RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES WIDE FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 2000 METRES TO 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 4 METRES WIDE TILL THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES (CHUTE) TO 1000 METRES.
RACE NO.1(27) – THE AGNI PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 7 Runners
Approaching 900 metres, MYTHICAL SUNRISE (App Shahrukh Khan) shifted in, causing interference to ACKER BILK (App.K.N.Bhati) who was racing on his inside. After questioning App.Sharukh Khan, he was cautioned and informed that he has to be sufficiently clear of the other runners before changing course.
RACE NO.2(28) – THE THANDA PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – 9 Runners
Jockey Kishore Kadam (STRIKING STORY) reported that soon after the start CARMA (App.R.Ajinkya) shifted in causing him to lose position.
Passing the 1800 metres, SABIQ (Neeraj Rawal) marginally shifted in on to PRETTY LIGHTS (App.S.J.Sunil) who in turn went on to CARMA (App.R.Ajinkya) causing him to check and drop back. Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated in the matter.
App.S.J.Sunil (PRETTY LIGHTS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit. Since the filly lugged-in in the straight and the whip was used as a corrective measure, no action has been initiated against App.S.J.Sunil. However, Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
App. R.Ajinkya (CARMA) reported that his mount did not respond to his urging in the straight.
Jockey Neeraj Rawal (SABIQ) reported that his mount leaned inwards in the straight. Trainer C.Rajendra has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
Apprentice Bhwavani Singh (ALLEGIANCE) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Jockey Kishore Kadam (STRIKING STORY) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
After the race, CARMA, SABIQ, PLATED and ALLEGIANCE were found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(29) – THE DR.S.R.CAPTAIN TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – 5 Runners
App.Yash Narredu (STARISTOCRAT) reported that he could not make a move near 600 metres due to SIMPLY SWEET (C. S. Jodha) shifting in.
SIMPLY SWEET (C.S.Jodha) was observed to shift in passing the 600 metres and bumped STARISTOCRAT (App.Yash Narredu) who in turn went onto DESERT WINGS (Satish Nayak) who was forced to check his mount and dropped back. After questioning Jockey C.S.Jodha and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, he was fined Rs.2,000/-.
Jockey Satish Nayak (DESERT WINGS) reported that his mount did not settle initially.
After the race, STARISTOCRAT was found to be sound.
RACE NO.4(30) – THE STORM PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 14 Runners
MAKE WAY FOR ME (Kavraj Singh) swayed its had to the left as the start was effected thereby inconveniencing the brisk removal of its blindfold, as a result the gelding lost 2 lengths at the start. CRITICAL STRIKE (J.E.Pereira) also lost 2 lengths at the start.
CENTAURUS (App.K.N.Bhati, dr.13) shifted out soon after the start.
UKULELE (App.S.J.Sunil) shifted in sharply soon after the start and went across MAGIC VISION (R.Shelar), ZAMBIAN (App.Yash Narredu) and HEART OF THE CITY (App.S.Joseph). App.S.J.Sunil has been fined 3,000/-.
Jockey Shrikant Kamble (HABIBIANS) reported that that his mount was not ready at the start and when he jumped out the gelding threw his head up and galloped awkwardly.
Jockey J.E.Pereira (CRITICAL STRIKE) reported that his mount was slow at the start and subsequently ran erratic.
App.S.J.Sunil (UKULELE) reported the loss of whip in the straight. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into this matter and will submit a report shortly.
App.Yash Narredu (ZAMBIAN) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight and also brushed against the rails. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of MAKE ME FOR ME and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, UKULELE was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind cannon and fetlock and MOROCCAN had an abrasion at the left hind cannon and hock. SPANISH SAGA, CENTAURUS (examined on 03/08/2015), MAKE WAY FOR ME (examined on 03/08/2015) and ZAMBIAN (examined on 03/08/2015), were found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(31) – THE ENTREPRENEURS’ ORGANIZATION, PUNE AUGUST HANDICAP:
(About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners
The saddle on MALEFICENT was observed to have slipped back during the race. Trainer P.Shroff has been fined 2000/-.
TOP WIZARD (Shrikant Kamble) shifted in soon after the start and went across SIMPLY SHINING (App.Yash Narredu)) who was slowly out.
Jockey Dashrath Singh (MULTIGLORY) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race whereby he could not ride out. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Near 1200 metres, SHADOWFAX (C.S.Jodha) lost ground due to MULTIGLORY (Dashrath Singh) shifting in.
App. S.J. Sunil (JAZZMYN) has been fined 1,000/- for excessive and improper use of the whip on his mount.
Jockey P.Trevor (MALEFICENT) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
After the race, SAKER and MULTIGLORY were found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(32) – THE POTENTIAL CHAMPION TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 12 Runners
Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been fined 1,000/- for declaring incorrect shoeing on his charge BELIEVER wherein the filly was declared to have Aluminium plates but on examination was found to have Aluminium, both fore speed toe.
App.S.J.Sunil (BELIEVER) reported that his mount ran green during the race Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
RACE NO.7(33) – THE CACOPHONY PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 15 Runners
ANCIENT TREASURE (V.Chandrakant) who was sitting well up with the front runners up to 600 metres, started dropping back thereafter and approaching the 500 meters the horse shifted in and made contact with LEGEND OF THE SEAS (App.Bhawani Singh) and then shifted out on to AZADEGAN who was racing on his outside and at this juncture LEGEND OF THE SEAS shifted out and went across ANCIENT TREASURE who clipped the heals of LEGEND OF THE SEAS, stumbled and fell. App.Bhawani Singh was reported to the Stewards for careless riding.
The Stewards considered the above report and having viewed the race, held the view that it was dangerous riding on the part of App.Bhawani Singh and not careless riding as reported.
The Stewards interviewed App.Bhawani Singh who was accompanied by his Master, Tr.Altamaash Ahmed and having heard them and viewing the video of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by App.Bhawani Singh and held him guilty of dangerous riding on his mount LEGEND OF THE SEAS. In that, he had shifted out approaching 500 metres and cut across ANCIENT TREASURE (V.Chandrakant) who clipped the heels of LEGEND OF THE SEAS, stumbled and fell. However, keeping in mind that ANCIENT TREASURE was tiring and running erratic and dropping back further considering his clean record, the Stewards took a lenient view and decided to suspend his Apprentice Jockey’s license w.e.f. 22nd August, 2015 to 6th September 2015 (both days inclusive) for dangerous riding. Further, he was severely warned for the future. (permitted to ride work/mock race).
Jockey J.E.Pereira (MAGIC IN THE AIR) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount, this being his second offence he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Jockey N.S.Parmar (STAYING ALIVE) reported that he did not get a clear run throughout the race
Jockey S.Zervan (GERONIMO) reported that his mount ran green. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Jockey Suraj Narredu (ATOMIC) reported that coming into the straight his mount packed up.
The Sr.V.O. reported that ANCIENT TREASURE stumbled and fell passing 600 metres, The horse was given First Aid treatment and brought to the Saddling Enclosure by Horse Ambulance. On examination, the horse was found to be sore from the right fore leg and having abrasion at the right knee area. The horse has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, BAY OF SECRETS, NEPTUNE’S OCEAN and ATOMIC were found to be sound.
RACE NO.8(34) – THE STAR COMRADE PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 13 Runners
At the request of Trainer Nina M.Lalvani, NUSH was examined at 2000 hours on 31/07/2015 and was found to show symptoms of colic. As such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a Fitness Certificate for the mare from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, ICE AGE and HOME ADVANTAGE were found to be sound.

SPEAR OF TRIUM (1st race), PRETTY LIGHTS (2nd race), EDUARDO (3rd race), HEART OF THE CITY (4th race), BULLRUN (5th race), ORLA (6th race), LEGEND OF THE SEAS (7th race) and BEYOND HORIZONS (8th race) and the special sample of YODHA SHAKTI (2nd race), MAKE WAY FOR ME (4th race), SAKER (5th race) and BAY OF SECRETS (7th race),were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
