RACE DAY REPORT
RAILS WERE PLACED AT THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 2400 METRES TO 2100 METRES, 4 METRES WIDE FROM 2000 METRES TO 1000 METRES. THEREAFTER RAILS WERE PLACED AT THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION UP TO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.
On a request from Trainer S. S. Attaollahi, permission was granted to Trainer P. Shroff to saddle his charge POSITANO in the 6th race, at his own (Trainer S. S. Attaollahi’s) risk and responsibility.
On a request from Trainer S. Waheed, permission was granted to Trainer Vijay Kasbekar to saddle his charge WE STILL BELIEVE in the 1st race, BELIEVE in the 3rd race and PYRITE in the 6th race, at his own (Trainer S. Waheed’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (59) – THE AZZURRO PLATE: (ABOUT) 1100 METRES – RUNNERS – 8
After being stalled, SAMSON (C. Umesh, dr.2) was fractious, played up and hooked one of his forelegs in the adjoining stall, the gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified him fit to race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, CONTINENTAL DRIFT (Santosh G., dr.1) jumped outwards at the same time SAMSON (C. Umesh, dr.2) jumped inwards and they made contact.
Soon after the start, PURPLE MARTINI (P. Trevor) leaned in onto MOMENT OF MADNESS (App. Haridas Gore) who in turn shifted in and went across EXHALT (R. Shelar) causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.
After the race, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, endoscopy was performed on PURPLE MARTINI at the saddling enclosure and no abnormality was found.
After the race, SAMSON & PURPLE MARTINI were trotted and found to be sound.
After the race, UNTITLED was observed to have an injury on its right hind bulb of heel.
RACE NO.2 (60) – THE JAIDEV TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 4
RULING DYNASTY (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.2) took a fly jump and lost about five lengths at the start. Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Approaching 150 metres, JADE (Vivek G.) leaned in and made contact with EL GRECO (A. Sandesh) thereafter JADE further shifted in and went across EL GRECO who had to be steadied. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Vivek G. has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, RULING DYNASTY was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. As such the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, EL GRECO was observed to have a gum injury.
The Equine Hospital reported that RULING DYNASTY had a left eye injury (sore) with ulcer.
RACE NO.3 (61) – THE COL. KAIKUSHROO MANECKJI BHARUCHA MEMORIAL TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 13
On a request from Trainer P. S. Chouhan, CHELSEA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 10:20 a.m. on 31st August 2025 at the stables and was found to have a swelling on her right hind above the fetlock. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race, was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
In the process of being backed in, EMBER TOWER (V. R. Jagadeesh, dr.6) was very fractious which resulted in its bridle being displaced, the same was put on which led to a delay in the start.
MUSKOKA (App. Haridas Gore, dr.12) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
BLUEBIRD (Kirtish Bhagat, dr.13) was reluctant to be stalled and soon after the start the gelding stopped galloping. In view of the gelding’s behavior, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to show his charge in two Mock Races to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.
At the start, MUSKOKA (App. Haridas Gore, dr.12) took an awkward jump and made contact with GOBBY (S. G. Prasad, dr.11).
Approaching the 1200 metres, MUSKOKA (App. Haridas Gore) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing BELIEVE (S. Mosin) causing the latter to be checked. Jockey Haridas Gore has been cautioned.
Approaching the 600 metres, MAYSARA (K. Nazil) shifted in and went across APPLAUSE (App. Ramswarup) causing the latter to check and change course. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey K. Nazil has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, Jockey V. R .Jagadeesh (EMBER TOWER) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer B. Prithviraj has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, App. Haridas Gore (MUSKOKA) reported that his mount was running green throughout the race. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, NEUTRALIST was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. As such the colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, GOBBY was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore. As such the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, EMBER TOWER was trotted and found to be sound.
After the race, SUSSING was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

RACE NO.4 (62) – THE FIELD MARSHAL SAM MANEKSHAW MEMORIAL TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 6
BRAVE BEAUTY (Santosh G., dr.5) jumped out slowly losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer Vinesh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, THE MILENIUM FORCE (A. Sandesh, dr.3) jumped outwards thereby forcing SHIRSA (S. G. Prasad, dr.4) outwards onto TREASURE GOLD (S. A. Amit, dr.6).
After the race, BRAVE BEAUTY, TREASURE GOLD & FINCH were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5 (63) – THE SOUTHERN COMMAND GOLD TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
On a request from Trainer P. Shroff, EXCITING was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 08:45 a.m. on 30th August 2025 at the stables and was found to be sore by right fore. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race, was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
GOLD BAR (Nirmal Jodha, dr.9) refused to be stalled and was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Approaching the 1300 metres, MONEY FAIR (Prashant P. Dhebe) shifted in onto MIRACLE OF HANUKAH (T. S. Jodha) who in turn leaned in onto AMAZE AND INSPIRE (A. Prakash) due to the incident MIRACLE OF HANUKAH had to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (ILLUSIONIST) reported that he was not ready when the start was effected. After having reviewed the start, the Starter has been asked to be more careful in the future.
After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (CHARLIE BROWN) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race Jockey A. Sandesh (JACKSON) reported that his mount was running green in the straight, despite his effort, Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, CHARLIE BROWN was trotted and found to be sound
RACE NO.6 (64) – THE IDAR GOLD TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2400 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
DUKE OF TUSCANY (P. Trevor, dr.5) jumped outwards and made contact with GOLDEN THUNDER (Bhawani Singh, dr.6) who leaned out onto TIEPOLO (A. Prakash, dr.7).
Passing the 2000 metres, DREAM ALLIANCE (N. S. Parmar) veered outwards and carried DUKE OF TUSCANY (P. Trevor). After the race on questioning Jockey N. S. Parmar stated that his mount was very keen in the early part of the race and in an effort to settle, the gelding had thrown its head up and shifted out.
Passing the 800 metres, ARKADIAN (Vivek G.) racing between PYRITE (T. S. Jodha) and TIEPOLO (A. Prakash) was tightened for room and had to be steadied.
Passing the 400 metres, Jockey Vivek G. (ARKADIAN) shifted out under urgings in an effort to force a passage, thereby bumping POSITANO (A. Sandesh) thereafter Jockey A. Sandesh leaned in which resulted in both the riders to jostle for room amounting to being dangerous. The Stipendiary Stewards are looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.
The Equine Hospital reported that POSITANO had a right eye injury (sore) with ulcer.
RACE NO.7 (65) – THE SHIVALIK SHOWERS PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
MR BRAINWASH (N. Bhosale, dr.7) was reluctant to be stalled and thereafter reared up and lost about three lengths at the start. Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the horse to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, CELLINI (S. A. Amit, dr.6) jumped inwards and went across SIR BAFFERT (K. Pranil, dr.5) who was marginally slow to begin.
Approaching the 150 metres, FONTANA (App. Aditya Waydande) shifted in and went across FIGHTON (N. S. Parmar). After the race, App. Aditya Waydande reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, Jockey K. Pranil (SIR BAFFERT) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, BUBBLY BOY was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore. As such the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, MR BRAINWASH was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore. As such the horse has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, RAMBLER was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd, 5th & 6th race, viz. BETWEEN FRIENDS, GIACOMO, MONEY FAIR & POSITANO and the special samples of PURPLE MARTINI (1st race), NEUTRALIST (3rd race) & DREAM ALLIANCE (6th race) were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
