RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1000 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(325) – THE CLIFDEN PLATE (DIV.II):(About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 8

Soon after the start, BEAU ROYALE (B.Nikhil, dr.8) shifted in and went across SNOW ANGEL (Vikram Walkar) who was steadied and then shifted in further and jostled with STARSONBOARD (R.Shelar). BEAU ROYALE continued to shift in and carried STARSONBOARD inwards and then went across STARSONBOARD and further shifted in and cut across the field on its inside. Jockey B.Nikhil has been suspended w.e.f. 24^th July 2014 to 25^th July 2014 (both days inclusive) for Careless Riding. (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race).

Approaching 400 metres, TROPICAL ZONE (S.G.Prasad) became unbalanced and fell, dislodging the rider. On examination, the gelding was observed to have broken down from right shoulder. TROPICAL ZONE was euthanized on humane grounds after the Trainer’s consent.

UMARKOT (Kavraj Singh) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

The Sr.V.O. reported that STARSONBOARD was examined at the stables in the morning on 13/04/2014 and found to be sound.

RACE NO.2(326) – THE CLIFDEN PLATE (DIV.I):(About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 9

Soon after the start, WIKI WIKI (A.Sandesh, dr.9) shifted in and went across SPEED BABY (Hanumant Singh, dr.8) and then continued to shift in and then went across MR MORRISON (S.Mosin). Jockey A.Sandesh has been fined Rs.3000/-.

PERITOMORENO (Akshay) kept an erratic course under the use of the whip in the final 200 metres. Jockey Akshay has been reprimanded.

MR MORRISON (S.Mosin) lugged-in in the straight. Since the gelding was reported to have broken a blood vessel, no further action has been initiated in the matter.

After the race, MR MORRISON and STAYING ALIVE were observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being second time bleeders, both the horses are not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks and have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race TAHRIR, WIKI WIKI and MR MORRISON were found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(327)– THE AHU PLATE:(About) 2000 Metres – Runners – 8

Jockey Sandeep Jadhav (ANNABETH) reported the loss of whip between 500 metres and 400 metres.

Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi (TARA) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

After the race, TARA was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, CAESARS WIFE was found to be sound.

RACE NO.4(328) – THE COTSWOLD ARMS PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 7

At the start, WIND CRAFT (C.S.Jodha) jumped out awkwardly and was slow to begin.

HABIBIANS (B.Nikhil) lugged-in in the straight and carried ICE SKATES (S.Mosin) inwards approaching 200 metres. ICE SKATES (S.Mosin) lugged-in in the concluding stages of the race. Trainers Rehanullah Khan and H.J.Antia have been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race their respective charge.

After the race, SILSILA was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, HABIBIANS and SILSILA were found to be sound.

RACE NO.5(329) – THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 6

HIDDEN GOODNESS (T.S.Jodha) was reluctant to reach the starting point and thereafter in the process of stalling, the bridle and blinkers came off. The horse was fractious and not allowing the handlers to readjust the equipment. As such, HIDDEN GOODNESS was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. In view of this behavior, the Starting Stall Certificate of HIDDEN GOODNESS has been revoked.

After the race, FALCO NERO was found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(330) – THE S A WAHID PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 11

After being stalled, MORALS (P.Trevor) rushed the front gate and sat on his haunches. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race.

Passing 1000 metres, CUT DIAMOND (S.G.Prasad) shifted in and tightened STORMYDAY (Sandeep Jadhav) along the rails. Jockey S.G.Prasad has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

After the race, MORALS and ALWAYS SMILE were found to be sound.

RACE NO.7(331) – THE MR GREEDY TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 14

At the request of Trainer Faisal A.Abbas, ELAHEH was examined at 1900 hours on 11/04/2014 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg and having swelling due to injury on the left fore fetlock. As such, ELAHEH was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

At the start, DESERT RAGE (Vikram Jodha) ducked in and went on to BLUE FLAME (A.Ashhad Asbar) who in turn jostled with DRACO (N.S.Parmar). Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

Jockey P.Trevor (MINE FOREVER, dr.11) has been reprimanded for shifting in soon after the start.

Jockey N.S.Parmar (DRACO) reported that his mount lugged in during the race. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the gelding for mouth and limbs and he reported that DRACO was found to be sound, but having wolf tooth on either side. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

Jockey H.G.Rathod (SPEAR OF TRIUM) reported that his mount did not get a clear run in the straight.

Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (BLUE FLAME) reported that his mount ran green.

In the final stages of the race, LUCKY CHARM (J.H.Christopher) shifted out and carried SAVAGE BEAUTY (Kavraj Singh) outwards.

After the race, LUCKY CHARM, BLUE FLAME, MINE FOREVER, SHOWN and DESERT RAGE (examined on 13/04/2014) were found to be sound.

RACE NO.8(332) – THE MR GREEDY TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 14

After being stalled, HUGS AND KISSES (S.G.Prasad) started lashing out at the rear flaps. The filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to have sustained cut injury at the right stifle and bruises on the right hock. Also, the filly was sore by the right hind leg, as such, she was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. In view of this behavior, the Starting Stall Certificate of HUGS AND KISSES has been revoked. Also, the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

STORMING HOME (P.Trevor) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

At the start, CUMBRE VIEJA (I.Pasha, dr.3) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to STORMING HOME (P.Trevor, dr.4) who went across KING GLORIEUX (D.K.Ashish) who was slow to begin.

At the start, KING GLORIEUX (D.K.Ashish, dr.5) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to CHA CHA CHA (Shrikant Kamble, dr.6) and at the same time IN TIME (Satish Nayak, dr.7) jumped awkwardly inwards, due to which CHA CHA CHA was tightened.

Jockey C.S.Jodha (ABSOLUTE JEWEL, dr.13) has been reprimanded for shifting in soon after the start.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1^st, 6^th, 7^th and 8^th race, viz. UMARKOT, EARTH ORBIT, MINE FOREVER and BULLION EXPRESS, and the special sample of MR MORRISON (2^nd race), SILSILA (4^th race) and BEACH GAME (7^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
