 RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 1200 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND  THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(86) –THE LADY MOURA PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 5 

 

On arrival at the start, MOONSHINE (A. Imran Khan) was examined by the Cub’s Sr. V.O. and was certified fit to race.

 

At the start, FIRENZE (Dashrath Singh, dr. 3) jumped outwards on to GLORIOSUS (P. Trevor, dr. 4).

 

At the start, LORD OF THE SEA (Neeraj Rawal dr. 5) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 200 metres, FLYING DRAGON (App. Raghuveer Singh) drifted out and carried MOONSHINE (A. Imran Khan) outwards. After the race, App. Raghuveer Singh reported that his mount hung out and due to the close proximity of the horse on his outside, he was unable to use the whip freely. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its previous outing, Trainer S. S. Shah has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (LORD OF THE SEA) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. As such, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, MOONSHINE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(87) – THE WHITE METAL PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 5

 

There was a dual declaration in respect of Jockey P. Trevor by Trainer Dallas Todywalla on DANCING HOOVES and by Trainer Vishal Gaikwad on HOPE AND GLORY. After questioning all concerned, Trainer Vishal Gaikwad was permitted to declare Jockey P. Trevor on HOPE AND GOLRY and Trainer Dallas Todywalla declared Jockey S. Zervan on DANCING HOOVES. In this connection, Jockey P. Trevor has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting two rides in the same race.

 

OCTAVIUS (A. Imran Khan) and HOPE AND GLORY (P. Trevor) were observed to have hung out in the straight.

 

RACE NO.3(88) –THE VALLABHDAS H.ADWALIA TROPHY:(About) 1600 Metres – Runners- 10 

 

Trainer Arif Patel has been fined Rs.1,000/- for racing his charge BAKHTAWAR with bandages on both fore legs without obtaining prior permission for the same.

 

Passing the 200 metres, KING OF KILLEN (P. Trevor) leaned outwards. Thereafter, passing the 150 metres REDS REVENGE (Dashrath Singh) shifted in due to which SUMAAQ (C. S. Jodha) had to check and change course. After questioning both the Jockey’s concerned, Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 100 metres, RARE SILVER (A. Imran Khan) racing between JEENA (Amyn Merchant) and KING OF KILLEN (P. Trevor) was tightened for room and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, KING OF KILLEN was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BAKHTAWAR and STAR WITNESS were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(89) – THE  EDGAR DESYLVA TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres –Runners- 5 

 

After the race, BATELEUR was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, CARBONARA and CHARGING TIGRESS were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(90) – THE SPINOZA PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 8 

 

On arrival at the start, SPONTANEOUS EDDIE (App. Raghuveer Singh) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was certified fit to race.

 

Soon after the start, LILAC TIME (Dashrath Singh) shifted out on to SUDARSHAN CHAKRA (T. S. Jodha) at the same time OUTSTANDING (App. R. Ajinkya) shifted in on to ARC OF PASSION (Amyn Merchant) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening SUDARSHAN CHAKRA (T. S. Jodha) who had to be checked. After questioning all concerned, Jockeys Dashrath Singh and R. Ajinkya have been cautioned.

 

Soon after the start, SIMONA (S. Zervan) shifted in and went across AME (P. Trevor) who had to be checked. Jockey S. Zervan has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Passing the 250 metres, SILVER RIVER (App. S. A. Amit) shifted out on to LILAC TIME (Dashrath Singh).

 

Passing the 100 metres, LILAC TIME (Dashrath Singh) shifted out and had to be steadied in order to avoid clipping the heels of SUDARSHAN CHAKRA (T. S. Jodha).

 

After the race, SILVER RIVER was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that OUTSTANDING and SPONTANEOUS EDDIE were examined at the stables in the morning on 29/12/2017 and found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.6(91) – THE SPRUNGLI PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 11

 

JARAMA  (Dashrath Singh) jumped out slow losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, AN JOLIE (A. Imran Khan, dr. 2) jumped outwards and went across SENSEX (C. S. Jodha, dr. 3) who was slow to begin.

 

At the start, LOCARNO (App. K. Nazil, dr. 7) jumped inwards on to CEZANNE (B. Nikhil, dr. 6).

 

Passing the 100 metres, THE CIVILIAN (App. S. A. Amit) shifted in on to CEZANNE (B. Nikhil) who had to be steadied. After the race, App. S. A. Amit reported that his mount hung in despite his efforts. Trainer A. M. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, THE CIVILIAN, ALMOST MAGICAL and HEDWIG were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(92) – THE ONASSIS PLATE : (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 13 

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that at the request of Trainer P. Shroff, SIR PERCY BLAKENEY was scoped at the Equine Hospital on 26/12/2017 and found to be EIPH (Gr.3). As such, the gelding was withdrawn from this race on Veterinary grounds. The gelding is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After being stalled, GOSHAWK (P. Trevor) kicked the rear gate. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

After being stalled, ANDALUCIA (S. Zervan) got restless and started lashing the rear gates, as such, the filly was taken out and was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s order. Trainer Zadmal Singh has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

SUPER STRENGTH (T. S. Jodha) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, HOPEILICIOUS (A. Imran Khan, dr. 10) jumped outwards and made contact with ARC SHINE (Neeraj Rawal, dr. 11).

 

After the race, GOSHAWK, HELLS BELLS, HONOURABLE EYES, HOPEILICIOUS and JIGAR were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 4th and 7th race, viz. LORD OF THE SEA, YANNA RASCALA and NEMBE GREEK, and the special sample of OUTSTANDING & SILVER RIVER (5th race) and GOSHAWK (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RACE NO.17 –THE BANGALORE TURF CLUB TROPHY RUN ON 26th NOVEMBER, 2017

 

It was erroneously published in the above Race Day Report that Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been fined Rs. 3,000/- for the faulty saddling of his charge “DANCING PHOENIX”.

 

This being his first offence during the current Racing Season, Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been fined Rs. 2,000/- for the faulty saddling of his charge “DANCING PHOENIX”.

 

RACE NO.4(73) – THE SNOW DEW  PLATE RUN ON 22nd DECEMBER, 2017

 

It was erroneously published in the above Race Day Report that Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been fined Rs. 3,000/- for the faulty saddling of his charge “ARVAN”.

 

This being his first offence during the current Racing Season, Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been fined Rs. 2,000/- for the faulty saddling of his charge “ARVAN”.

 

RE : FALL OF “HORSE POWER” (SANDEEP JADHAV) IN RACE NO.4 – THE SNOW DEW  PLATE RUN ON 22nd DECEMBER, 2017 :

 

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that after reviewing the incident of fall in normal as well as slow motion, it was observed that HORSE POWER stumbled on his own and fell and there was no clip. As such no action was called for in the matter.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE LOSS OF WHIP BY JOCKEY T. S. JODHA (EAGLE SPIRIT) IN RACE NO.26 – THE SONALIKA PLATE (DIV.II) RUN ON 30th NOVEMBER, 2017:

 

Immediately after the race, Jockey T. S. Jodha (EAGLE SPIRIT) had reported that he had lost his whip at the start.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that having viewed the video footage from the Starting Stall camera (normal as well as in slow motion) and it was observed that when the gates opened Jockey T. S. Jodha’s whip got stuck in the frame of the gate and fell. Since the fall of the whip was accidental, no action has been initiated against the Jockey.

RE : INTERFERENCE CAUSED TO SNOW BLAST (P. TREVOR) AND TALL STORY (APP. RAGHUVEER SINGH) WHO HAD CLIPPED MEDELLIN AND STUMBLED IN RACE NO.74 – THE FREE RADICAL PLATE RUN ON 22nd DECEMBER, 2017 :

 

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that after reviewing the video recording of the above race, it was observed that approaching 450 metres, MEDELLIN (App. R. Ajinkya) had shifted in thereby tightening SNOW BLAST (P. Trevor) who had to be checked and change course.

 

Thereafter, passing 150 metres, MEDELLIN (App. R. Ajinkya) again shifted in thereby tightening and taking the ground of TALL STORY (App. Raghuveer Singh) who clipped the heels of the former and stumbled.

 

After the race, App. R. Ajinkya had reported that his mount hung in despite his efforts. Since MEDELLIN had hung-in in its previous start as well during the Pune Meeting 2017, Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race, before next accepting with her to race.

RE : INTERFERENCE CAUSED TO SIR SONG (APP. S. A. AMIT) IN RACE NO.85 – THE PERSIAN PRINCE PLATE RUN ON 24th DECEMBER, 2017 :

 

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that after reviewing the video recording of the above race, it was observed that passing the 700 metres, RESURGE (Dashrath Singh) had shifted in thereby forcing Jockey Suraj Narredu (FANTASIA) to check his mount, as a result he dropped back on to SIR SONG (App. S. A. Amit) who had to be checked and change course.

 

Thereafter, approaching the 600 metres, FANTASIA (Suraj Narredu) shifted out under urgings and at the same time TOWERING STORM (S. Zervan) leaned inwards, due to which SIR SONG (App. S. A. Amit) who was racing between them, was tightened for room and had to be checked and TOWERING STORM was also inconvenienced. Jockey Suraj Narredu has been severely cautioned.
