PUNE MEETING 2023, SEVENTH DAY, SUNDAY, 17TH, SEPTEMBER, 2023.

 

 (PENETROMETER: 4.4 (LONGCHAMP METHOD); GOING: GOOD)

 

RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION. RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

RACE NO.1(79) – THE GREAT SECRET PLATE  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS -  10

 

HABIBI (P. Vinod, dr.4) was reluctant to stall. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After being stalled, NORD (P. Shinde, dr.6) played up as such the gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

ARBITRAGE (Haridas Gore, dr.3) reared up as the start was effected thereby losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Soon after the start, BOMBER (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in under urgings thereby bumping and forcing VICTORY CHANT (App. S. Saba) inwards onto C’EST L’AMOUR (App. Mustakim Alam) who in turn shifted in and went across NORD (P. Shinde) causing the latter to check. After questioning, Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, NAIROBI (S. G. Prasad) shifted in and went across BOMBER (Neeraj Rawal) causing the latter to check and change course due to which VICTORY CHANT ( App. S. Saba) racing along side was tightened for room and dropped back. After questioning, Jockey S. G. Prasad has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Approaching the 250 metres, HIGH SPIRIT (A. K. Aniket) shifted out and made contact with VICTORY CHANT (App. S. Saba).

 

Jockey T. S. Jodha (PRINCE O’ WAR) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting 2023, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, C’EST L’AMOUR was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s Sr. V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BOMBER was trotted and found to be sound and PRINCE O’ WAR was found to have an injury on right hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.2(80) – THE SERUM INSTITUTE OF INDIA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2400 METRES – RUNNERS -  5

 

After the race, Jockey S. Saqlain (VINCENT VAN GOGH) reported that his mount was inclined outwards passing 400 metres. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SEA THE SUN & VINCENT VAN GOGH were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(81) – THE SURAIYA & MASOOM MASTER TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS -  7

 

At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, NORTHERN SINGHER was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 10.15 a.m. on 14/09/2023 at the stables and was found to sore by right fore, as such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching the red marker, FIDATO (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted in and went across ZUKOR (K. Nazil) causing the latter to check and change course thereby forcing WALSHY (App. Haridas Gore) outwards onto SENTINEL (Bhawani Singh) who had to be checked. App. Mustakim Alam has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 700 metres, WALSHY (App. Haridas Gore) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing JETFIRE (App. S. Saba) along the rails. App. Haridas Gore has been cautioned.

 

After the race, SENTINEL was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(82) – THE VILLOO C. POONAWALLA MILLION: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES –RUNNERS- 8

 

Passing the 1000 metres, BUBBLY BOY (Yash Narredu) leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing RACING ROMANCE (P. S. Chouhan) causing the latter to be steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey S. Zervan (NEILINA) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, JULIANA was found to be sore by right fore. The filly has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SERRANO was trotted and found to be sound. On further examination it was found that the gelding had a wolf tooth on left side. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures for the same, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, NEILINA was trotted and found to be sound but was found to have injury on right fore cannon.

 

RACE NO.5(83) – THE S. A. POONAWALLA MILLION  (Grade 3): (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS -  7

 

Soon after the start, DREAM ALLIANCE (App. Mustakim Alam) racing on the haunches of BELIEVE (Neeraj Rawal) was observed to have clipped the former and stumbled.

 

Passing the 400 metres, JULIUS (Bhawani Singh) shifted out under urgings thereby bumping and forcing RUSH (C. Umesh) outwards onto MISTY (P. Trevor). Jockey Bhawani Singh has been cautioned.

 

Jockey Bhawani Singh (JULIUS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting 2023, Jockey Bhawani Singh has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, App. Mustakim Alam (DREAM ALLIANCE) reported that his reins slipped momentarily in the final stages of the race.

 

After the race, BELIEVE was trotted and found to be sound but was found to have abrasion on left hind hock.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that DREAM ALLLIANCE was found to have ulcer in right eye.

 

RACE NO.6(84) – THE JEFFERSON PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 14

 

After being stalled, CHAGALL (P. Trevor, dr.2) played up, as such, the colt was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 1200 metres, due to a tightly packed field CHAGALL (P. Trevor) racing along the rails was tightened for room and dropped back

 

Approaching the 700 metres, WHATSINANAME (J. Chinoy) shied inwards and made contact with GIANT KING (App. Mustakim Alam) who had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 400 metres, KARIENA (Neeraj Rawal) leaned in onto FONTANA (C. Umesh) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening OTELLO (A. S. Peter) along the rails. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey T. S. Jodha (AXLROD) reported that his mount was inclined outwards around the turn. Trainer Nosher Cama has been asked to remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, GOLDEN WARRIOR was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

After the race, WHATSINANAME was trotted at the stables and found to be sound but was found to have an injury on left hind hock.

 

After the race, HAGIBIS was found to have injury on right hind bulb of heel.

 

After the race, AXLROD was trotted at the stables and found to be sound but was found to have an injury on right fore bulb of heel.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that GOLDEN WARRIOR was found to have sore right eye and ulcer in left eye.

 

RACE NO.7(85) – THE GREAT SECRET PLATE  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, PRINCE IGOR was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 10.15 a.m. on 14/09/2023 at the stables and was found to be sore by left hind, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

At the request of Trainer S. K. Sunderji, LADY DI was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 06.00 p.m. on 15/09/2023 at the stables and was found to be sore by right fore and had swelling on right fore fetlock, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, PHANTA (M. S. Deora) leaned outwards at the same time SUSSING (App. N. Bhosale) shifted in thereby tightening INDIA STRONG (N. S. Parmar), TRINKET (P. Shinde) and HOUSE OF LORDS (A. K. Aniket) thereafter CHAMPAGNE SMILE (Vishal N. Bunde) shifted in thereby tightening SUSSING causing the latter to shift in due to which HOUSE OF LORDS racing on its haunches stumbled and TRINKET was tightened for room and had to be checked. After questioning all concerned, Jockey Vishal N. Bunde has been fine Rs.3,000/-.

 

Soon after the start, MIGHTY THUNDER (App. Mustakim Alam) and FAIRUZA (T. S. Jodha) were observed to have jostled.

 

After the race, PHANTA was found to be sore by right fore. The filly has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, FALDO was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s Sr. V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, HOUSE OF LORDS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that SUSSING was found to have ulcer in left eye.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st & 2nd race, viz. NAIROBI & SEA THE SUN, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

 

The urine and blood samples of the PURE FOR SURE (Winner – 4th race), ENABLER (Winner – 5th race) & JULIUS (2nd place – 5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
