Hearty affair
Mumbai Mirror

Sunday’s big-ticket racing event had a touch of heart. The RWITC partnered with Passages, an NGO to raise some monies for breast cancer. The result was a collection of 21 stunning horse heads hand painted by Paresh Maity, SubhashAchwat, Jatin Das, Jaideep Mehrotra, Arzan Khambatta, Sujata Bajaj and Revati Sharma Singh among others. Racegoers were generous enough to loosen up the purse strings, we hear, and the sculptures were all sold out. Vivek Jain shared with the diarist that while Vijay Mallya’s entry in a 1908 Vintage on Derby Day was an effort to bring a touch of heritage to the proceedings, this one is purely a CSR exercise. We approve.
