RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

RACE NO.1(15) - THE SIACHEN PLATE  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – 10 Runners

 

At the start, RIDGEWOOD STAR (P. Trevor, dr. 1) jumped outwards at the same time BOHEMIAN (App. N. Nadeem, dr.2) jumped inwards and made contact.

 

At the start, POCO AZUL (App. H. Zeeshan, dr.6) jumped outwards at the same time SIR PERCY BLAKENEY (B. Nikhil, dr.8) jumped inwards thereby inconveniencing FLY AWAY WITH ME (Shrikant Kamble, dr.7). Thereafter RARE SILVER (App. Raghuveer Singh, dr.10) shifted in thereby starting a chain reaction due to which FIREBALL (T. S. Jodha, dr.9), SIR PERCY BLAKENEY (B. Nikhil, dr.8) and FLY AWAY WITH ME (Shrikant Kamble, dr.7) were inconvenienced. App. Raghuveer Singh has been cautioned.

 

App. Raghuveer Singh (RARE SILVER) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey Amyn Merchant (ROYAL ACE) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures.

 

After the race, Jockey T. S. Jodha (FIREBALL) reported that his mount hung out in the straight.

 

After the race, the Sr. V. O. reported on examination FLY AWAY WITH ME and FIREBALL returned sore by the left fore leg. Trainers Vijay Kasbekar and B. Prakash have been asked to have their horses passed fit by the Club’s Sr. V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SIR PERCY BLAKENEY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The horse has to be passed fit by the Club’s Sr. V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, WABI SABI was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(16) - THE QUASAR TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – 4 Runners

 

At the start, SUPER SUNSHINE (Shrikant Kamble) planted in the stalls and lost considerable ground. In view of the gelding having behaved in a similar manner in its previous start, Trainer Deepesh Narredu has been asked to show his charge in two Mock Races to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, FRIVOLOUS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(17) - THE M H AHMEDBHOY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – 7 Runners

 

At the start, ASTRAL FLARE (Leigh Roche, dr.6) jumped inwards and went across ROSPOMARE (Amyn Merchant, dr.5) who was slow to begin.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, ARTUS (P. S.  Chouhan) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing TAR HEEL (Robbie Downey).

 

RACE NO.4(18) - THE GRAND PASSION PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – 12 Runners

 

At the start, MEDICI (P. Trevor, dr.2) jumped and veered outwards and went across HIS MASTER’S VICE (S. A. Amit, dr.3), SHIVALIK SKIES (Amyn Merchant, dr.4) and inconvenienced VITESSE (App. N. Nadeem, dr.5). After the race, Jockey P. Trevor reported that his mount was inclined outwards during the initial stages of the race. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures.

 

After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported that PATRIOTS DAY had an abrasion on the left shoulder.

 

RACE NO.5(19) - THE MAYOR'S TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – 10 Runners

 

Passing the 900 metres, OUTRAGEOUS (Leigh Roche) shifted in and went across NUSRAT (Amyn Merchant) causing the later to clip and stumble. After questioning Jockey Leigh Roche has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

The Sr. V. O. reported that at the request of Trainer Vinesh his charge JUNO’S GUEST was scoped after the race and found to be Grade 3 EIPH and hence, is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s Sr. V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.6(20) - THE SHANTIDAS ASKURAN TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – 9 Runners

 

At the request of Jockey A. Sandesh his mount WISE CHILD was examined by the Clubs Sr. V.O., before the race, who certified him fit to race.

 

Passing the 300 metres, WISE CHILD (A. Sandesh) was observed to have taken a tight passage between PRICELESSGIRL (App. H. Zeeshan) and SUMMER RAYS (P. Trevor) due to which SUMMER RAYS (P. Trevor) was inconvenienced and had to be steadied. After questioning Jockey A. Sandesh has been severely reprimanded.

 

After the race, App. Aniket Karande (WILD FIRE) reported that his mount took a fly jump as soon as the start was effected.

 

The Sr. V. O. reported on examination after the race WISE CHILD returned sore by the right fore leg. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to have the horse passed fit by the Club’s Sr. V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, PRICELESSGIRL was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(21) - THE SNOW DEW PLATE: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – 10 Runners

 

After being stalled ADMO (B. Nikhil) tried to duck the front gates as such the colt was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified him fit to race.

 

At the start, MADAGASCAR (S. Zervan) jumped out slow losing about a length.

 

Passing the 200 metres, TIMELESS DEEDS (Dashrath Singh) shifted in and went across AURODEN (App. H. Zeeshan) who had to be steadied. After questioning Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.

 

After the race, App. H. Zeeshan (AURODEN) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of MADAGASCAR (S. Zervan) in this race and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, QUESTIONABLE and MADAGASCAR were trotted and found to be sound, ADMO lost its left fore shoe and had a cut injury in the left stifle.

 

RACE NO.8(22) - THE SIACHEN PLATE  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – 11 Runners

 

At the request of Jockey T. S. Jodha the saddle on his mount SAFDAR was adjusted at the starting gate.

 

At the start, SAFDAR (T. S. Jodha, dr.1) jumped awkwardly outwards and at the same time ARABIAN STORM (App. P. S. Kaviraj, dr.3) jumped inwards thereby inconveniencing ADAMS BEGINNING (App. S. A. Amit, dr.2).

 

At the start, HUDSON (P. S. Chouhan, dr.6) jumped outwards at the same time XOXO (App. M. Ayyar, dr.9) jumped inwards due to which VENGENCE IS MINE (App. P. Vinod, dr.7) and GENTILLESSE (Dashrath Singh, dr.8) were tightened and dropped back

 

In the closing stages of the race, VENGENCE IS MINE (App. P. Vinod) shifted in thereby forcing ADAMS BEGINNING (App. S. A. Amit) inwards on to GENTILLESSE (Dashrath Singh) who had to be checked. App. P. Vinod has been cautioned.

 

The Sr. V. O. reported on examination after the race VENGENCE IS MINE returned sore by the left fore leg. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to have the horse passed fit by the Club’s Sr. V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ARABIAN STORM was trotted and found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of the 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th race, viz. PATRIOTS DAY, JUNO’S GUEST, WISE CHILD and LESREL, and the special sample of MADAGASCAR (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
