RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 6 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 10 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 12 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

On a request from Trainer M. Narredu, permission was granted to his Assistant Trainer Mr. Vinesh Naik to saddle his charge DAUGHTEROFTHESUN in the 2^nd race, at his (Trainer M. Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, permission was granted to Trainer Dallas Todywalla to saddle his charge JAGER BOMB in the 2^nd race, at his (Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer C. D. Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer S. Waheed to saddle his charge IN THE STARS in the 4^th race, at his (Trainer C. D. Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, permission was granted to Trainer Magansingh P. Jodha to saddle his charge RED FORT in the 5^th race & GOLDEN HALO in the 7^th race respectively, at his (Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(93) –THE HOMI MODY TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 4

At the request of Jockey S. Zervan the saddle on his mount PHENOMENAL MEMORY was readjusted.

After the race, MEKONG DELTA was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.2(94) – THE SET ALIGHT PLATE: (About) 2400 Metres – Runners - 6

App. S. A. Amit (KOMANDANT) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

After the race, SWIFTNESS was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(95) –THE P.D.BOLTON TROPHY:(About) 1200 Metres – Runners- 6

After the race, SUMMER RAYS was trotted and found to be sound. The filly had a cut injury at the left hind bulb of heel.

RACE NO.4(96) – THE PRADEEP VIJAYAKAR TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 9

The Sr. V.O. reported that QUEEN RIA (App. H. Zeeshan) played up on the way to the Saddling Enclosure. On examination, the filly was found to be sore by the right fore leg. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

At the start, FABIO (App. S. J. Sunil, dr. 7) jumped inwards on to AEOLUS MAXIMUS (Dashrath Singh, dr. 5).

At the start, IN THE STARS (P. Trevor, dr. 9) jumped outwards on to CUPIDO (Amyn Merchant, dr. 10).

Passing the 200 metres, SCION (B. Nikhil) shifted out and carried GOLDEN ECLIPSE (App. S. A. Amit) outwards. It was observed that Jockey B. Nikhil had used the whip from the left as a corrective measure. As such no action has been initiated.

RACE NO.5(97) – THE CLINTON PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres –Runners- 11

At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, DAZZLING EYES was examined at 2355 hours on 30/12/2017 and was treated for colic. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with her to race.

Passing the 600 metres, App. S. A. Amit (SILVER EDGE) shifted out on to SHE’S ALL MINE (App. Parbat Singh) thereby starting a chain reaction due to which DIABLO (Dashrath Singh) clipped the heels of CARE FREE (App. Raghuveer Singh) and stumbled. After questioning App. S. A. Amit and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (STAR ACE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. After the race, on questioning, Jockey Neeraj Rawal stated that his mount was hanging in and the whip was used as corrective measure. As such no action has been initiated against him. However, Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

Jockey S. Sunil (SILVER MOON) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. After the race, on questioning, Jockey S. Sunil stated that his mount hung in and the whip was used as a corrective measure. As such no action has been initiated against Jockey S. Sunil. However Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

After the race, FORTITUDE, DIABLO, SHE’S ALL MINE and RESURGE were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(98) – THE PRADEEP VIJAYAKAR TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 9

The Sr. V.O. reported that SAFFRON FLOWER (App. S. A. Amit) had a fall on the way to the Saddling Enclosure near the 2000 metres and was found to be bleeding from the left ear. After initial First Aid treatment, the filly was sent to the Equine Hospital for further examination and treatment. SAFFRON FLOWER was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with her to race.

On arrival at the start, FRIBOURG (App. M. Ayyar), AKKI’S PET (App. Raghuveer Singh) and FLOWER DUST (App. H. Zeeshan) were examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified them fit to race.

MIGHTY WARRIOR (Bhawani Singh) took a fly jump thus losing about a length at the start.

At the start, App. S. J. Sunil (JULIANO, dr. 6) was observed to have lost his stirrup and the same was regained passing the 800 metres.

After the race, FRIBOURG and AKKI’S PET were found to be sore by the right fore leg and left fore leg respectively. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, JULIANO was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.7(99) – THE MASEEHA PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 12

TOMAHAWK (T. S. Jodha) and REPLICA (Nirmal Jodha) jumped out slow losing about 3 lengths and 2 lengths respectively.

Trainer Magansingh P. Jodha has been fined Rs.1,000/- for not producing the registered Racing Colours in respect of his charge WILDCARD WARRIOR (App. D. R. Shubham). The colt raced in emergency racing colours i.e. “ALL BLACK”.

At the start, WILDCARD WARRIOR (App. D. R. Shubham, dr. 6) jumped outwards and made contact with HUNAYN (C. S. Jodha, dr. 8) who in turn shifted out and carried GOLDSMITH (S. Zervan, dr. 9) outwards on to GALTERO (App. S. A. Amit, dr. 10).

At the start, VOULEZ VOUS (App. M. Ayyar, dr. 5) jumped inwards and went across TOMAHAWK (T. S. Jodha, dr. 4) who was slow to begin.

Approaching 1200 metres, HUNAYN (C. S. Jodha) shifted in on to VOULEZ VOUS (App. M. Ayyar) forcing the latter to be checked. Thereafter, approaching 600 metres, HUNAYN (C. S. Jodha) shifted in onto GOLDEN HALO (App. D. S. Daman) who in turn dropped back onto VOULEZ VOUS (App. M. Ayyar) causing the latter to be checked. Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.

ISINIT (Satish Nayak) was observed to have maintained an erratic course in the straight. As such, Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

After the race, HUNAYN and GOLDSMITH were observed to have broken a blood vessel and are not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, LOVELY KUDI, ISINIT and REPLICA were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 3^rd, 5^th and 7^th race, viz. EXCELLENT GOLD, SILVER EDGE and TOMAHAWK, and the special sample of MEKONG DELTA (1^st race) and HUNAYN (7^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
