RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 5 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(320) – THE W.BUCKLEY PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 9

After the race, WIZARD OF ODDS and PRACS were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.2(321) – THE STORM AGAIN TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners – 4 – NO REPORT

RACE NO.3(322) – THE A.F.S.TALYARKHAN TROPHY (DIV.II): ( About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 9

At the start, FORWARD THRUST (N. S. Parmar, dr.6) jumped outwards on to MASKED BANDITO (B. Nikhil, dr.7) who in turn shifted out and made contact with PEONY (Kishore Kadam, dr.8).

Passing 800 metres, FORWARD THRUST (N. S. Parmar) shifted in on to HURRICANE STORM (App. Bhawani Singh) thereby inconveniencing the latter.

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (FORWARD THRUST) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race. Trainer S. Mangalorkar has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, HURRICANE STORM was found to be sound in the trot, but having a cut injury at the left hind pastern. KNIGHT AT ARMS and FORWARD THRUST were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.4(323) – THE S.A.WAHID PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 12

At the start, DANCING LORD (App. Santosh G. dr.10) shifted in despite the App. Jockey’s effort and cut across DANCING PRETTY (A. Sandesh, dr.9) and BLAVATSKY (App. R. Ajinkya, dr.8). On questioning, App. Santosh G. stated that his mount hung in. Trainer C. Rajendra has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

Soon after the start, SHE’S AN ACE (S. Sunil, dr.7) was observed to have shifted in thereby cutting across the field. On questioning, Jockey S. Sunil stated that his mount had hung in despite his efforts. Since the filly had behaved in a similar manner in the past, Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock race, before next accepting to race.

Passing 600 metres, SHE’S AN ACE (S. Sunil) shifted in on to AEOLUS MAXIMUS (B. Nikhil) who had to be steadied.

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of COLEY and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, DANCING LORD, NIGHT OF STARS and AEOLUS MAXIMUS were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.5(324)–THE KINGFISHER ULTRA SUNDOWNER CHALLENGE (DIV.II):(About) 1000 Mts– Runners -7

The Sr. V.O. reported that after being stalled, ZAHRAZAN put her head down between her fore legs and stood awkwardly. The filly did not come out from the hind gate, hence efforts were made to take her out from the front gate during which process she got stuck under the gates. The filly was taken out and examined and was observed to be sound, except a small bruise on the left thigh, hence she was allowed to race. The filly returned sound after the race. She was again examined at the stables in the morning on 17/04/2016 and was found to be sound when trotted and there was no swelling on the left thigh.

STORMY PRINCESS (Kiran Naidu) was fractious and refused to be stalled, as such, the mare was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Arif Patel has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

At the start, SPEAR OF TRIUM (Hindu Singh, dr.3) jumped awkwardly outwards and at the same time BE CAUTIOUS (App. Yash Narredu, dr. 5) jumped inwards, due to which MAGNUM OPUS (Dashrath Singh, dr. 4) was tightened for room and had to be checked.

Soon after the start, BE CAUTIOUS (App. Yash Narredu) shifted in under urgings thereby cutting across SPEAR OF TRIUM (Hindu Singh). App. Yash Narredu has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

Passing 300 metres, WIND CRAFT (A. Sandesh) was observed to have shifted in, as a result App. Vishal (ZAHRAZAN) had to check his mount and change course and in doing so, inconvenienced NIRBHAYA (App. Jaykumar). Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.

After the race, NIRBHAYA was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, BE CAUTIOUS was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(325)–THE KINGFISHER ULTRA SUNDOWNER CHALLENGE (DIV.I):(About)1000 Mts–Runners -9

At the start, CANNONBALL RUN (B. Nikhil, dr.5) jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with ROMANTIC LASS (A. Sandesh, dr.6).

Passing 450 metres, CANNONBALL RUN (B. Nikhil) shifted out on to WINGS OF GLORY (P. Trevor), inconveniencing the latter. Jockey B. Nikhil has been cautioned.

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of INCENTIO and a report will be submitted shortly

After the race, INDIAN SERENADE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, INCENTIO, TAP DANCE, WINGS OF GLORY and INDIAN SERENADE were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.7(326) – THE A.F.S.TALYARKHAN TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres– Runners – 9

HIT IT A BOMB (S. Zervan) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

At the start, CENTURIO (S. P. Ranjane, dr.4) jumped outwards and BENEFICIAL (App. N. B. Kuldeep, dr.7) jumped inwards, due to which RAASCALLA (B. Nikhil, dr.6) and FROSTED (A. Sandesh, dr.5) were hampered for room and had to be checked.

Soon after the start, ROCK IN RIO (Dashrath Singh) shifted in thereby inconveniencing RAASCALLA (B. Nikhil)

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (FROSTED) reported that his bridle was displaced at about 600 metres. Trainer Imitiaz A. Sait has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty application of the equipment on his charge.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. KOAL (1^st race), MELINDA (2^nd race), MISS ARAZAN (3^rd race), SANS PEUR (4^th race), BE CAUTIOUS (5^th race), NASCAR (6^th race) and ARABELLE (7^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
