in its previous outing, Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to show his charge in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.
After the race, TYRONE POWER was trotted and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported that NAMIRI had right eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.8 (126) – THE VINAYAK SALVER: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 14
ADONIS (Bhawani Singh, dr.14) threw its head up at the start.
Soon after the start, MENJOU’S MOUSTACHE (App. Ramswarup) shifted in and went across ANANYA (S. J. Sunil), IMPULSIVE (App. Bharat Singh) and FLASHMAN (Antony Raj S.) thereafter MENJOU’S MOUSTACHE further shifted in onto ARBITRAGE (App. Haridas Gore) who in turn leaned in onto LIGHTNING BLAZE (A. Prakash) thereby tightening and inconveniencing MOMENT OF MADNESS (App. Avinash Paswan) causing the latter to check and change course who went onto UNTITLED (App. Ritesh Gochhi). After questioning and not being satisfied, App. Ramswarup has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Passing the 500 metres, SUPERLUMINAL (R. Shelar) lost its footing, broke down and dislodged its rider, the filly was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be recumbent with broken left fore radius bone with open fracture which was not repairable. As such, with the due consent of Trainer Ivor Fernandes the filly was euthanized on humanitarian grounds.
After the race, IMPULSIVE was observed to have an injury on its right hind fetlock.

The urine and blood samples of the JOONDALUP (Winner – 3rd race) , SHAMBALA (Winner – 5th race), MAGILETO (2nd place – 5th race), ZACHARIAS (Winner – 6th race), GUNSMOKE (2nd place – 6th race), SUPERSTAR (3rd place – 6th race), CONJURER (Winner – 7th race), FLASHMAN (Winne – 8th race), and the special samples of SCARAMOUCHE (1st race) & VIKING (2nd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
