MUMBAI MEETING 2017/18, SIXTEENTH DAY, THURSDAY, 18th JANUARY, 2018.

 RACE DAY REPORTS

(EVENING RACING)

RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1000 METRES AND  THEREAFTER 3 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

RACE NO.1(124) –THE ANMOL PREET PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 11 

 

On a request from Jockey S. S. Baria, the saddle on his mount MASTER SERGEANT was adjusted on arrival at the start.

 

REPLICA (App. D. R. Shubham) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.

 

At the start, IMPOSSIBLE DREAM (Neeraj Rawal, dr. 3) jumped outwards on to ISINIT (Satish Nayak, dr. 4).

 

At the start, SYNCHRONICITY (C. S. Jodha, dr. 5) jumped outwards on to ROMAN GOLD (App. S. Jaykumar, dr. 6).

 

At the start, REPLICA (App. D. R. Shubham, dr.7) was observed to have jumped out throwing its head up.

 

Passing 900 metres, Jockey R. Ajinkya (RICARDUS) tried to force a passage between SYNCHRONICITY (C. S. Jodha) and IMPOSSIBLE DREAM (Neeraj Rawal) where there was insufficient room whereby the horse had to be steadied. Jockey R. Ajinkya has been cautioned

 

Approaching the 800 metres, due to a tightly packed field IMPOSSIBLE DREAM (Neeraj Rawal) dropped back thereby inconveniencing RICARDUS (R. Ajinkya) who had to be steadied.

 

Passing 350 metres, BEYOND FORCES (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted in and went across SYNCHRONICITY (C. S. Jodha), GOLDEN HORDE (App. Santosh G.) and MASTER SERGEANT (S. S. Baria). App. H. Zeeshan has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

ISINIT (Satish Nayak) was observed to have drifted out from the 300 metres despite the Jockey’s efforts. Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

After the race, SYNCHRONICITY, ISINIT and RICARDUS were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(125) – THE BYCULLA CLUB TROPHY: (About) 2800 Metres – Runners - 3

 

PALATIAL (P. Trevor) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.

 

After the race, SQUARE MOON was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The horse has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.3(126) –THE FERRARI PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners- 17 

 

Trainer S. Waheed has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting with his charge DUBROVNIK in this race while the gelding was on Veterinary Ban. The gelding was struck out at the Acceptance stage.

 

MIND THAT BIRD (App. M. Ayyar) refused to be stalled despite multiple attempts, as such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show it to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After being stalled, ART O WAR (App. Raghuveer Singh) reared up and hooked one of its fore legs on the front gate. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

After being stalled, SECOND INNINGS (App. N. B. Kuldeep) was restless in the stall and tried to duck the front gate. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, AURORA AUSTRALIS (B. Nikhil) was observed to be sluggish and shifted out thereby losing considerable ground. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

After the race, ART O WAR was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore cannon. SECOND INNINGS and AURORA AUSTRALIS were found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.4(127)–THE  MAGIC TOUCH PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres–Runners- 11 

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that at the request of Trainer Altaf Hussain, SMOKEY ROSES was examined at the Saddling Enclosure and found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such, the mare was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

THE OTHER SONG (Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.

 

At the start, RESURGE (T. S. Jodha, dr. 2) jumped inwards thereby tightening  ARC OF PASSION (Amyn Merchant, dr.1) who had to be steadied.

 

Passing 1200 metres, DIWALI LIGHTS (Hanumant Singh) shifted in and went across CENTAURUS (App. H. Zeeshan) and TALL STORY (App. Raghuveer Singh). Jockey Hanumant Singh has been cautioned.

 

Passing 300 metres TALL STORY (App. Raghuveer Singh) shifted out on to ARC OF PASSION (Amyn Merchant), who in turn shifted out on to SIMONA (Dashrath Singh) forcing him outwards on to SMART VISION (S. Sunil). Apprentice Raghuveer Singh has been cautioned.

 

App. S. Jaykumar (GRAPEVINE) was observed to have maintained an erratic course in the final 200 metres. After questioning, App. S. Jaykumar has been cautioned.

 

After the race, KOTOR was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, CENTAURUS was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore fetlock. GRAPEVINE and TALL STORY were found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.5(128) – THE GREATER MUMBAI POLICE TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres –Runners- 10 

 

Soon after the start, FAIR WARNING (Y. S. Srinath, dr.7) shifted in and at the same time FURIOUS N’ FAST (P. S. Chouhan, dr. 5) shifted out thereby tightening BROTHERSOFTHEWIND (S. S. Baria, dr.6).

 

Soon after the start, LA MAGNIFIQUE (Neeraj Rawal, dr.10) shifted in and went across AURELIA (P. Trevor, dr. 9) who was slow to begin. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

After the race, FURIOUS N’ FAST was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.6(129) – THE ANMOL PREET PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 11

 

On a report from the Sr. V.O. that COMMANDPERFORMANCE had been accepted to race within 10 days of the gelding having received the Extra Corporeal Shock Wave therapy, the gelding was not permitted to run. Further, Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been fined Rs.10,000/- for his lapse.

 

At the start, TIME OF MY LIFE (S. Zervan, dr. 7) jumped inwards and made contact with ALYATIES (App. H. Zeeshan, dr. 6), who in turn shifted in on to ROYAL BLOOD (App. S. J. Sunil, dr. 5).

 

Passing 500 metres, MILWALKEE (Dashrath Singh) was observed to have drifted out and had to be steadied. After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh reported that his mount hung out. As such, Trainer S. S. Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

Passing 300 metres, DOLPHIN (Imran Chisty) who was racing between ROYAL BLOOD (App. S. J. Sunil) and TIME OF MY LIFE (S. Zervan) was tightened for room and had to be steadied. Thereafter, in the final stages of the race, DOLPHIN (Imran Chisty) drifted out and at the same ADAM’S CREATION (App. Santosh G.) shifted in whereby both the horses had to be steadied.

 

After the race, TIME OF MY LIFE, SPONTANEOUS EDDIE, MILWALKEE and ROYAL BLOOD were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(130) – THE MAGIC TOUCH PLATE (DIV.I) : (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 11 

 

At the request of Trainer S. Waheed, TOWERING STORM was examined at 1700 hours on 17/01/2018 and was found to have capped elbow on the left fore leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

On a request from Jockey S. Zervan, the saddle on his mount GALTERO was adjusted on arrival at the start.

 

VIKING (C. S. Jodha) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Approaching 400 metres, BAY OF LOVE (Hanumant Singh) shifted out and carried ANGEL COIN (Amyn Merchant) outwards thereby inconveniencing SOLO MISSION (Bhawani Singh). Jockey Hanumant Singh has been cautioned.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of TAR HEEL and a report will be submitted shortly

SUBJECT : SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE W.E.F. 18th JANUARY, 2018 TO 21St JANUARY, 2018 (BOTH DAYS INCLUSIVE) FOR INCOMPETENT RIDING ON “RISHAB’S PET” IN RACE NO.69 – THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE TROPHY RUN ON 17th DECEMBER, 2017 – REQUESTFROM JOCKEY A. IMRAN KHAN FOR DEFERMENT OF HIS PUNISHMENT:

 

Vide e-mail dated 15th January, 2018 Jockey A. Imran Khan informed this office that he has a riding engagement (ANGELS TOUCH) in The Villoo Poonawalla Indian Oaks (Gr.I) scheduled to be run on 21st January, 2018 and requested for deferment of his punishment.

 

In view of the above, the Stewards of the Club decided that the suspension of his Jockey’s license will now be from 18th January to 20th January, 2018 and from 22nd January to 25th January, 2018 (both days inclusive).

RE : RACE NO.122 – THE YAWAR RASHID TROPHY (DIV.II) RUN ON 14th JANUARY, 2018:

 

DIVINE MAGIC was declared to run with bandages on both fore legs but ran without bandages, as such, Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been fined Rs.1,000/-  for this lapse.
