RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT AN AVERAGE WIDTH OF 4 METRES IN THE 1200 METRES CHUTE. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT AT 1200 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER EXTENDING TO 9 METRES UP TO THE WINNING POST.

RACE NO.1(36)– THE COLOMBIANA PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres – 8 Runners
DESTINED FOR GLORY (D.A.Naik) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.
Soon after the start, GOLDEN HIND (A.Sandesh) was observed to have shifted in on to SAVAGE KINGDOM (S.Zervan). Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned.
App.A.Prakash (LAMBRETTA) has been severely reprimanded for travelling wide throughout the race for no apparent reason.
After the race Jockey S.Zervan (SAVAGE KINGDOM) reported that his mount was inclined to run out negotiating the final bend. Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
RACE NO.2(37) – THE AN ACQUIRED TASTE PLATE : (About) 1800 Metres – 6 Runners
Approaching 900 metres, CELESTIAL LIGHT (A.Sandesh), ELEGANT BEAUTY (App.Gagandeep Mann) and JAGER BOMB (Dashrath Singh) racing in close proximity were observed to have jostled due the bend, as a result of this, ELEGANT BEAUTY was tightened along the rails and lost position.
RACE NO.3(38) – THE PROTEUS PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners
After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh (SHARAREH) reported that his mount was running green and hung-in in the last furlong. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (STORMY ATLANTIC) reported that his mount was running green, particularly in the straight. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
RACE NO.4(39) – THE MIDORI PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1000 Metres – 9 Runners
At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, PRETTY PEACH was examined at the stables at 1050 hours on 09/08/2018 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
At the start, MAESTRO (N. B. Kuldeep, dr. 5) was observed to have jumped out awkwardly throwing its head.
RACE NO.5(40) – THE EVE CHAMPION TROPHY (GR.3) : (About) 2000 Metres – 7 Runners
Soon after the start, AGGREGATED (C. S. Jodha) shifted in thereby tightening SQUARE MOON (Dashrath Singh) forcing the jockey to check his mount and drop back. After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha reported that his mount hung in throughout the race. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race Jockey Yash Narredu (WHOMAKESTHERULES) reported that his mount hung out throughout the race. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the horse.
After the race, AGGREGATED, WHOMAKESTHERULES and SQUARE MOON were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(41) – THE UNICORN PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 14 Runners
On arrival at the start, BENEFICIAL (App.Parbhat Singh) was examined by the Club’s Sr.VO who certified him fit to race.
After being stalled, MINSTREL HEIGHTS (S.Jaykumar) sat on his haunches, as such, the gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr.VO who certified him fit to race.
At the start, GREY FLANNEL (P. S. Chouhan, dr. 2) jumped outwards on to FLAG FLYING (N. Nadeem, dr. 3), who in turn shifted out on to SAWGRASS (Santosh G., dr.4). At the same time, VISTANA (P. Trevor, dr.6) jumped inwards thereby tightening SENSEX (S. A. Amit, dr. 5).
Passing 200 metres, SAWGRASS (Santosh G.) shifted in thereby inconveniencing FLASHY WINGS (Bhawani Singh). Jockey Santosh G. has been cautioned.
App.K.Nazil (DOMINATION) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the Pune meeting, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, MINSTREL HEIGHTS, FLAG FLYING and VISTANA (examined on 12/08/2018) were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.7(42) – THE MIDORI PLATE (DIV.I) : (About) 1000 Metres – 10 Runners
On arrival at the start, GLORIOUS LAND (D.S.Daman) and GODSWORD (Dashrath Singh) were examined by the Club’s Sr.VO who certified them fit to race.
An objection was lodged by Jockey C.S.Jodha, the rider of MALAVIKA (Placed Third) against FINE TUNE (S.Joseph, placed First) and GLORIOUS LAND (D.S.Daman, Placed Second). The reason being, at the 800 metres FINE TUNE (S.Joseph) came in and then shifted to the outside, whereby he got badly checked and dropped his position. Thereafter, GLORIOUS LAND (D.S.Daman) shifted in and tightened him due to which he again dropped his position and his filly being top weight, he lost a certain race.
After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.
At the start, DANCE EMPEROR (G. Amit, dr.2) jumped inwards and went across DREAM TRAIL(P. S. Chouhan, dr.1), forcing the latter to be checked.
Passing 800 metres, due to a tightly packed field, MALAVIKA (C. S. Jodha) was tightened for room and had to be steadied.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 4th, 5th and 7th race, viz. HAMMERSMITH, ABRAXAS, SELFIE STAR and FINE TUNE, as also that of B FIFTY TWO (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS :
RE : RACE NO.14 – THE ALLEY CAT PLATE (DIV.I) RUN ON 26TH JULY, 2018 :
The fine of Rs.1,000/- imposed on Trainer Narendra Lagad for running his charge ROCK IN RIO without the bandages on both fore legs has been rescinded since it was found on reviewing the race that the horse did race with bandages.
