 RACE DAY REPORTS

EVENING RACING

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 6 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

RACE NO.1(303) –THE STEP BY STEP PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 9 

 

On arrival at the start, NEXTSTAR (P. S. Chouhan) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was certified fit to race.

 

Soon after the start, CEZANNE (D. A. Naik) shifted out on to ROSPOMARE (M. A. Roushan) who in turn shifted out and made contact with ROYAL ACE (G. Amit).

 

Passing the 300 metres, ROYAL ACE (G. Amit) shifted out under the use of whip. Jockey G. Amit has been severely reprimanded.

 

After the race, ROCK IN RIO, ROSPOMARE and ROYAL ACE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(304) – THE ROUND OFF PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 10

 

At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, HUZZAH’S PHOENIX was examined at 1230 hours on 28/04/2018 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg (sore shins). As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RED FORT (D. S. Daman) jumped out slow losing about 6 lengths at the start. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, STAR ACE (Anil Bandal, dr.5) jumped outwards and made contact with SWEEPING MOVE (Bhawani Singh, dr.6) forcing it outwards on to CRISTO BOSS (Hanumant Singh, dr.7).

 

Soon after the start, SHEER BELIEF (App. Raghuveer Singh) shifted in and made contact with SWEEPING MOVE (Bhawani Singh, dr. 6) who had to be steadied.

 

At the top of the straight, STAR ACE (Anil Bandal) was observed to have drifted out and thereafter raced in the center of the course. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

Passing 150 metres, Hanumant Singh (CRISTO BOSS) was observed to have fumbled with the reins. After the race, on questioning he stated that his reins had slipped and he had to gather the same. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the same and a report will submitted shortly.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that at the request of the Trainer, SWEEPING MOVE was scoped at the Equine Hospital after the race and found to be EIPH (Gr.III). The mare is not to race for the stipulated period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, CRISTO BOSS and SHEER BELIEF were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(305) –THE RAJCOOMAR GUJADHUR MEMORIAL TROPHY (DIV.II):(About) 1000 Metres – Runners- 9 

 

After the race, NATIVE PRINCE, ENCHANTED and SHIVALIK QUEEN were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(306) –THE RAJCOOMAR GUJADHUR MEMORIAL TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners- 9 

On arrival at the start, JULIO CESARO (Dashrath Singh) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was certified fit to race.

 

After the race, Jockey M. A. Roushan (NIGHT HAWK) reported that from the top of the straight his mount hung out. Also, the bit had displaced to the right in his effort to steady his mount, as such he could not ride to complete advantage. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey Amyn Merchant (CHEZZA) reported that his mount hung out negotiating the bend and thereafter ran green in the straight. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

  

After the race, Jockey Nikhil Naidu (ORIANA) reported that in the early part despite his efforts his mount refused to raise a fluent gallop. Thereafter, in the straight he found his mount leaning outwards. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly. 

 

After the race, JULIO CESARO, NIGHT HAWK, FIRE FLAME and ORIANA were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(307) – THE TRAINERS TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres –Runners- 11 

 

At the start, PRINCESS P (S. Zervan, dr.8) jumped and shifted inwards thereby bumping LOCARNO (App. H. Zeeshan, dr.7) who in turn shifted in causing a chain reaction due to which BENEFICIAL (Parbat Singh, dr.6), JAGURNAUT (D. S. Daman, dr.5), WILD FIRE (J. Chinoy, dr.4) had to be checked and GODS OWN (App. Raghuveer Singh, dr.2) was inconvenienced. Thereafter, Jockey J. Chinoy (WILD FIRE) in his effort to steady his mount shifted out thereby tightening BENEFICIAL (Parbat Singh, dr.6) & JAGURNAUT (D. S. Daman, dr.5). After the race, on questioning, Jockey S. Zervan stated that he lost his reins momentarily thereby losing control. Jockey S. Zervan has been fined Rs.3000/-.

 

Approaching 100 metres, SERENO (Vishal N. Bunde) shifted out under pressure and carried UNDISPUTED (K. Nazil) outwards. Jockey Vishal N. Bunde has been cautioned.

 

After the race, WILD FIRE and LOCARNO were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(308) – THE RACING JOURNALISTS TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 12

 

At the start, ROYAL CLASSIC (S. A. Amit, dr.8) jumped outwards and at the same time RAPID GIRL (G. Amit, dr.10) jumped inwards thereby inconveniencing BHAKTAWAR (Dashrath Singh, dr.9) who was drawn in between.

 

After the race, Jockey S. A. Amit (ROYAL CLASSIC) reported that he was denied a clear passage in the final stages of the race.

 

After the race, FRIBOURG, RIDGEWOOD STAR and BAKHTAWAR were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(309) – THE FOREST HILLS PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 11 

 

On arrival at the start, TIME OF MY LIFE (K. Nazil) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was certified fit to race.

 

AEOLUS MAXIMUS (App. Aniket Karande) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

After the race, ROYSTON ROCK was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 4th and 6th race, viz. NEXSTAR, EDEN ROCK and GOLDEN ECLIPSE, and the special sample of  BAKHTAWAR (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
