MUMBAI MEETING 2016/17, THIRD DAY, SUNDAY, 27th NOVEMBER, 2016.

(PENETROMETER: 4.3; GOING: GOOD)

RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 8 METRES AWAY FROM  ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 10 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 12 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 13 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.  FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT AT 1200 METRES AND 10 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES. 

 

RACE NO.1(16) –THE P.D.BOLTON TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 3 

 

After the race, SHIVALIK SHINE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(17) – THE STYLECRACKER BOROUGH STAKES: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 3

          

Passing 800 metres, JOSS (Bhawani Singh) was observed to have brushed the rails.

 

Passing 300 metres, VULCAN (P. Trevor), FROSTY (Neeraj Rawal) and JOSS (Bhawani Singh) were observed to have drifted out. As such, Trainers Adhirajsingh Jodha, P. Shroff and Zadmal Singh have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charge, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (VULCAN) reported that passing 1400 metres his mount shied outwards and had to be steadied

 

After the race, VULCAN was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(18) – THE MAHARAJA OF MORVI TROPHY : (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 3 

 

In the final stages of the race, SUPREME GENERAL (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in due to which Jockey A. Sandesh (ARAK) had to change course and as a result drifted out.

 

After the race, SUPREME GENERAL was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(19) – THE ROYAL CALCUTTA TURF CLUB TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 6 

 

At the start, CRITICS CHOICE (A. Sandesh, dr. 6) jumped inwards and made contact with THE CHAMP (P. Trevor, dr.5).

 

Passing 100 metres, Jockey Dashrath Singh (DEEP DIVER) was observed to have lost his whip. This being his first offence, he has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (RENEE) reported that his mount shifted out in the final stages of the race.

 

After the race, DANCING PHOENIX and RENEE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(20) – THE  STYLECRACKER SPRINT: (About) 1000 Metres –Runners- 6

 

At the start, STAR COMRADE (P. S. Chouhan, dr.3) jumped outwards due to which CYCLONE (S. J. Sunil, dr.4) shifted out on to MULTISTAR (C. S. Jodha, dr. 5).

 

Soon after the start, STAR COMRADE (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in thereby inconveniencing KING OF KILLEN (S. Zervan). On questioning, Jockey P. S. Chouhan stated that his mount had maintained an erratic course. Trainer Karthik G. has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Soon after the start, MULTISTAR (C. S. Jodha) shifted in and made contact with CYCLONE (S. J. Sunil) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening CLASSICUS (Bhawani Singh) along the rails. On questioning, Jockey C. S. Jodha stated that his mount was running green and maintained an erratic course. As such, Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Jockey S. J. Sunil (CYCLONE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. On questioning, Jockey S. J. Sunil stated that his mount hung-in in the straight and that the whip was used as a corrective measure. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting the gelding to race.

 

After the race, STAR COMRADE and MULTISTAR were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(21) – THE M.H.AHMEDBHOY TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 9 

 

FLASHING HONOUR (Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Passing 300 metres, VOLANTIS (A. Sandesh) drifted out despite the efforts by the Jockey to maintain a straight course. As such, Trainer M. Narredu has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

In the final stages of the race, COVERT ACTION (T. S. Jodha) shifted in on to DIABLO (App. K. Nazil) and was steadied. Thereafter, MARISKA (N. S. Parmar) shifted in and tightened COVERT ACTION T. S. Jodha) who in turn tightened DIABLO (App. K. Nazil). Jockey N. S. Parmar has been cautioned.

 

After the race, COMIC TIMING, ROYAL CLASSIC, VOLANTIS and RAEES were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd, 4th and 6th race, viz. SUPREME GENERAL, CRITICS CHOICE and VOLANTIS, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE: APPEAL FROM JOCKEY P. S. CHOUHAN AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS SUSPENDING HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE FOR ONE RACE DAY I.E. 8/12/2016 FOR CARELESS RIDING  ON HIS MOUNT “MINSTREL HEIGHTS” IN RACE NO.5 – THE ROTARIAN MUNJAL SHARAD SHAH MILLION, RUN ON SUNDAY, 20th NOVEMBER, 2016 :

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 27th November, 2016 considered appeal from Jockey P. S. Chouhan in the above connection. The Stewards considered all papers and proceedings and having heard Jockey P. S. Chouhan and having viewed the video of the race, decided to reject the appeal.
