RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE UPTO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT AN AVERAGE WIDTH OF 4 METRES FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 2200 METRES UPTO 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(121) – THE PROTEUS PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres – 11 Runners
Soon after the start, WESTERN LIGHTS (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing COMMANDPERFORMANCE (Prashant P. Dhebe), ETTIHAAD (B. Nikhil) and HARMONY (Dashrath Singh). Thereafter, passing the 1100 metres WESTERN LIGHTS (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted in and went across BLACK JAGUAR (App. Raghuveer Singh) who clipped the heels of the former and stumbled. App. H. Zeeshan has been suspended for one race day i.e. on 7th October, 2017 for careless riding.
After the race, WESTERN LIGHTS, DIVINE ANGEL and COMMANDPERFORMANCE (examined on 18/09/2017) were trotted and found to be sound. WESTERN LIGHTS had a cut injury at the right hind hock.
RACE NO.2(122) – THE ACCESS ALL AREAS PLATE : (About) 2400 Metres – 5 Runners
After the race, LADY BE GOOD was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, CARNIVAL and RITZ were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(123) – THE SERUM INSTITUTE OF INDIA TROPHY : (About) 1000 Metres – 6 Runners
After the race, CEZANNE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, UNDISPUTED and KRAMER were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4(124) – THE RAO SAHEB KEDARI GOLD TROPHY:(About) 1400 Metres – 14 Runners
SET TO FLY (Bhawani Singh) and HIROHAMA (N. S. Parmar) jumped out slow losing about 4 lengths each at the start. Trainers Subhag Singh and B. Prakash have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, VISION OF ROMANCE (App. R. Ajinkya, dr. 4) jumped outwards due to which, AN JOLIE (Yash Narredu, dr. 5) shied outwards and made contact with UNCLE SCROOGE (A. Sandesh, dr. 6) who was inclined to shift in.
Approaching the 700 metres, ALTUS (App. D. R. Shubham) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing RAPID GIRL (App. S. A. Amit).
After the race, CRACKLIN’ ROSIE and STREETJAMMER were trotted and found to be sound. CRACKLIN’ ROSIE had a cut injury at the right hind hock.
RACE NO.5(125) – THE VILLOO C.POONAWALLA MILLION: (About) 1200 Metres – 6 Runners
Approaching the 300 metres, COLLEGIUM (A. Imran Khan) was denied of a clear passage and had to be steadied.
The Equine Hospital reported that MAGIC DUST had right eye injury (corneal ulcer with opacity).
After the race, COLLEGIUM was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind coronet.
WABI SABI (Dashrath Singh) was placed fifth and MAGIC DUST (Prashant P. Dhebe) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.
RACE NO.6(126) – THE S.A.POONAWALLA MILLION (GR.3) : (About) 1600 Metres – 5 Runners
Approaching the 1300 metres, in an effort to settle his mount Jockey A. Sandesh (BATELEUR) shifted in making contact with SELFIE STAR (Y. S. Srinath) who had to be steadied.
Passing the 100 metres, PURE ZINC (A. Imran Khan) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing BATELEUR (A. Sandesh). After the race, Jockey A. Imran Khan reported that his mount hung-in despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.
After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (BATELEUR) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer Vishal Gaikwad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.
SUMMER RAYS (Suraj Narredu) was placed fifth by the Judge, in this race.
RACE NO.7(127) – THE CARDINAL PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners
Soon after the start, ANGELS HARMONY (App. S. A. Amit) shifted out and made contact with TRIPLE THREAT (P. S. Chouhan).
Approaching the 900 metres, COSA NOSTRA (Amyn Merchant) shifted in thereby tightening VOULEZ VOUS (Raghuveer Singh) along the rails.
Approaching the 400 metres, FURIOSA (M. A. Roushan) weakened and dropped back inconveniencing AIRLIFT (C. S. Jodha) and VOULEZ VOUS (Raghuveer Singh).
Passing the 300 metres, TRIPLE THREAT (P. S. Chouhan) shifted out and went across COSA NOSTRA (Amyn Merchant) who had to be steadied

After the race, TRIPLE THREAT and FURIOSA (examined on 18/09/2017) were trotted and found to be sound. ANGELS HARMONY had a gum injury.
RACE NO.8(128) – THE NEONA PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners
WHAT A NICE GIRL (App. N. Nadeem) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.
At the start, CAPTAIN (A. Sandesh, dr. 2) jumped inwards and made contact with WHAT A NICE GIRL (App. N. Nadeem, dr. 1).
The saddle used on CHARMING (App. S. Jaykumar) was observed to have slipped back. On questioning, App. S. Jaykumar stated that at his request, his saddle was adjusted before stalling. Thereafter his mount reared up in the gate at which time his saddle may have slipped.
After the race, ROCK IN RIO was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th race, viz. HARMONY, GOD’S OWN, UNCLE SCROOGE, GALLANT KNIGHT and PURE ZINC, as also that of BATELEUR (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
