From the Horses Mouth - Race form Analysis Guide for Sunday, 21st January 2018
- By Cyrus Naterwalla

Race No.1 :- The Lt. Col. Govind Singh (VRC) Trophy – Maiden 3 Year Olds – Distance :- 1400M

AUGUSTUS CAESAR :-This 3 year old trained by Altamash Ahmed is by Holy Roman Emperor out of a Sadlers Wells mare and this is her first foal in India. He has been well prepared for his debut run and moved nicely in a 6 furlong Mock Race a couple of weeks ago so he should be fit and ready to go. He is taking on a couple of horses which have had previous experience but he looks a smart type on paper and could be good enough to tackle this field first time out. Neeraj Rawal takes the ride and he looks a strong contender to win on debut.

HOPE AND GLORY :- Likely to start favourite in this field having had the benefit of an educative run first time out where he did not look fully ready in the paddock and could not hold off the late challenge from Octavius who is also trained by Altamash Ahmed so he should have a good idea of the form on a line through his own horse. Hope and Glory appears to have improved since the run and will have the assistance of David Probert in the saddle today and, being a half brother to Torrorosso, he is likely to relish any step up in trip. He clearly appears to be the one to beat here with the benefit of experience and is strongly fancied.

PULVERIZE :-This Saamidd colt from the powerful string of Dr. MAM Ramaswamy is trained by Karthik G and is the other runner in the field with prior experience, albeit well beaten when finishing a faraway last of 7 to Mozart over course and distance about a month ago. He is likely to have learnt a little from that run but the booking of Bhawani Singh suggests that he may still be getting ready and may need more time. He is expected to give a better account of himself today and may be able to sneak into a place if showing some improvement.

ROGUE ONE :-Debutant from the Narendra Lagad yard, he is by the well performed mare Eloise who has also thrown King David winner of 1 race in Hyderabad and Eloika who was a winner of 2 races in Mysore. The siblings have won over sprint distances suggesting that there is speed in the pedigree so he may find the 7 furlong trip stretching him but he appears to have been given enough prep work to be fit enough first time out and a paddock check is advised. Dashrath Singh has been booked to ride and he is another who could fight it out for minor honours.

BOURBON PRINCESS :-The only filly in the fray, she comes from the stable of S.K. Sunderji who has a very strong bunch of 4 year olds so his 3 year olds this term will be watched with much interest. She is a half sister to Nanhipari who has managed to win once from 7 starts over a mile in Mysore and also Malakeye Ziba who won 2 races over sprints in Hyderabad so there are mixed messages from the pedigree. She too has been working fairly well and C.S.Jodha has been booked to ride. She looks likely to need this run and would be one of the outsiders here.

CONCLUSION :-This is expected to be primarily between Hope and Glory and the impressive looking debutant Augustus Caesar with a slight edge to the Vishal Gaikwad ward having had the benefit of a promising first run. The race looks unlikely to go outside the pair.

Race No. 2 :- The R RByramji Trophy – Class III – Distance :- 2000M

SUSSEX PRIDE :- 5 year old colt trained by Subhag Singh, he has won 3 of his 21 starts till date, all those wins coming in the latter half of the previous Mumbai season where he struck a rich vein of form which he has not been able to reproduce since. He has run 3 races already this term and after a lung opener on his seasonal debut, he seemed to improve in his next 2 runs, finishing a close up 4th to Glorious Eyes and Zanara over 1800M and then chasing home Lord of the Sea over 2400M last time out when he had Harmony back in 3rd receiving 4 kilos so he appears to hold that rival on the form. He will not mind the drop back to 2000M and P. Trevor takes over from T.S. Jodha which is a positive. He does not have the scope to improve that the younger horses do but looks to be hitting form and cannot be ignored in this small field.

SAMARJEET :-This 4 year old gelding trained by S.K. Sunderji has shown remarkable improvement in the last 6 months and after scoring a shock maiden success in Pune back in September, he has not looked back and is unbeaten in both his starts this term. He began by showing good resilience to win a fierce battle with the long odds on favourite Baby Face and prevail over 1800M in Class IV and then took his penalty in stride and again showed a good attitude to score over this trip last time out, beating Drogo and Aspen with Harmony back in 4th. A straight line through Harmony would leave him with something to find with Sussex Pride but he appears to be improving with every run and could very well defy the handicap again. He seems to have maintained himself in good order since the last win and looks a frontline contender with C.S. Jodha retaining the ride.

ALBARETO :- Trained by S.S. Shah, this son of Western Aristocrat is owned by the Rattonsey family and has always been held in very high regard which resulted in him starting a favourite on his maiden run over 1200M in Pune but he looked green and inexperienced and was no match for Gazino that day. He was given time to improve since then and looked much more the finished article this term, first getting the better of Gloriana in a scrappy 6 furlong contest first time out but much more impressive when stepped up to a mile on his last start when coming with a strong run from the rear to win easily. The previous progeny of his dam Miss Wonder was unable to secure a win in 14 starts but his younger brother Big Brave has finished an impressive 2nd over 1100M on his racing debut. His style of racing suggests that he will appreciate the additional step up in trip and he has been working superbly of late. A. Imran Khan has been booked to ride and he looks the most likely winner here.

HARMONY :-This exposed 6 year old mare from the yard of Narendra Lagad has finished behind both Sussex Pride and Samarjeet in various races this term and unlike the others, she appears to be struggling with her current handicap mark and has been winless in 3 attempts this season over varying trips. The drop back from 2400M looks likely to suit her and Dashrath Singh is up again today but she clearly looks the outsider of the quartet and will struggle to do better than finish last.

CONCLUSION :-The improving and progressive Albareto is taken to get the better of the battle hardened Samarjeet in this small field. The S.S. Shah ward looks the more progressive of the pair although the latter has proven form over this trip .

Race No. 3 :- The Rhythm Trophy – Div. I – Class V – Distance :- 1600M

AIZEL :- Well bred 4 year old filly trained by Faisal Abbas, she has had 3 runs till date all over sprint trips and has been unplaced on all her 3 starts, although not beaten very far the last twice. She is a half sister to Native Knight who came into his own over distance trips so this step up in trip is sure to see her in a much better light. She may be taking time to come to hand still as Amyn Merchant who does not ride too many winners nowadays has been declared to ride but she drops into a lower grade now and could be an interesting long shot who is worth keeping an eye on.

ARASHI :-Trained by Pesi Shroff, this 4 year old Rock of Gibraltar filly is still a maiden after 4 starts and has run modestly till date in all her races. She has run twice already this season, first time out finishing 4th to Lady In Red over 1400M and then showing a little improvement when ending up a close 4th over a mile next time out behind Kimberella. She is eased into Class V and appears to be taking on much weaker opposition today and hence appears to be a leading fancy. In form apprentice H. Zeeshan claims a valuable 3 ½ kilos and against this weak opposition, she looks to have an outstanding chance to shed her maiden tag.

HIGHLAND WIND :- Unexposed 4 year old gelding who is in the hands of the shrewd Rehanullah Khan and although he is yet to win in 5 starts till date, he ran a couple of decent placed races over sprint trips in Bangalore and looks another likely to relish the step up in trip and the drop in grade. He is having his first start of the season and has been well prepared for it and the booking of P.S. Chouhan suggests that connections fancy their chances today. A paddock check is advised and he looks a dark horse who could upset here .

SIA :- Nicely bred 4 year old filly trained by Nirad Karanjawala, she has raced 4 times till date without a win but is another who is attempting a marked step up to more galloping ground although she has been competing in this grade without much success in her last couple of starts. She is a half sister to Oriental Rocky, Oriental Masti and Oriental Sapphire all of whom raced in Western India and were modestly successful and she has shown some improvement this term. She has been working well for some time now although the switch from A. Imran Khan to K.Nazil is a negative. It could be that connections are experimenting with her at present but if she improves for the longer trip then she could very well be involved.

XOXO :-This 4 year old gelding from the yard of S.S. Shah has raced 6 times till date without a win but showed some improvement on the step up to middle distances in his last 2 starts. He finished a close 3rd over 1400M to Jeena on his seasonal reappearance and then attempted start to finish tactics over a mile last time out where he ended up 4th to Happy Birthday. A. Imran Khan has been booked to ride today and he looks to have a good each way chance again in this field.

CONCLUSION :-Arashi looks to have found a good opportunity to get off the mark and is the selection to shed her maiden tag here. The unexposed Highland Wind appears to be the main danger

Race No. 4 :- The Gool S. Poonawalla Million – Grade 3 – Indian Horses – 3 Years Old Only – Distance :- 1200M

RIQUEWIHR :- The only previous winner amongst the 4 runners today this half sister to Constantine trained by Pesi Shroff was a hugely impressive maiden winner on debut over 1000M when she thrashed the field quite convincingly including Star Attraction who was the runner up on that occasion. She carries a winner’s penalty for that win but still appears to be head and shoulders above this field and will be suited by the additional furlong. She did not fully wound up on her debut so is entitled to improve appreciably for the run and David Probert keeps the ride. She looks in fine form at the moment and appears to be the most likely winner.

LAMBRETTA :- Debutant hailing from the stables of Karthik G and representing the powerful string of Dr. MAM Ramaswamy, he is by Dean’s Kitten who appears to be more of a stamina influence but comes from a decent family being a half sister to Love You Lots, a winner of 3 races in Delhi but more importantly, also a half sister to Hachiko who won 7 of his 18 starts for Vijay Shirke including the Poonawalla Multi Million and this very race in his juvenile season. Lambretta appears to be a little short on preparatory work and is entitled to need this educative run but A. Imran Khan has been booked to ride and he should give a good account of himself.

STAR INSPIRATION :- Well bred chestnut colt trained by MaleshNarredu, he made his debut in the same race as Riquewihr and finished runner up to her that day but was well beaten on that occasion although he too appeared to be carrying some condition that day and is likely to be fitter and sharper today. He is a half brother to the champion colt Arrogant Approach who was a winner of 11 races, finishing runner up in the Super Mile and the Golconda St. Leger and twice 3rd in the Nizam’s Cup, winning the Maharaja’s Cup on one occasion. He too is likely to improve for the experience and appreciate the additional furlong and is likely to be much closer to the filly today taking the winner’s penalty into consideration. He has been working well and will be ridden by SurajNarredu.

WHITE WALKER :-Debutant trained by Dallas Todywalla, he is a full brother to Golden Aliza who failed to win a race in 7 starts, Princess Holly won won 1 of her 14 races over 1200M in Bangalore and Manogamini who was the best performed of the siblings, winning 3 of her 24 starts all over sprint trips. White Walker appears to be showing out well in the morning trials and seems to be one of the more forward runners from the yard and is to be ridden by P.S. Chouhan but he seems to have his work cut out for him against some of the more experienced runners.

CONCLUSION :-Riquewihr made an excellent impression on debut when showing good speed to easily conquer Star Attraction and should confirm the form in spite of her winner’s penalty

Race No. 5 :- The P.D. Avasia Trophy – Class II – Distance :- 1200M

GOVERNOR GENERAL :- Consistent 6 year old trained by M K Jadhav, he seems to be a rather tender sort and hence has been raced very sparingly but has an excellent overall record, finishing outside the frame just once in his 12 starts having won on 4 occasions. He has been withdrawn already on 2 occasions this season before the start so it is unsure whether he will make it to the gates or not but if he does participate then he could very well be a factor over this trip as he has been eased in grade and has been working very well. It is interesting that connections have opted to entrust him to 5 kilo claimer K. Nazil but if he does compete then he can be competitive.

GAZINO :- Progressive 4 year old gelding trained by NosherCama, Gazino really came into his own during the last Pune season with 6 furlongs appearing to be his pet trip at the moment. After fluently winning his maiden by a wide margin, he repeated the dose when tackling Class III opposition for the first time but then came up short when upped to 7 furlongs where he could only manage to finish 4th to Cambridge. Dropped back to 6 furlongs on his seasonal reappearance here, he bounced back with a powerful performance to get the better of YannaRascala and seems to have maintained his form and fitness since that run. He currently appears to be in the pink of condition and with P.S. Chouhan knowing him really well by now, he looks a leading fancy to earn yet another bracket and is a frontline contender.

SUMMER RAYS :-4 year old filly trained by Imtiaz Sait who also appears to be best over this trip at this stage but needs to bounce back from an insipid performance. She is overall a winner of 3 of her 9 starts and usually goes well fresh as all 3 wins have been the opening runs of her respective seasons after which she has failed to add to her tally. She was no match for In The Stars over this trip last time out and faces stiff opposition from Gazino and Shamwari and looks well held by Gazino on a line through Queen Credible. Her recent workouts have been satisfactory and she will be ridden by P. Trevor but she possibly could find one or two too good here although she cannot be ignored.

HIDDEN SOUL :- Consistent 6 year old handicapper trained by S.S. Shah, she has been a good servant to her connections over the years managing to win 5 of her 26 starts and comes into this fresh off a good win over course and distance albeit in older company, decisively beating An Jolie and Locarno. She seems to have maintained her form and fitness since the run and H.Zeeshan replaces Raghuveer Singh in the saddle but she is now taking on improving younger horses under a penalty so it may be tough for her to repeat. She can fight it out for minor honours and make the frame but winning looks tough here.

SHAMWARI :- Lightly raced and progressive 4 year old from the Vishal Gaikwad yard, she has been in rousing form of late and is unbeaten in each of her last 3 starts, including her reappearance run here earlier in the season where she easily accounted for owner mate Wise Child and Double Nine over 1000M. She steps up to 1200M after 3 consecutive wins over 1000M but her manner of racing suggests that this should not be a problem and she looks to be in great form at present. A. Sandesh returns after another short break to partner her and she looks to have an excellent chance to continue her progression receiving 3 ½ kilos from Gazino and must be respected.

QUEEN CREDIBLE :- Enigmatic 5 year old mare from the Rehanullah Khan yard, she is a winner of 3 of her 17 starts and has also finished 2nd on 4 occasions which is a good record and her last win came on the Bangalore track back in August where she beat Class II opposition. She returned after a long absence to have 2 runs this term and last time out finished 1 ¼ lengths adrift of Summer Rays and she is slightly better placed on the scales with that rival today. She may lack some of the scope to improve which the 4 years old have but has been progressing with her racing this season and with C.S. Jodha up, does have a small upset chance from the foot of the weights.

CONCLUSION :-The 2 main contenders here appear to be the in form pair of Gazino and Shamwari and it is very difficult to choose between the pair as both appear to be in fine trim at present.

Race No. 6 :- The TricumdasDwarkadas Trophy – Class IV – Distance :- 1200M

NEMBE GREEK :-Improving 4 year old filly trained by Faisal Abbas, she has had 6 starts till date and showed she had progressed significantly from her last start in September when making a winning reappearance here over course and distance, easily accounting for Chaplin in a 6 furlong maiden and scoring by 3 lengths. She has been penalized 6 ½ kilos for that win but her subsequent track work suggests that she has improved again and she looks likely to take that penalty in her stride now taking on handicap company. She looks closely matched with Chaplin on their last run but seems to be progressing nicely and stands an excellent chance to record a quick encore with C.S. Jodha booked to ride.

SPORTO :- Exposed 5 year old handicapper trained by Adhirajsingh Jodha and to be ridden by Nirmal Singh, he has managed just one maiden win in his 13 starts to date, that win coming in maiden company last December but he has been struggling to progress since then. He finished a fair 3rd to Ascension and Rishab’s Pet over 1000M on his previous run this season but will not mind the additional furlong and NirmalJodha retains the ride. Sporto looks capable of contesting the minor places and can make the frame but his overall record is not inspiring and he needs to spark a revival before he can be considered from a win perspective.

CHAPLIN :-Well bred and improving 4 year old gelding from the Dallas Todywalla yard, he made his racing debut as recently as October and has been making steady progress with his racing. He has been working well for quite some time now and stepped up on his 2 Pune runs last time out when running a forward race before kicking on to finish 2nd to Nembe Greek who beat him quite comfortably that day. He comes out slightly better on the scale today and has the huge advantage of having David Allan in the saddle in place of Dashrath Singh and also the plum No. 1 rail draw which is an added advantage for a front runner. He looks likely to progress again and is strongly fancied to turn the tables on his conqueror and gain a maiden victory.

GLORIANA :- 5 year old mare from the in form stable of NazakChenoy, Gloriana is yet to taste victory in her 6 starts to date but went extremely close on her penultimate run where she made Albareto pull out all the stops before going down fighting by three parts of a length over course and distance. She was understandably a red hot favourite last time out but gave a very insipid performance, only managing to place 6th behind Democrat in a Class IV contest. That may have been an off day for her and she is having just her 7th start so can make further progress and be forgiven the one bad run. P. Trevor retains the ride today and if she can reproduce her earlier effort, then she should be right there with a big chance.

NIGHT WATCH :- 4 year old gelding from the yard of Zadmal Singh, he is making his debut and has a decent pedigree being by Excellent Art out of Heiress and is a full brother to Kora Jade and a half brother to the well performed Chizzler so looks a decent type on pedigree. His track work in the lead up to this run has been quite promising and the booking of A. Imran Khan catches the eye. A paddock check is advised to ascertain his fitness but if looking well, he is an unknown quantity and could very well spring a surprise.

HUDSON :- Unexposed 4 year old from the Malesh Narredu yard, she is a half sister to River Dance and Southern Emperor who won 3 races on the trot in Ooty and hence comes from a well performed Indian family on the dam’s side. She returned from a long lay off last time out to run a respectable 4th to Aurelia over course and distance and is sure to improve considerably for that run and strip fitter. The siblings were all effective at a mile and over so she is likely to come into her own over further in due course but she is open to plenty of improvement today and looks nicely placed on the scales. P.S. Chouhan takes the ride and she is one worth keeping an eye on and could be a good value outsider .

TESSA :- Twice raced 4 year old from the powerful Pesi Shroff yard, this one does not as yet seem to have come to hand and has run poorly in both of her starts so far one apiece in Pune and Mumbai. She finished last of the 12 runners on her only start this season which came about a month ago and may still need some more time before she can be seen to better effect. Neeraj Rawal replaces A. Sandesh in the saddle and she warrants some respect due to her trainer’s lofty reputation but may need more time

CONCLUSION :-This should again be very close between Nembe Greek and Chaplin who finished winner and runner up last time out. The filly did appear to win with a bit in hand and should improve but the presence of David Allan, the rail draw and the weight advantage could tilt the scales marginally in favour of the Todywalla runner and he is given an edge. Glorianacould be a danger if shrugging off her poor last run as also the lightly raced Hudson.

Race No. 7 :- The Villoo Poonawalla Indian Oaks (Grade 1) – Terms, Indian Fillies – 4 Years Old Only – Distance :- 2400M

AUBURN :- 4 year old filly trained by Vishal Gaikwad, she is obviously very highly regarded by connections as she was entered into the Pune Derby on the back of a solitary impressive mile maiden win on just her 3rd career start and found it all too tough to handle at such an early stage and faded after being prominent for a long way. She reappeared just 9 days ago to again win stylishly over a mile and is once again being thrown into the deep end, competing in an Indian Classic with just a 9 day break and being upped markedly in trip. There is plenty of stamina in the pedigree so she is expected to stay and relish more galloping ground and in a year where the field appears to be sorely lacking in quality, she could very well run into a place. A. Sandesh takes the ride and she could be value at an each way price although winning again looks improbable .

BOTTEGA LOUIE :-She has already established herself as an above average sort and has performed with credit in her limited career so far. She has run 5 times till date with a win and two seconds to her name although she was stood down in controversial circumstances on her seasonal appearance where she won on the track but lost the race in the Stewards Room. She finished midfield in the Indian 1000 Guineas, about 4 ½ lengths behind Manifold and a length and a quarter behind Themis but she now takes a big step up in trip and is uncertain to stay on her pedigree with Excellent Art primarily injecting speed into his progeny and the dam Amazing Queen throwing up mainly middle distance performers so far. She will be ridden by C.S. Jodha but seems an unlikely stayer and could be considered a minor berth contender at best.

DAFFODIL :-The first of three runners of a strong Pesi Shroff contingent and she is the 2nd highest rated in this field and will be ridden by N.S. Parmar. Her performances this season have been modest, turned over by Sana as an odds on favourite in the Kolkotta Oaks and then only finishing midfield in the South India 1000 Guineas before returning to Mumbai to end up a poor 2nd to Uncle Scrooge over a mile. Her hopes are pinned on unlocking some improvement in the step up to this trip but otherwise she appears to have the least chance of the yard’s 3 runners.

MANIFOLD :-One of the most seasoned runners in the field, clearly the best performed and also the one most likely to stay, she appears to hold all the aces and looks very hard to oppose with the lack of quality opposition in the field to test her. She was a fluent winner of the Bangalore Summer Derby over 2000M and went down fighting to Lady In Lace in the Deccan Fillies Championship. She was surprisingly well backed in the 1000 Guineas and was enterprisingly ridden but failed to match the speed of the pure milers but was staying on again at the finish, ending a close 4th and 3 ¼ lengths ahead of Themis who was 5th. She should improve substantially for that run and probably peak today and with David Probert in the saddle, she looks almost certain to win this and is strongly fancied.

MERVEILLEUSE :- Very highly regarded by her connections and a fashionably bred got abroad by Mastercraftsman, she made her racing debut a little over a month ago, competing in Class IV over a mile and finishing on strongly in the end to be 3rd to Albareto. She will no doubt improve considerably for that run and has plenty of stamina in her pedigree so is clearly expected to relish more galloping ground but it is a big ask for her to deliver at this level on just her 2nd start. She has been working well since the run and connections are quietly confident of a big effort with NeerajRawal in the saddle. The lack of quality in this field may just allow her to run into a place but it looks very tough to overturn her more illustrious stable companion at this stage.

SELFIE STAR :-  Has a good record of 3 wins from 7 starts so far but another who appears to have serious question marks over her stamina, a point which was vindicated when she started an odds on favourite for the Golconda Oaks but could only manage to finish 5th to Mahateji and was quite well beaten that day. She returns to her home centre to contest the Indian Oaks now and David Allan is a big plus in the saddle. The speed injected by Excellent Art seems to blunt the stamina influence of the dam Maharanee and although her half sister Silver Beauty did finish a good 3rd in this race, she does not look likely to get the trip and would be a rank outsider.

THEMIS :- Comes from the M.K. Jadhav stable and is the representative of the Shirke family here but she herself has performed moderately in her 9 starts till date and Manifold has always gotten the better of her the last several times that the pair have met. Themis has won over 2000M so far and although tackling this trip for the first time, she seems likely to get it. She has 3 ¼ lengths to make up on Manifold on their run in the Indian 1000 Guineas and the main factors in her favour are the presence of P. Trevor in the saddle and the fact that she has been working exceptionally well of late. On form and on ratings, she appears to be the main danger to Manifold and should give her the most to do .

CONCLUSION :-It is hard to look beyond Manifold who enjoys the highest rating in this field, looks the one most likely to stay the trip, has the best form on offer and arguably the best rider in the form of David Probert to ride her. She should be tough to beat if running upto her best and is the confident selection. Themis appears to be the main danger on paper while the lightly raced pair of Merveilleuse and Auburn could run into a place and looks attractive each way options at long odds.

Race No. 8 :- The Rhythm Trophy – Div. II – Class V – Distance :- 1600M

STAR SCHOLAR :- Exposed 5 year old handicapper from the stables of Dallas Todywalla, he has 2 wins to his name from 25 starts but seems to usually run well in this grade and comes into this race in good form having finished runner up to Fantasia over this trip last time out. The winner went on to run well in the higher class and A. Imran Khan retains the ride. He has been working well and looks a strong each way prospect in spite of conceding weight all around.

ARTUS :-Unexposed 4 year old filly from the Nosher Cama yard, she has run 5 times till date, making the frame on 3 occasions and has a nice pedigree which should relish this trip. She has been running suggestively in maidens in her last few starts and had a lung opener already on this track when finishing 5th behind Kimberella over this trip last time out. She makes her handicap debut off what looks a very lenient opening mark, has been working well of late and with P. S. Chouhan booked to ride, she looks a leading fancy in this company .

GNOSTIC EYES :- Another unexposed 4 year old from the stable of Rehanullah Khan, he also has a smart pedigree and steps back up to this trip after having been run over an inadequate 1000M the last twice with feeble riders on board. He has been working very well in the build up to this contest and Bhawani Singh has been booked to ride today. He seems likely to be seen in a much better light over this trip and must be respected in this grade.

ALLEGRIA :- 5 year old maiden trained by Zadmal Singh, she ran a couple of promising thirds earlier in her career but has been woefully out of form in her last few starts and needs to unlock some improvement on the step up to this trip for the first time. She has had 2 runs this season to get her fit and the booking of C.S. Jodha today catches the eye. She could do better with more galloping ground and looks an each way contender here.

SIR SONG :-Fully exposed and aging 7 year old gelding trained by Adhirajsingh Jodha, he is a veteran of 36 races and has managed to win just once so it is hard to fancy him from a win perspective. However, he has come back down to a workable mark now and has several placed efforts to his name in similar contests over the years including a couple of respectable thirds in his last two runs in Pune. He has had a lung opener this season to sharpen him up and Dashrath Singh is an interesting booking so he is clearly fancied today and is another who could fight it out for minor honours.

CONCLUSION :-The well bred and potentially smart 4 year old Artus is the selection here to get the better of another unexposed sort in the form of Gnostic Eyes. Star Scholar looks the best among the older horses
