RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 3 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 4 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.
FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
On a request from Trainer K. Pradeep Annaiah, permission was granted to Trainer Subhag Singh to saddle his charge TOUGH COOKIE in the 3rd race, at his own (Trainer K. Pradeep Annaiah’s) risk and responsibility.
On a request from Trainer Deepesh Narredu, permission was granted to Trainer M. Narredu to saddle his charge LEOPARD ROCK in the 6th race, at his own (Trainer Deepesh Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.
On a request from Trainer L. D’Silva, permission was granted to Trainer Sanjay Kolse to saddle his charge LIVERMORE in the 4th race, ROYAL GRACE in the 5th race and CORFE CASTLE in the 6th race at his own (Trainer L. D’Silva’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(163) THE ACT IN TIME MILLION: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES - RUNNERS - 14
JERUSALEM (A. Sandesh, dr. 6) jumped out slowly losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Soon after the start, HERO OF THE EAST (Akshay Kumar) shifted in thereby tightening JUSTIN (Bhawani Singh) and carrying WHATSINANAME (C. S. Jodha) inwards causing the latter to check and change course due to which JUSTIN racing on its haunches had to be checked. Jockey Akshay Kumar has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Soon after the start, ALPINE STAR (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted out and went across GANGSTER (App. Hardias Gore) who had to check and change course thereby carrying AMBER KNIGHT (Vishal N. Bunde) inwards. App. Mustakim Alam has been cautioned.
At the start, BRAVE BEAUTY (P. Trevor, dr.7) jumped inwards and went across JERUSALEM (A. Sandesh, dr.6) who was slow to begin.
Approaching the 400 metres, ALPINE STAR (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing JUSTIN (Bhawani Singh) causing the latter to check and change course. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by App. Mustakim Alam, he has been suspended for 2 race days i.e. on first two race days of the Pune Meeting 2023 for careless riding, dates of which will be intimated in due course.
After the race, SHE IS ON FIRE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s Sr. V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, Sr. V.O. reported that ZBOROWSKI was examined and found to be sore by right hind. As such, the first aid treatment was given and the colt was sent in the ambulance to the Equine Hospital for further diagnosis and treatment.
After the race, HERO OF THE EAST was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(164) THE BLUE HORIZON MILLION : (ABOUT) 1400 METRES - RUNNERS - 16
At the start, WILD THING (N. S. Parmar, dr.5) jumped out throwing its head.
Passing the 1200 metres, due to a tightly packed field FANCY NANCY (Akshay Kumar) was tightened along the rails and had to be steadied.
Approaching the 100 metres, FORTUNE TELLER (App. A. S. Peter) was observed to have shifted in under use of the whip thereby bumping and boring FANCY NANCY (Akshay Kumar) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation of App. A. S. Peter, he has been suspended for 1 race day i.e. on first race day of Pune Meeting 2023 for careless riding, date of which will be intimated in due course.
After the race, TYRONE BLACK and FANCY NANCY were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(165) THE TURF AUTHORITIES OF INDIA MILLION: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES - RUNNERS - 11
At the start, ZARAK (S. Zervan, dr.6) jumped outwards and went across DANGEROUS (A. Sandesh, dr.7) who was marginally slow to begin causing the latter to be steadied.
Approaching the 300 metres, DANGEROUS (A. Sandesh) shifted out under urgings and carried OWN VOICE (Vishal N. Bunde) outwards causing the latter to check and drop back. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation Jockey A. Sandesh has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
RACE NO.4(166) THE ZAVARAY S. POONAWALLA JUVENILE MILE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
Passing the 250 metres, BOOSTER SHOT (Imran Chisty) shifted out under urgings and went across CAPITOLIUM (Neeraj Rawal). Jockey Imran Chisty has been cautioned.
Jockey P. Trevor (THE GODFATHER) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2022/23, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (THE GODFATHER) reported that the saddle on his mount had slipped during the race. This being the first instance of faulty saddling during the current Mumbai Meeting 2022/23, Tr. M. Narredu has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, CAPITOLIUM was trotted and found to be sound and was observed to have lost right fore shoe.
RACE NO.5(167) THE SWEEPING SUCCESS MILLION: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
At the start, YUKAN (P. Trevor, dr.2) jumped outwards and made contact with MAGNETO (Imran Chisty, dr.3) who had to be steadied.
Passing the 600 metres, it was observed that due to a tightly packed field MAGILETO (T. S. Jodha) racing along the rails had to be checked.
App. Mustakim Alam (GOLDEN NEIL) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. On being questioned App. Mustakim Alam stated that his mount was hanging out and he had used the whip as a corrective measure and the same was borne out from the video recording of the race, as such, no action has been initiated against Jockey. However, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, Jockey T. S. Jodha (MAGILETO) reported loss of whip passing the 250 metres. This being his first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2022/23, no action has been initiated.
After the race, RAMBLER was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(168) THE ZAVARAY S. POONAWALLA SPRINTERS' CHALLENGE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES - RUNNERS - 11
After the race, IRON AGE was found to be sore by the left fore. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s Sr. V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, THE SOVEREIGN ORB was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The horse has to be passed fit by the Club’s Sr. V.O., before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.7(169) THE ARKTOUROS MILLION: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES - RUNNERS - 14
At the start, ARBITRAGE (App. Haridas Gore, dr.11) jumped outwards onto CHAMPAGNE SMILE (Vishal N Bunde, dr. 12) thereafter ARBITRAGE leaned inwards and brushed the haunches of TEISPES (T. S. Jodha, dr.10).
Passing the 350 metres, CHAMPAGNE SMILE (Vishal N. Bunde) shifted in under urgings thereby tightening and inconveniencing SUPERIMPOSE (A. Sandesh) thereafter CHAMPAGNE SMILE was observed to have maintained an erratic course. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation of Jockey Vishal N. Bunde, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Passing the 100 metres, ARBITRAGE (App. Haridas Gore) shifted out and went across SUPERIMPOSE (A. Sandesh) causing the latter to be checked. App. Haridas Gore has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Jockey P. S. Chouhan (TARZAN) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2022/23, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-
The Sr. V.O. reported that HOUSE OF LORDS was sent to the Equine Hospital for radiography on 2nd April 2023 and was found to be sore by right fore. As such, the gelding has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, TEISPES was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th race, viz. GANGSTER, ATAASH, CHARLIE, BELIEVE, PRIDE’S ANGEL, LEOPARD ROCK & CHARMING STAR, were collected for detection of prohibited substance, however, only urine samples were sent for analysis.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:
RE: LOOKING INTO JOCKEY N. S. PARMAR’S COMPLAINT OF NOT BEING READY AT THE STARTING GATE ON ‘AME’ DURING THE START OF THE RACE NO.108 – THE DR. A. H. SAYED PLATE DIVISION- II (ABOUT) 1200 METRES RUN ON 19th FEBRUARY 2023:
After viewing the CCTV replay of the race in question along with the Jockey and Starter it was noted that the gelding played up and at the same time the field was dispatched which resulted in the incident.
RACE NO.6(113): THE SION F. NESSIM PLATE (ABOUT): RUN ON 19TH FEBRUARY 2023.
Jockey Y. S. Srinath (FREEDOM) informed Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait in the paddock that the saddle on his mount was not the saddle which he weighed out. On investigating it was found that his saddle had got exchanged with the saddle of FANCY NANCY of race no.7, as such both the Jockeys were made to weigh out again. Having enquired into the matter it was established that both the saddles were placed on the saddle rack in accordance with the assigned number. However, there was a mix up with the stable hand taking the saddle for saddling. In view of the lapse, Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
