RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 6 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE UP TO 1000 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 9 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT AT 1400 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY FROM 1200 METRES UP TO 1000 METRES.
RACE NO.1(24) – THE RADIANT PLATE : (About) 1800 Metres – 5 Runners
WIZARD OF ODDS (Neeraj Rawal) jumped out slow losing about two lengths at the start.
In the final stages of the race, STAR SCHOLAR (P. Trevor) was observed to have hung in and had to be steadied. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures.
After the race, STAR SCHOLAR and SIR SONG were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(25) – THE CABRIOLET PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 5 Runners
In the final stages of the race, DAUGHTEROFTHESUN (C. S. Jodha) and ZANARA (P. Trevor) were observed to have drifted out under pressure.
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (COLLEGIUM) reported that his mount hung in under pressure. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures.
After the race, Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe (SHAKIN STEVENS) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures.
After the race, COLLEGIUM, SHAKIN STEVENS, DAUGHTEROFTHESUN and ZANARA were trotted and found to be sound. COLLEGIUM had a wolf tooth on the left side.
RACE NO.3(26) – THE HURRICANE PLATE (DIV.II):(About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners
SAFFRON FLOWER (S. A. Amit) took a fly jump. PARDON MY DUST (T. S. Jodha) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.
At the start, IN IT TO WIN IT (D. S. Daman, dr. 8) jumped inwards and made contact with CAMOUFLAGED (C. S. Jodha, dr. 7).
Passing the 500 metres, YUTAKA (Vikram Jodha) shifted in due to which TOWER BRIDGE (Prashant P. Dhebe) shied inwards and bumped SAFFRON FLOWER (S. A. Amit) forcing him inwards thereby tightening and forcing GALLANT KNIGHT (A. Sandesh) to check and drop back. Jockey Vikram Jodha has been cautioned.
Passing the 150 metres, MYGRATOR (Yash Narredu) shied outwards thereby taking the ground of TOWER BRIDGE (Prashant P. Dhebe) who had to check and change course thereby inconveniencing GALLANT KNIGHT (A. Sandesh).
The saddle used on SPINNING GOLD (Nirmal Jodha) was observed to have shifted forward. Trainer Magansingh P. Jodha has been fined 2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.
Two objections were lodged in this race. The first objection was lodged by Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe, the rider of TOWER BRIDGE (Placed Third) against Jockey Yash Narredu (MYGRATOR, Placed First). The reason being, in the last 200 metres, MYGRATOR came on to him and bumped his filly, knocking her completely out of stride and breaking her momentum at the most crucial stage of the race when she was covering ground and was about to pass MYGRATOR in the next couple of strides. In this process he was completely unbalanced and this cost him a certain race.
The second objection was lodged by Jockey A. Sandesh, the rider of GALLANT KNIGHT (Placed Second) against Jockey Yash Narredu (MYGRATOR, Placed First). The reason being, in the last 200 metres, MYGRATOR came out at which time his horse was full of running and he had to stop riding for a few strides. His horse was the fastest moving despite the check and if not for the check he would have won the race.
After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule both the objections.
After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha (CAMOUFLAGED) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting with the gelding to race.
After the race, SAFFRON FLOWER was observed to have an abrasion at the right fore cannon.
RACE NO.4(27) – THE PUNE BOOKMAKERS’ ASSOCIATION TURF CLUB TROPHY (GR.3): (About) 1400 Metres – 8 Runners
In the last 50 metres, ST. ANDREWS (Prashant P. Dhebe) shifted out and made contact with DANCING PRANCES (A. Imran Khan). On questioning Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe stated that his mount was inclined to run out from the 200 metres despite his efforts.
Jockey Imran A. Khan (DANCING PRANCES) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence, he has been fined Rs. 5,000/-.
After the race, DANCING PRANCES had a cut injury at the left hind cannon.
RACE NO.5(28) – THE CONRAD, PUNE SALVER: (About) 1000 Metres – 10 Runners
Soon after the start, FLAG FLYING (App. N. Nadeem) shifted out on to HOUSE OF COMMONS (P. Trevor) thereafter shifted in thereby tightening CHARGING TIGRESS (D. S. Daman). App. N. Nadeem has been cautioned.
Passing the 500 metres, CHARGING TIGRESS (D. S. Daman) was observed to have been forcing a passage between HOUSE OF COMMONS (P. Trevor) and FLAMBOYANT FLAME (Yash Narredu). Jockey D. S. Daman has been cautioned.
Passing the 350 metres, VICTORIO (App. Vishal N. Bunde) was hampered along the rails.
Passing the 100 metres, WISE CHILD (A. Sandesh) shied outwards taking the ground of HOUSE OF COMMONS (P. Trevor).
Passing the 100 metres, VICTORIO (App. Vishal N. Bunde) shifted in thereby tightening ART DECO (S. J. Sunil) along the rails.
After the race, App. Vishal N. Bunde (VICTORIO) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures.
The Sr.V.O. reported that VICTORIO was examined at the stables in the morning on 07/08/2017 and found to be sound in trot.
RACE NO.6(29) – THE MOOSA M.HOOSEIN TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 14 Runners
At the start, DIVINE MAGIC (Raghuveer Singh, dr. 6) jumped outwards on to BEE QUIRKY (App. N. Nadeem, dr. 7).
At the start, SHAPE THE SCAPE (S. A. Amit, dr. 2) jumped outwards and made contact with ADELE (Altaf Sayyed, dr. 3) who in turn shifted out and made contact with ROYAL ACE (Sandeep Jadhav, dr. 4).
Soon after the start, SLAM DUNK (D. S. Daman) shifted in and went across BEE QUIRKY (App. N. Nadeem) who in turn shifted in tightening WAY AHEAD (A. Imran Khan) along the rails forcing the latter to check and change course thereby inconveniencing DIVINE MAGIC (Raghuveer Singh).
Approaching the 300 metres, ADELE (Altaf Sayyed) shifted in and made contact with DOLPHIN (M. A. Roushan) who had to be steadied. Jockey Altaf Sayyed has been severely reprimanded.
After the race, PHILADELPHIA was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind cannon and had lost its right hind shoe. SHIVALIK SKIES was found to be sound in trot.
RACE NO.7(30) – THE HURRICANE PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners
BABY FACE (D.S.Daman) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. The gelding was taken out and was re-stalled. Trainer Magansingh P. Jodha has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Approaching 1000 metres, RINCON (C. S. Jodha) shifted out onto DRAGONMOSS (Nirmal Jodha) who in turn shied outwards onto STALLONE (M. A. Roushan). Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.
After the race, STALLONE was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th race, viz. STAR SCHOLAR, DAUGHTEROFTHESUN, ACCOLADE and MY BLESSINGS, as also that of YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY (4th race), and the special sample of COLLEGIUM (2nd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
