RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE, 4 METRES AWAY AT 900 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES UP TO 1000 METRES.
RACE NO.1 (142) – THE WARSAW PACT TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners
Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been fined Rs.2,000/- for error in the starting declaration in respect to shoes worn by his charge ZABISCO.
MOTHERLAND (A. Sandesh) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. The filly jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Jockey P. Trevor (AME) has been fined Rs.5,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (MOTHERLAND) reported that his mount was fractious in the stall and was slow to begin.
After the race, Trainer Narendra Lagad (RIOT OF COLOURS) expressed his dissatisfaction with his Jockey D. S. Daman for having repeatedly looked over his shoulder during the race. The Stipendiary Stewards would be looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of MOTHERLAND and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, MOTHERLAND was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2 (143) – THE WARSAW PACT TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 9 Runners
ALIEN (App. N. Nadeem) took a fly jump.
At the start, ADVANCE TO CONTACT (Bhawani Singh, dr.2) jumped outwards, due to which ALFREDO (Santosh. G, dr.3) shied outwards thereby inconveniencing CRISTO BOSS (Shrikant Kamble, dr.4).
Passing 700 metres, ART DECO (P. Trevor) shifted in and went across ALFREDO (Santosh G.) who had to be checked. Jockey P. Trevor has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
The Sr. V.O. reported that after completion of the race, AFREDO showed signs of discomfort. The gelding was given cold water wash and First Aid treatment and thereafter taken to the stables for further management.
After the race, ART DECO was trotted and found to be sound. FABIO had lost its left fore plate
RACE NO.3(144) – THE PELICAN TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners
DUBROVNIK (Suraj Narredu) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
FORWARD THRUST (N. S. Parmar) lost about 2 lengths at the start.
At the start, DUBROVNIK (Suraj Narredu, dr.7) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.
Approaching 1000 metres, FIREBOLT (Dashrath Singh) shifted out and went across FORWARD THRUST (N. S. Parmar) who had to be checked. Thereafter, FIREBOLT further shifted out on to BOHEMIAN (Vikram Jodha) inconveniencing the latter. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been fined Rs.3,000/-
Passing 200 metres, MULTISTAR (C. S. Jodha) shifted out thereby taking the ground of TREVELYAN (Neeraj Rawal), who in turn shifted out on to FIREBOLT (Dashrath Singh). On questioning, Jockey C. S. Jodha stated that his mount ran green and had maintained an erratic course. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, DUBROVNIK and MULTISTAR were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4 (145) – THE SWEET MEMORIES TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – 12 Runners
At the start, TIP TOP TAFFY (D. S. Daman, dr.3) jumped outwards on to SAMURAI (App. Vishal N. Bunde, dr.4) who went on to CHIVALROUS KNIGHT (Kishore Kadam, dr. 5) who in turn shifted out and bumped JIBUTI (Sandeep Jadhav, dr. 6) forcing the latter to be checked.
At the start, SANSA (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.11) who was drawn between SHIVALIK PRINCESS (Neeraj Rawal, dr.10) and TENNESSEE (App. K. Nazil, dr.12), was tightened for room.
Passing 1400 metres, due to a tightly packed field, GLORIOUS HYMN (P. Trevor) had to be checked and dropped back.
Approaching 300 metres, TIP TOP TAFFY (D. S. Daman) shifted out thereby inconveniencing SANSA (Akshay Gaikwad).
Approaching 100 metres, MANO NA MANO (R. Shelar) was observed to have lost his footing and had to be steadied.
After the race, AVAKRAZ was trotted and found to be sound, but having a cut injury above the left hock.
RACE NO.5(146) – THE SOUTHERN COMMAND GOLD TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – 5 Runners
At the start, CONGRESSIONAL (Neeraj Rawal, dr.1) jumped outwards on to BRAHMACHARI (P. Trevor, dr. 2), who in turn shifted out thereby inconveniencing RULE DOWNUNDER (C. S. Jodha, dr.3).
Passing 1000 metres, STRATEGIC MOVE (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in on to BRAHMACHARI (P. Trevor) who had to be checked. Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Jockey Suraj Narredu (COMMANDER) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his third offence during the current Pune Meeting, his Jockey’s license has been suspended w.e.f. 15th October, 2016 to 16th October, 2016 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).
After the race, STRATEGIC MOVE and CONGRESSIONAL were trotted and found to be sound. STRATEGIC MOVE had a gum injury.
RACE NO.6(147) – THE PELICAN TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners
PEACE TIME (Shrikant Kamble) jumped out slow, losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, AURODEN (Abhishek Habbu, dr.6) jumped inwards on to ABU AL BUKHOOSH (C. S. Jodha, dr.5).
At the start, JE SUIS (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3) jumped outwards on to GALTERO (N. S. Parmar, dr.4).
Soon after the start, FIRENZE (S. Zervan, dr.7) shifted in thereby inconveniencing AURODEN (Abhishek Habbu, dr.6).
Approaching the 600 metres, FIRENZE (S. Zervan) was observed to have shifted out inconveniencing BENEFICIAL (N. B. Kuldeep).
Passing 300 metres, QUIXOTIC (Suraj Narredu) was observed to have maintained an erratic course.
After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (GALTERO) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer C. Rajendra has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, ABU AL BUKHOOSH, GALTERO and QUIXOTIC were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.7(148) – THE DAMODARAN D.PILLAI TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres – 12 Runners
Trainer Mansoor Shah has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to submit on time, the consent from Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, master of App. Raghuveer Singh who he declared on his charge CENTAURUS.
Passing 1200 metres, GREGORIAN CHANTS (Neeraj Rawal) weakened and dropped back thereby inconveniencing CENTAURUS (App. Raghuveer Singh) who was racing directly behind him.
Passing 800 metres, MAGIC VISION (Akshay Gaikwad) shifted in and went across AEOLUS MAXIMUS (Bhawani Singh) who had to be checked. Jockey Akshay Gaikwad has been cautioned.
The Sr. V.O. reported that TORREZZO was examined at the stables in the morning on 26/09/2016 and found to be sore by the right fore leg. Also, the gelding had a clip injury on the right fore coronet and bulb of heel. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, CENTAURUS was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.8(149) – THE CHANGE OF LUCK TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners
Trainer Mansoor Shah has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to submit on time, the consent from Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, master of App. S. A. Amit who he declared on his charge WINGS OF GLORY.
SINDBAAD (S. Zervan) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, CEZANNE (C. S. Jodha, dr.1) jumped outwards due to which WINGS OF GLORY (App. S. A. Amit, dr.2) shifted out and at the same time MY FREEDOM (Dashrath Singh, dr.5) jumped inwards, as a result HUNT FOR HEADS (N. S. Parmar, dr.3) and PALACE GIRL (Kishore Kadam, dr.4) received interference. Thereafter, WINGS OF GLORY (App. S. A. Amit) further shifted out and bumped HUNT FOR HEADS (N. S. Parmar), who in turn went on to MY FREEDOM (Dashrath Singh).
Approaching 800 metres, WINGS OF GLORY (App. S. A. Amit) shifted out on to DAZZLING DANCER (A. Sandesh), who in turn shifted out thereby inconveniencing PALACE GIRL (Kishore Kadam).
After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh (MY FREEDOM) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, VISTANA, CEZANNE, SHANIA, WINGS OF GLORY, HUNT FOR HEADS and MY FREEDOM were trotted and found to be sound. CEZANNE had a gum injury.

BIDSTONE HILL, (1st race), GRAN PARADISO (2nd race), FORWARD THRUST (3rd race), DAYDREAMER (4th race), COMMANDER (5th race), QUIXOTIC (6th race), STRIKING STORY (7th race) and VALENTINO (8th race), and the special sample of MOTHERLAND & STRIDES AHEAD (1st race), ART DECO (2nd race) and ABU AL BUKHOOSH (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
