RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION AT 1600 METRES, 2 METRES WIDE AT 1400 METRES, 3 METRES AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 4 METRES  WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST.  RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 4.5 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

RACE NO.1(104) –THE RADICAL FORCE PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners -  11   

 

EVANGELINE (Kishore Kadam) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.

 

Approaching the 800 metres, RISING SUN (N. S. Parmar) threw its head and shied outwards thereby bumping and tightening HIOCTANE (P. S. Chouhan), who in turn shifted out and brushed the haunches of EVANGELINE (Kishore Kadam) causing the latter to be checked and drop back. Jockey N. S. Parmar has been cautioned.  

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of EVANGELINE and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, WHITE RIVER and EVANGELINE were trotted and found to be sound. RISING SUN had lost its left hind shoe.

 

RACE NO.2(105) –THE ADOLFITO PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  13     

 

At the request of Trainer Vinesh, ALPINE EXPRESS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at  the Saddling Enclosure and was found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

GOSHAWK (T. S. Jodha) and JETFIRE (N. S. Parmar) jumped out slow losing about 4 lengths each at the start. Trainers M. K. Jadhav and A. M. Jadhav have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, BELENUS (App. P. Vinod, dr. 6) took an awkward jump brushing against its stall and thereafter shifted in and bumped NORTHERN SINGER (App. P. S. Kaviraj, dr. 4) who had to be steadied. App. P. Vinod has been cautioned.

 

At the start, DANCING LANCES (App. Aniket Karande, dr. 14) veered outwards and thereafter, passing the 1000 metres refused to gallop. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, RISING BRAVE (App. A. Prakash) was inclined outwards due to which COLLEGIUM (App. Gagandeep Mann), racing on its outside shied outwards and was steadied.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, BELENUS (App. P. Vinod) shifted out and carried PULVERIZE (Bhawani Singh) outwards. App. P. Vinod has been fined Rs. 2,000/-.

 

Passing the 1000 metres, FINE TUNE (S. J. Sunil) shifted in onto NORTHERN SINGER (App. P. S. Kaviraj) who had to be checked. Jockey S. J. Sunil has been cautioned.

 

In the final stages of the race, DUMAS (S. Zervan) shifted out under pressure onto JETFIRE (N. S. Parmar) carrying it outwards. Jockey S. Zervan has been cautioned.

 

After the race, NORTHERN SINGER was observed to have a gum injury.

 

 

 RACE NO.3(106) –THE SHANTIDAS ASKURAN TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 8    

 

At the start, SHARAREH (N. S. Parmar, dr. 3) jumped outwards on to HIDDEN GOLD (P. Trevor, dr. 4).

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey A. Sandesh, the rider of REVELATOR (Placed Third) against GOLDEN GUEST (Neeraj Rawal, Placed Second). The reason being, at the 150 metres, Jockey Neeraj Rawal who was using the whip from the left hand, saw him on the outside and switched his whip to the right hand, moved out and took his ground whereby he had to stop riding for 2 to 3 strides, which cost him a certain second place, the verdict being a head.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards upheld the objection and revised the order of placing as under:-

 

HIDDEN GOLD                                   -               FIRST;                   GOLDEN GUEST                               -               THIRD;

REVELATOR                                       -               SECOND;             SHARAREH                         -               FOURTH

 

In the above connection, the Stewards directed the Stipendiary Stewards to initiate action against Jockey Neeraj Rawal for careless riding on his mount GOLDEN GUEST. Accordingly, the Stipendiary Stewards decided to suspend Jockey Neeraj Rawal from riding in races for one Race Day i.e. on 21st February, 2021 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race). In that, passing the 300 metres, GOLDEN GUEST was inclined outwards despite which in the final stages of the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal switched his whip hand to the right due to which GOLDEN GUEST shifted out taking the ground of REVELATOR (A. Sandesh).

 

Jockey Akshay Kumar has been fined a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for failing to fulfill his riding engagements on GOLDEN GUEST (2nd race) and BEEMER (9th race).

 

The Equine Hospital reported that JUNO’S GUEST had left eye injury (mild ulcer).

 

The Equine Hospital reported that EXCELLENT GOLD had injury to both eyes (moderate ulcer on right eye and severe ulcer on left eye).

 

After the race, HIDDEN GOLD and SHARAREH were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(107) –THE CABRIOLET PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  7     

 

At the start, MULTIENCRYPTED (N. S. Parmar, dr. 3) jumped outwards and went across GINSBURG (Neeraj Rawal, dr. 4) who was marginally slow to begin. At the same time RED MERLOT (Dashrath Singh, dr. 5) jumped inwards and they made contact.

 

Approaching 900 metres, PRINCESS SHANIA (S. Zervan) leaned inwards onto ALEXANDER (T. S. Jodha) who was steadied.

 

After the race, GINSBURG was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind pastern and PRINCESS SHANIA had a cut injury at the right fore cannon. ALEXANDER was found to be sound in the trot.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that HILMA KLINT had right eye injury (mild ulcer).

 

RACE NO.5(108) –THE ICEBREAKER PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  7

 

GUARNERIUS (N. S. Parmar) was reluctant to reach the starting point thereby delayed the start. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to school his charge to proceed to the starting gate before next accepting to race. 

 

After the race, PRINCESS ANNABEL was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(109) –THE RADICAL FORCE PLATE (DIV.I) : (About) 1600 Metres – Runners -  11     

 

TASMAN (K. Nazil) stood awkwardly in the gate as the start was effected thus losing about 3 lengths and FANFARE (R. Ajinkya) jumped out slow also losing about 3 lengths at the start. Trainers Sanjay Kolse and S. Waheed have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. 

 

FENCING (Shailesh Shinde) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

RACE NO.7(110) –THE REPUBLIC CUP : (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 5    

 

Jockey Y. S. Srinath has been fined a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for failing to fulfill his riding engagement on IRON AGE in this race.

 

After the race, IRON AGE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(111) –THE  VICTORY MARCH PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  14     

 

TRIDENT (Shailesh Shinde) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, FENDI (Amyn Merchant, dr. 10) jumped out awkwardly throwing its head.

 

Passing 750 metres, BRAVE (App. Aniket Karande) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing NUSRAT (App. A. S. Peter) along the rails. App. Aniket Karande has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 800 metres, STARS FOR YOU (Bhawani Singh) and ARABIAN PERFECTION (App. M. S. Deora) leaned outwards and inwards respectively, made contact and were steadied.

 

Approaching 300 metres, TWINKLING STAR (App. P. S. Kaviraj) shifted out inconveniencing FENDI (Amyn Merchant). App. P. S. Kaviraj has been cautioned.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that STARS FOR YOU was declared to run with bandages on both fore legs but ran without bandages. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.

 

RACE NO.9(112) –THE ADOLFITO PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  14     

 

ALAUDDIN KHILJI (Bhawani Singh) planted and lost considerable ground at the start. As such, Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

DILBAR (S. A. Amit) was reluctant to be stalled and was loaded after substantial effort. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SIR RAMON (H. Zeeshan, dr. 3) jumped out awkwardly throwing its head. Soon thereafter, BEEMER (A. Sandesh, dr. 2) shifted out and went across SIR RAMON causing it to be steadied. Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

Soon after the start, SHAE (K. Nazil) leaned inwards starting a chain reaction inconveniencing PRIDE’S ANGEL (Neeraj Rawal), MONK (App. M. S. Deora) and TIMELESS DEEDS (App. P. S. Kaviraj). Jockey K. Nazil has been cautioned.  

 

After the race, MONK was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, TANHAIYAAN was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind bulb of heel and PRIDE’S ANGEL had lost its right hind shoe.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd & 8th race, viz. CELLINI and AME, and the special sample of EVANGELINE (1st race), IRON AGE (7th race) and MONK (9th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
