EVENING RACING

RAILS WERE PLACED 2  METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 11 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer Dallas Todywalla, permission was granted to Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait to saddle his charges GOLDIE’S PET (6th race) and STUNNER (8th race), at his (Trainer Dallas Todywalla’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(139) –THE ISN’T SHE SPECIAL PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 8 

 

ELEGANT BEAUTY (App. H. Zeeshan) jumped out slow losing about 5 lengths at the start. In view of above and a similar behavior of the mare in its previous start, Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting with her to race.

 

Passing 400 metres, ZANZIBAAR (App. S. J. Sunil) shifted out thereby inconveniencing BUNTING (A. Sandesh) who had to be steadied. App. S. J. Sunil has been cautioned.

 

After the race, App. S. Jaykumar (CEZANNE) reported that his mount hung out throughout the race. Trainer A. M. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, CARNIVAL was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ELEGANT BEAUTY was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, CEZANNE, BUNTING and ASPEN were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(140) – THE MAPLE STAR PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 9

 

On arrival at the start, FABIO (App. S. J. Sunil) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was certified fit to race.

 

On arrival at the start, RICH N RARE (App. Raghuveer Singh) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

ANDALUCIA (T. S. Jodha) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, ADAMS BEGINNING (Nirmal Jodha, dr. 8) jumped inwards and at the same time ADELE (Santosh G. dr. 7) leaned outwards and they made contact.

 

Passing 300 metres, ABRAXAS (App. N. B. Kuldeep) shifted in and went across FABIO (App. S. J. Sunil) along the rails, forcing the latter to be checked and change course.

 

Approaching 200 metres, WHOOPSIDAISY (Sandeep Jadhav) shifted out thereby tightening ANDALUCIA (T. S. Jodha) who had to be checked. Jockey Sandeep Jadhav has been cautioned.

 

On being questioned after the race, App. N. B. Kuldeep (ABRAXAS) stated that his mount hung in throughout the race despite his efforts. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, Jockey Nirmal Jodha (ADAMS BEGINNING) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Tr. Magansingh P. Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

After the race, MONEYWISE and FABIO were observed to have broken a blood vessel and are not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ADAMS BEGINNING, ABRAXAS and WHOOPSIDAISY were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(141) –THE SINGAPORE TURF CLUB TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners- 7 

 

MEDICI (T. S. Jodha) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Zadmal Singh has been asked to give the colt more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, MOUNT OLYMPUS (Dashrath Singh, dr. 2) jumped outwards on to IRON AGE (S. Zervan, dr. 3).

 

Soon after the start, MASAR (P. S. Chouhan, dr.4) shifted out on to FANFARE (C. S. Jodha, dr.5) who in turn shifted out on to SAVAGE KINGDOM (David Probert, dr.6) forcing the latter to be checked.

 

Approaching 800 metres, MEDICI (T. S. Jodha) was inclined to run out and had to be steadied.

 

Passing 700 metres, MEDICI (T. S. Jodha) and SHAPATH (Bhawani Singh) were observed to have jostled and thereafter MEDICI (T. S. Jodha) had to be steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey T. S. Jodha (MEDICI) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer Zadmal Singh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

 

After the race, MEDICI was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(142)–THE  SMASHING PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres–Runners- 11

 

FLASHING HONOUR (Dashrath Singh) jumped out slow losing about 5 lengths at the start. In view of above and a similar behavior of the gelding in its previous start, Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting with him to race.

 

Passing 700 metres, MASERATI (David Probert) shifted out and at the same time RELENTLESS PURSUIT (C. S. Jodha) shifted in there by inconveniencing LADY BE GOOD (Suraj Narredu) who was racing between them.

 

Passing 400 metres, RELENTLESS PURSUIT (C. S. Jodha) shifted in on to MANDRAKE (S. Zervan), who in turn shifted in tightening SYLVESTER (Nirmal Jodha) along the rails. Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.

 

Passing 200 metres, LADY BE GOOD (Suraj Narredu) shifted out on to ADONIJAH (A. Sandesh). Thereafter, passing 100 metres, LADY BE GOOD further shifted out and carried ADONIJAH (A. Sandesh) outwards. After questioning Jockey Suraj Narredu and not being satisfied with his explanation, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, LADY BE GOOD, FLASHING HONOUR, ADONIJAH and MASERATI were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(143) – THE MARCHETTA PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres –Runners- 8 

 

At the start, LOCARNO (App. H. Zeeshan, dr. 2) jumped inwards on to FLAMBOYANT FLAME (Suraj Narredu, dr. 1).

 

Passing 250 metres, ASCENSION (C. S. Jodha) shifted out and carried GLORIOUS LAND (Neeraj Rawal) outwards. After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Approaching 100 metres, FRINGE BENEFIT (App. M. Ayyar) shifted out thereby inconveniencing CYCLONE (S. Zervan) who had to be steadied. App. M. Ayyar has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey S. Zervan (CYCLONE) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, JUGGERNAUT, CYCLONE and LOCARNO were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(144) – THE SETH RAMNATH DAGA TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 7

 

SUPER SUNSHINE (S. Mosin) planted in the stall and lost considerable ground at the start. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching 400 metres, Jockey P. S. Chouhan (MYGRATOR) in an effort to create room for himself , dropped back, as a result CONGRESSIONAL (Santosh G.) who was racing on his haunches, had to be checked. Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been cautioned.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey P. S. Chouhan, the rider of MYGRATOR (Placed Second) against ABBEY (Suraj Narredu, Placed First). The reason being, after taking the final turn when he started to make his move from the rails, ABBEY shifted in whereby he had to check his mount, which cost him a certain race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to overrule the objection and forfeit the deposit.

 

After the race, GOLDIE’S PET was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(145) – THE ACADEMIC PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 13 

 

Trainer Nazak Chenoy informed this office that due to miscommunication, she had declared Jockey P. Trevor on her charge SHE’S A TIGER in this race and requested permission to declare Jockey S. Zervan in place of Jockey P. Trevor who had been declared at another centre. The said permission was granted and Trainer Nazak Chenoy has been fine Rs.1,000/- for this lapse.

 

At the start, CELESTIAL LIGHT (Dashrath Singh, dr. 1) jumped outwards and at the same time SHE’S A TIGER (S. Zervan, dr. 3) jumped inwards thereby tightening SNOW BLAST (App. H. Zeeshan, dr. 2).

 

Soon after the start, COUNSELLOR (A. Sandesh) who was racing between ELSA (Amyn Merchant) and TANJO (P.S. Chouhan), was tightened for room and had to be checked.

 

Passing the 300 metres, DIBABA (S. J. Sunil) hung out and carried EIGERS TIGER (T. S. Jodha) outwards. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

After the race, RINCON, PRICELESS ART and DIBABA were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(146) –THE MAPLE STAR PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners- 10 

 

On arrival at the start, BIDSTONE HILL (App. Parbat Singh) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was certified fit to race.

 

WALK ON BY (App. K. Nazil) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.

 

Soon after the start, PRICELESSGIRL (App. M. Ayyar) shifted in and went across the field on his inside thereby inconveniencing BLITZKRIEG (App. D. R. Shubham) who had to be checked. App. M. Ayyar has been severely reprimanded.

 

Passing 800 metres, BLITZKRIEG (App. D. R. Shubham) shifted out thereby inconveniencing AME (T. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied.

 

Approaching 200 metres, ROCK IN RIO (App. H. Zeeshan) weakened and shifted out and at the same time DHISHOOM (App. S. Joseph) made his move on his outside and was forced to shift out thereby bumping and carrying BLITZKRIEG (App. D. R. Shubham) outwards.

 

After the race, BLITZKRIEG was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ROCK IN RIO was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, WALK ON BY, SUPER ICON and BIDSTONE HILL were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9(147) –THE ACADEMIC PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners- 12 

 

After being stalled, FENCING (Nirmal Jodha) hooked one of its hind leg on the side platform momentarily. The mare was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified her fit to race.

 

At the start, MASSIMO (David Probert, dr. 4) jumped inwards and made contact with HUZZAH’S GRACE (Dashrath Singh, dr. 3). Thereafter, MASSIMO (David Probert) further shifted in thereby tightening HUZZAH’S GRACE (Dashrath Singh) along the rails. Jockey David Probert has been cautioned.

 

In the final stages of the race, HOPEILICIOUS (S. Zervan) shifted out on to DUSKY SIREN (T. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied.

 

In the final stages of the race, MY PRECIUOUS (Bhawani Singh) was observed to run erratic thereby tightening MASSIMO (David Probert) along the rails. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, FENCING, HUZZAH’S GRACE and WINDFALL were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th  race, viz. DROGO, SPEEDO, LADY BE GOOD and ASCENSION, and the special sample of FABIO (2nd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : MORNING TRACK ON 24th JANUARY, 2018 :

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that LADY SERGEANT was observed after morning track work on 24th January, 2018 to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the filly is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
