RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT
RACE NO.1(231) –THE P.R.MEHTA TROPHY: (About) 2400 Metres – Runners - 5
GRAND ACCORD (P. Trevor) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle and thereafter lost about a length at the start. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
After the race, JAGER BOMB, GRAND ACCORD and SILVER EDGE were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(232) – THE J.P.VAZIFDAR TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 5
On the arrival at the start, RISING BRAVE (P. S. Chouhan) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race.
After the race, Jockey P. S. Chouhan (RISING BRAVE) reported that passing the 300 metres, he was inconvenienced because of SUMMER RAYS (P. Trevor) shifting in.
RACE NO.3(233) –THE J.RUSTOMJI SOPARIVALA TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 6
CAVAROZZI (N. S. Parmar) took a fly jump thus losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Passing the 400 metres, STRONG STORM (Neeraj Rawal) drifted out and carried CHOSEN ONE (C. S. Jodha) outwards. After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal reported that his mount was running green. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, STRONG STORM was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4(234) –THE FORBES BREEDERS’ JUVENILE FILLIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP (GR.3): (About) 1600 Metres–Runners - 5
Soon after the start, SHAE (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in thereby inconveniencing OOMPH (A. Sandesh). Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been cautioned.
After the race, OOMPH was found to be sore by the right hind leg. Also, the filly had lost her left fore shoe. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
OOMPH (A. Sandesh) was placed fifth by the Judge, in this race.
RACE NO.5(235) –THE RACING WORLD TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres –Runners - 9
At the start, MASTER OF STUDIES (Neeraj Rawal, dr. 4) jumped inwards on to DRAGONMOSS (P. Trevor, dr. 3). Thereafter, MASTER OF STUDIES (Neeraj Rawal) veered outwards on to SUMAAQ (App. G. Amit, dr. 7) who in turn shied outwards on to SAFDAR (App. Shahrukh Khan) due to which, App Shahrukh Khan lost his left stirrup momentarily.
Passing the 300 metres, SUMAAQ (App. G. Amit) shifted in on to MASTER OF STUDIES (Neeraj Rawal) who was weakening along the rails.
After the race, App. G. Amit (SUMAAQ) reported that he lost his whip passing the 350 metres. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, SAFDAR and SAMURAI were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(236) – THE SHAPOORJI PALLONJI BREEDERS’ JUVENILE COLTS’ CHAMPIONSHIP (GR.3): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 8
STAR INSPIRATION (Neeraj Rawal) refused to be stalled with it’s starting stall remark, hence, as per the norms, the gelding was taken in front of the starting gates and was backed in. Considering the fractious behavior of the gelding, Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, HOPE AND GLORY (Y. S. Srinath, dr. 3) jumped outwards on to SPITFIRE (P. Trevor, dr. 4) who had to be steadied.
Passing the 1400 metres, STAR INSPIRATION (Neeraj Rawal) shifted outwards at the same time PULVERIZE (Bhawani Singh) shifted inwards thereby inconveniencing STEPPENWOLF (P. S. Chouhan) and VAN DYKE (A. Sandesh) who were racing directly behind them.
After the race, STAR INSPIRATION, PULVERIZE, STEPPENWOLF and VAN DYKE were trotted and found to be sound.
STEPPENWOLF (P. S. Chouhan) was placed fifth and ROGUE ONE (Dashrath Singh) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.
RACE NO.7(237) –THE PRONTO PRONTO PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres–Runners- 11
Soon after the start, QUEENS BEST (Bhawani Singh) shifted in and went across TRANSFORM (App. H. Zeeshan) who had to be steadied.
Approaching the 800 metres, SPIRIT OF OATH (A. M. Tograllu) clipped the heels of AME (C. S. Jodha) and lost its footing.
Jockey Bhawani Singh (QUEENS BEST) has been fined Rs. 3,000/- for having used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
After the race, AME was found to be sore by the left hind leg. Also, the gelding had a cut injury at the left hind cannon. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, TENERIFE, SPIRIT OF OATH and TRANSFORM were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th race, viz. SAGITTARIUS, IRON AGE, CATALONIA, YELLOWSTONE and STAR SUPERIOR, as also that of MARIETTA (4th race) and SPITFIRE (6th race), and the special sample of OOMPH (4th race) and TRANSFORM (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
