PUNE MEETING 2025, SPECIAL RACE DAY, SUNDAY, 10TH, AUGUST, 2025

 

 (PENETROMETER: 4.5 (LONGCHAMP METHOD); GOING: GOOD)

 

RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 1800 METRES TO 1000 METRES. 2 METRES WIDE AT 800 METRES. THEREAFTER 3 METRES WIDE UPTO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 6 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

On a request from Trainer M. Narredu, permission was granted to Trainer Deepesh Narredu to saddle his charges GOLDEN HEART in the 1st race, QUICKER in the 2nd race and EATON SQUARE in the 4th  race, at his own (Trainer M. Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.

  

RACE NO.1(31) – THE JOCKEYS ASSOCIATION OF INDIA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

Soon after the start, GOLDEN HEART (Yash Narredu) shifted in and went across TREASURE GOLD (S. A. Amit) who had to be steadied. Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey S. A. Amit (TREASURE GOLD) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey Vivek G. (OLIVER) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting 2025, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, GOLDEN HEART was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As such, the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, TREASURE GOLD and WIND DANCER were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that TREASURE GOLD had right eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.2(32) – THE WESTERN INDIA RACE HORSE OWNERS' ASSOCIATION TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

At the request of the Stipendiary Stewards the Sr. V.O. examined AXLROD (App. Aditya Waydande) on arrival at the starting gates, who certified him fit to race.

 

AMADEO (A. Sandesh, dr.7) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

AXLROD (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.6) took a fly jump at the start.

 

At the start, FONTANA (Vivek G., dr.2) jumped inwards and made contact with QUICKER (App. Bharat Singh, dr.1)

 

Approaching the 300 metres, AMADEO (A. Sandesh) leaned inwards and went across ARIES (A. S. Peter) causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 200 metres, AXLROD (App. Aditya Waydande) shifted in under urgings and went across AMADEO (A. Sandesh). App. Aditya Waydande has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 50 metres, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (BEE MAGICAL) was observed to have shifted out. After the race on questioning, Jockey Neeraj Rawal stated that he had shifted out due to the lack of room. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned and has been asked to be more careful in the future.

 

After the race, Jockey Vivek G. (FONTANA) reported that his mount hung-in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, AXLROD was trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ARIES had left eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.3(33) –THE IRON AGE TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS -4

 

At the start, SON OF A GUN (A. Prakash, dr.1) jumped outwards at the same time DIVINE STAR (P. Trevor, dr.2) jumped inwards and they made contact.

 

At the start, CREDENCE (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.4) jumped inwards and went across IRISH GOLD (A. Sandesh, dr.3) who was marginally slow to begin, thereafter CREDENCE further shifted in before the red maker thereby tightening DIVINE STAR (P. Trevor, dr.2). After questioning and not being satisfied, App. Aditya Waydande has been fined Rs.3,000/- .

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (DIVINE STAR) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, DIVINE STAR was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(34) – THE RAJARAM CHHATRAPATI TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

REGAL COMMAND (Bhawani Singh, dr.5) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

EATON SQUARE (N. S. Parmar, dr.1) planted in the stall thereby taking no practical part in the race. As such, Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, App. Aditya Waydande (ALPINE STAR) reported loss of whip in the final stages of the race. This being his first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2025, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, THUNDERING PHOENIX was trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, ALPINE STAR was observed to have a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.5(35) – THE YOHAN Z. POONAWALLA TURF CLUB TROPHY  (GRADE 3): (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

Jockey Vivek G. (JADE) and A. Prakash (CONSTABLE) have been fined Rs.3,000/- each for failing to follow the instructions of the Starter while going to the starting gate.

 

Soon after the start, SNOWFALL (Yash Narredu) shifted in thereby tightening MADAM RICH (C. Umesh) who had to be steadied. Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 150 metres, Jockey Antony Raj S. (SIEGE COURAGEOUS) was observed to have lost his whip. After the race on questioning, he stated that his whip got entangled in his reins and in his effort to free it fell. The Stipendiary Stewards are looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

Approaching the 100 metres, SNOWFALL (Yash Narredu) leaned in thereby tightening JADE (Vivek G.) who had to be steadied. Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned.

 

After the race, MADAM RICH was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(36) – THE WESTERN INDIA TRAINERS' ASSOCIATION TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

JET TYPHOON (App. S. Siddharth, dr.8) took a fly jump and lost about a length at the start.

 

Approaching the 200 metres, CORNERSTONE (App. Sonu Chouhan) shifted out under urgings and went across JET TYPHOON (App. S. Siddharth) and carried ETOILE (S. A. Amit) outwards. App. Sonu Chouhan has been cautioned.

 

After the race, JET TYPHOON was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(37) – THE STRATEGIC MOVE PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

At the request of Trainer Sanjay Kolse, PURPLE MARTINI was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 11:00 a.m. on 09th August 2025, at the stables and was found to be sore by left fore.  As such, the filly was certified unfit to race, was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

On arrival at the starting gates, at the request of Jockey Vivek G., STAR IMPACT was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified her fit to race.

 

At the start, BETWEEN FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.5) jumped inwards at the same time MISS MAGIC (S. Mosin, dr.4) jumped outwards and they made contact.

 

At the start, IMPULSIVE (App. Bharat Singh, dr.1) took an awkward jump and went across STAR OF ASIA (C. Umesh, dr.3) and made contact with MISS MAGIC (S. Mosin, dr.4). Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 700 metres, IMPULSIVE (App. Bharat Singh) leaned outwards thereby clipping the heels of BETWEEN FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe) and stumbled thereby dislodging its rider. Due to this incident SPEAK THE BREED (Antony Raj S.) racing on the haunches of IMPULSIVE was inconvenienced and had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 200 metres, STAR IMPACT (Vivek G.) was observed to have veered out despite the rider’s effort and raced on the extreme outside. In view of the behavior of the filly, Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, STAR OF ASIA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at the stables and was found to be sore by right fore. As such the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, STAR IMPACT was trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, IMPULSIVE was trotted and found to be sound and was observed with broken tooth.

 

After the race, BETWEEN FRIENDS was observed to have an injury on its right hock.

The urine and blood samples of the OLIVER (Winner – 1st race), FONTANA (Winner – 2nd race), SNOWFALL (Winner – 5th race), MARKET KING (2nd place – 5th race), STAR IMPACT (Winner – 7th race) and the special samples of DIVINE STAR (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
