RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED  4 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) UP TO THE WINNING POST.  FOR  THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT  FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, permission was granted to Trainer  Magansingh P.Jodha to saddle his charges FAIRY EMPRESS and ALBUURZ in the 4th & 7th race respectively, at his (Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Narendra Lagad, permission was granted to Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi, to saddle his charge THREE ROSES in the 5th race, at his (Trainer Narendra Lagad’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(225)  – THE  PONTA DELGADO PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 4

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (CYPRESS POINT) has been fined Rs.500/- for not wearing his racing goggles during the race.

 

Trainer Faisal A.Abbas was questioned regarding the performance of his charge NEW WORLD. He stated that he had instructed the Jockey to give the horse a chance and ride his race. He added that there was a drop in distance from 2400 metres from its earlier start in the Indian Derby to 1800 metres today. Also, his gelding was giving 6 kg to MONET, who was a winner this season and who had run a close 3rd to SOPHISTICATED in his last start, who had subsequently won again last week. He further added that his horse had a hard run in the Derby and may not have recuperated well coming into this race. To another question, he stated that the gelding had worked well. The explanation has been noted.

 

After the race, NEW WORLD was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(226)  – THE  SECRET ROMEO PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 9

 

Soon after the start, ALECTO (T.S.Jodha) shifted in and tightened PRETTY IN PATPONG (S.P.Ranjane) and travelling a few strides further, again shifted in and tightened PRETTY IN PATPONG. Jockey T.S.Jodha has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

The saddle on XALIESS (Kavraj Singh) was observed to have slipped back during the race, as such, Trainer Jayantilal K.Gor has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.

 

After the race, ALECTO was found to be sound, but having a cut injury above the right hind fetlock. PLATED and JOCELYN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(227) – THE ICEBREAKER TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 6

 

Near 1400 metres, CACTUS CASH (C.S.Jodha) shifted ground inwards, due to which DOMINGO (J.Fortune) who was being settled, shied and shifted in and caused FORTUNE FAVOURS (Dashrath Singh) to shift in. Due to the above, YOU’RE THE BOSS (J.Chinoy) was tightened and steadied and in the process shifted out on to FORTUNE FAVOURS who was awkwardly placed behind the heels of DOMINGO and clipped and stumbled.

 

In the final stages of the race, CACTUS CASH (C.S.Jodha) and FORTUNE FAVOURS (Dashrath Singh) brushed each other as both the horses shifted ground outwards and inwards respectively.

 

After the race, DOMINGO was observed to have an abrasion at the right hock.  MIY FREEDOM, YOU’RE THE BOSS and DOMINGO (examined on 28/02/2013)  were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(228) –THE  CENTENARY PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 10

 

At the start, DELGADO (S.Zervan, dr.4) jumped awkwardly inwards went on to KALINGA STAR (Dashrath Singh, dr.3).

 

In the final 200 metres, DELGADO lugged inwards. Since the gelding had returned sore after the race, no action as been initiated in the matter.

 

Jockey Kavraj Singh (WIND IN HER HAIR) has been cautioned for unnecessary use of the whip in the straight.

 

After the race, DELGADO was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, KALINGA STAR was found to be sound, but having a cut injury on the tongue. MONEY FOR NOTHIN had a cut injury at the right hind coronet. WIND IN HER HAIR and ARZAAN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(229) – THE  SECRET ROMEO PLATE (DIV.I):(About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 9

 

On arrival at the start, SARISKA (Ishwar Pardeshi) reared up and fell backwards, dislodging the Jockey who was injured and unable to ride. As such, SARISKA was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order.

 

BALINGA (Nirmal Jodha) hung out while negotiating the bend and in the straight. Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that after completion of the race, BURGUNDY ROSE stopped near 2200 metres. On examination, the filly was found to be sore from the left fore leg. First aid treatment was given and the filly was sent to the Equine Hospital by Horse Ambulance for further management. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, JAIPUR GEM was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind pastern. MR MORRISON, THREE ROSES and BALINGA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(230) – THE  F.K.VAKIL TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 12

 

At the start, ORIENTAL MASTI (Amyn Merchant, dr.1) jumped awkwardly outwards and at the same time LADY WILLINGDON (Altaf Sayyed, dr.2) jumped awkwardly inwards, which resulted in both the horses jostling with each other.

 

Near 1300 metres, ORIENTAL MASTI (Amyn Merchant) stumbled on its own.

 

Jockey J.Pradeep (STAR BUILDER) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker and in the process going across the field.

 

Near 400 metres, ORIENTAL MASTI (Amyn Merchant) shifted in and in the process caused interference to BRAVE FIGHTER (A.Sandesh). Jockey Amyn Merchant has been fined Rs.2,000/-. 

 

After the race, PERSIAN was found to be sore by the left fore leg. Also, the gelding had an abrasion at the left hock. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, LADY WILLINGDON was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind cannon. AMITAYUS and KISMAT were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(231) – THE  LEI PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 14

 

At the start, EL CLASICO (S.Zervan, dr.3) jumped awkwardly inwards and jostled with HILL RANGER (App.Sandeep Jadhav, dr.2). ALBUURZ (Kavraj Singh) shifted outwards suddenly and went on to SAN RAFAEL (P.Trevor), who went on to FREE VERSE (A.Sandesh),  who in turn went on to FORTUNER (Shrikant Kamble).

 

Jockey P.Trevor (SAN RAFAEL) has been fined Rs.5,000/- for using an unapproved Safety Vest.

 

After the race, FORTUNER was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the gelding is not to race for the stipulated period of eight weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ILLUSTRIOUS and SAN RAFAEL were observed to have a gum injury. ALBUURZ and HILL RANGER were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 3rd, 5th and 6th race viz. FORTUNE FAVOURS, STRATEGY and ONE WISH,  and the special sample of NEW WORLD (1st race), ALECTO (2nd race), STORMYDAY (5th race), AMITAYUS (6th race) and FORTUNER (7th race),  were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
