About Tribe@Turf, a RWITC Community Initiative

The Tribe@Turf Community is committed to helping preserve and promote the sustainability of Mumbai city in terms of the environment, art & culture, and history.  We are supported by the Royal Western Turf Club (RWITC) and are using the physical space of the Mahalakshmi Racecourse as a meeting point for the Community.  The space at the Race Course in Mahalaxmi is a public space, and is South Mumbai's largest and most beautiful green lung.  Thousands of people come here every day to walk, run, stroll, and just enjoy the serene sight of endless greenery. As a Community, we have been supporting activities such as fund-raisers for the Indian Cancer Society, cultural performances like Marathi Bana, music concerts by Pandit Vishwamohan Bhatt, Toumani Diabate, and Sonu Nigam, the Farmers Market and much more to better utilize this amazing open space in a way that is more participative and enjoyable to the citizens of Mumbai.
