RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION UP TO 200 METRES AND THEREAFTER 2 METRES WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST.
RACE NO.1(60) –THE VENUS DE MILO PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10
DAWNSTAR (Hanumant Singh) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.
LUSCUS CENTAURUS (Akshay Kumar) jumped out slow losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give the filly more gate practice before next accepting to race.
After the race, SUSSING and HIOCTANE were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(61) –THE SIR RAHIMTOOLA CHINOY TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 4
On arrival at the start, GALLANTRY (Yash Narredu) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and found to be sore from the left fore leg, as such, horse was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s Order. GALLANTRY has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, VICTORIOUS SERMON and MOUNT MORIAH were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(62) –THE LADY IN LACE PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 11
At the start, SHAPATH (T. S. Jodha, dr. 6) jumped inwards on to BEEJAY (C. S. Jodha, dr. 5), who in turn shifted in and made contact with PATRIOTS DAY (J. Chinoy, dr. 4).
Approaching 1000 metres, due to a tightly packed field, SHAPATH (T. S. Jodha) had to be checked and dropped back.
After the race, LIGHTNING GOLD was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, ADONIJAH was observed to have a gum injury.
RACE NO.4(63) –THE SIR JAMSETJEE JEEJEEBHOY (VI BART) TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 6
At the request of Trainer M. Narredu, ALEXANDER was examined at 0940 hours on 03/01/2021 and found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such the colt was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. ALEXANDER has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
JUICED (Bhawani Singh, dr. 4) veered in as the start was given and thereafter maintained an erratic course. Trainer A. M. Jadhav has been asked to show the colt to the satisfaction of the starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.
Passing 400 metres, FORTUNE COOKIE (Neeraj Rawal) who was racing between RED MERLOT (J. Chinoy) and NOTHING TO WORRY (S. Zervan) was tightened for room and dropped back.
Passing the 200 metres, NOTHING TO WORRY (S. Zervan) shifted in tightening MULTIENCRYPTED (N. S. Parmar) along the rails. After the race, Jockey S. Zervan reported that his mount hung-in in the final stages despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Vishal Gaikwad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
RACE NO.5(64) –THE UTTAM SINGH TROPHY: (About) 2400 Metres – Runners - 8
Approaching 2000 metres, TOUCH OF FAITH (A. Sandesh) veered out and went across WALK THE TALK (App. P. S. Kaviraj) and thereafter whipped around at the 2000 metres. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.
Passing the 200 metres, WALK THE TALK (App. P. S. Kaviraj) leaned inwards onto BRAZOS (N. S. Parmar) who had to be steadied. After the race, Jockey Y. S. Srinath (ROARING TIGER) reported that his mount hung-out in the straight despite his efforts. As such, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.
After the race, TOUCH OF FAITH was trotted and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported that WALK THE TALK had left eye injury (moderate ulcer).
RACE NO.6(65) –THE COL.KAIKHUSHROO MANECKJI BHARUCHA MEMORIAL TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 7
On its way to the starting point, WILD FIRE (App. P. S. Kaviraj) was observed to have lost its left fore shoe. The mare was therefore withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order.
At the start, IMPALA (J. Chinoy, dr. 4) jumped outwards and made contact with STORM BREAKER (Vishal N. Bunde, dr. 5). Thereafter, IMPALA shifted in and went across MEMORABLE MEMORIES (C. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied and at the same time, SLAM DUNK (D. R. Shubham, dr. 1) shifted out and made contact with IMPALA. Jockey J. Chinoy has been cautioned.
Approaching the 800 metres, USTAD PEDRO (App. Aniket Karande) and NAMAQUA (App. A. S. Peter) were observed to have jostled.
After the race, USTAD PEDRO was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.7(66)
–THE GOOL & SOLI POONAWALLA INDIAN 1000 GUINEAS (GR.1): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 8
Approaching 300 metres, ALLURING SILVER (Suraj Narredu) was denied a clear run and was forced to be checked and change course.
The Sr. V.O. reported that passing the 200 metres, NOBLE QUEEN (Yash Narredu) fell down and fractured her both fore cannon bones. The filly was euthanized on humane grounds. The Stipendiary Stewards will be enquiring into the matter and a report will be submitted shortly.
The Sr. V.O. reported that SMASHING BLUE was declared to run without bandages but ran with bandages on both fore legs. Trainer R. H. Sequeira has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.
SMASHING BLUE was declared to run with all four aluminum shoes but ran with aluminium, both fore bonded shoes. Trainer R. H. Sequeira has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.
RACE NO.8(67) –THE VENUS DE MILO PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10
WILD FLOWER (App. P. S. Kaviraj) planted in its stall and took no part in the race. In view of the above and the mare’s similar behavior in the past, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race before next accepting to race.
TASMAN (D. R. Shubham) and MIGHTY WARRIOR (Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow losing about 3 lengths each at the start. Trainers Sanjay Kolse and Karthik Ganapathy have been asked to give more gate practice to their respective charge before next accepting to race.
At the start, WAVERUNNER (T. S. Jodha, dr. 2) jumped outwards and made contact with BIRKIN BLOWER (S. Zervan, dr. 3) who in turn shifted out and brushed the haunches of ISTANBUL (Amyn Merchant, dr. 4).
After the race, WAVERUNNER was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, CLARK KENT was trotted and found to be sound. The gelding had an injury at both hock.
RACE NO.9(68) –THE LADY IN LACE PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 9
SHADOWS (D. R. Shubham) played up on the way to the start dislodging the rider who was indisposed, as such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to school his charge to proceed to the start, before next accepting to race.
SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (Amyn Merchant) jumped out slow losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.
At the start, CAESAR (K. Nazil, dr. 6) jumped inwards and went across SUMMER NIGHT (A. Sandesh, dr. 4) who was marginally slow to begin and went onto GANDALF (App. A. S. Peter, dr. 3) causing it to stumble.
Passing the red marker, TRINKET (Bhawani Singh) shifted in and went across CAESAR (K. Nazil) causing it to be checked and change course due to which, GANDALF (App. A. S. Peter) who was racing on the haunches on CEASAR, was forced to be checked and drop back. After questioning, Jockey Bhawani Singh has been fined Rs. 3,000/-.
Passing 900 metres, IRISH EYES (App. P. S. Kaviraj) shifted in onto CRISTO BOSS (S. G. Prasad) who in turn shifted in inconveniencing GANDALF (App. A. S. Peter) along the rails. App. P. s. Kaviraj has been cautioned.
Passing 300 metres, the saddle used on CAESAR (K. Nazil) was observed to have slipped forward due to which the rider had to dismount. Trainer Nosher Cama has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd & 4th race, viz. VICTORIOUS SERMON & NOTHING TO WORRY, and the urine and blood sample of FOREST FLAME, MISS MUFFET & ALLURING SILVER (Winner, Second Placed & Third Place – 7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RACE NO. 55 –THE BANGALORE TURF CLUB TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – RUN ON 27th DECEMBER, 2020:
It was erroneously reported that ISLE OF SKYE ran without bandages on both fore legs while it was declared to run with the bandages. In view of the above, the fine of Rs. 1,000/- imposed on Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been rescinded.

Jockey K. Nazil (TAKE IT EASY) has been fined Rs. 3,000/- for having used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
