Colombiana for Armed Forces Trophy (Gr.3)

Mumbai: The M. Narredu-trained 4 year old colt Colombiana (Noverre-Wonder Smile) who finished an excellent close 2nd to the classy colt Costa Del Sol on 23/8/2015 in the 1400M F. D. Wadia Trophy (Gr.3) then he went on to win the 1400M Maharaja of Morvi Trophy on Sunday 22nd November, 2015 as he was running against 4 extremely mediocre rivals.
Thereafter, Columbiana carrying 57Kg went on to stylishly win the 2000M Ramniwas Ramnarain Ruia Gold Cup (Grade 2) decisively, beating the hot favorite 4 year old colt Phoenix Tiger at level weights in an excellent time of 2-02.97Secs. Then in his last run of the previous Mumbai Season on 13th March 2016, Columbiana carrying 56 1/2Kg ran a good 2nd to the 5 years old gelding Azzuro 53Kg in the 2400M C.N. Wadia Gold Cup (Grade 2). Then came his next win, being his third Victory and it was on 3rd April 2016 in Mumbai the 1800M Godrej Prop.Turf Championship where he beat Costa Del Sol, receiving 3Kg from the latter.
Columbiana worked very well especially on four workouts on 24/2/2016, 2/3/2016, 9/3/2016 and especially on his last excellent work- outs showed that he is presently very fit, He ran an extremely superb race in his last run at Pune on 7th August 2016 the 1400m Pune Bookmakers Association Turf Club Trophy (G.3) unluckily losing the race by a whisker.
Colombiana is very well bred as way down in his Dam’s side, there was the very classy filly, Mumtaz Mahal who from 10 starts had seven extremely superb wins. So, all in all, the Malesh Narredu –trained Colombiana will win The 1600M Armed Forces Tophy (Grade 3) as he is presently very fit and has the best credentials.
