 RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 7 METRES  AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND THEREAFTER 9 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 9 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer C. D. Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer S. Waheed to saddle his charge PALATIAL in the 5th race, at his (Trainer C. D. Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(78) –THE AU PANACHE PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 6 

 

FLASHING HONOUR (Neeraj Rawal) jumped out slow losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, HARMONY (Dashrath Singh, dr.6) jumped outwards and was steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha (SAMARJEET) reported that his mount was inclined to run out from top of the straight. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, BABY FACE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(79) – THE KHEEM SINGH GOLD CUP: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 6

 

Passing the 350 metres, SULLIVAN (S. Zervan) shied outwards thereby inconveniencing MOZART (Neeraj Rawal).

 

After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh (RETAINED ASSET) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Further, he also stated that the colt behaves in a similar manner during Morning Track Work. As such Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

 

After the race, ART MANOEUVRE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(80) –THE MUNICIPAL COMMISSIONER’S TROPHY:(About) 1600 Metres – Runners- 8 

 

At the start, ARTUS (P. S. Chouhan, dr.6) jumped outwards on to SAGITTARIUS (A. Imran Khan, dr.7) who in turn shifted out on to ARASHI (Dashrath Singh, dr.8).

 

Passing the 1400 metres, Jockey P. S. Chouhan (ARTUS) in an effort to settle his mount shifted in and made contact with KIMBERELLA (Suraj Narredu) who had to be checked and dropped back, thereby inconveniencing MANDRAKE (S. Zervan). Thereafter, approaching the 1200 metres ARTUS (P. S. Chouhan) shifted out and made contact with SAGITTARIUS (A. Imran Khan). After the race, on questioning, Jockey P. S. Chouhan stated that as the pace slowed down, in his effort to settle his mount it had behaved erratic.

 

Passing the 500 metres, MANDRAKE (S. Zervan) shifted out and made contact with SOUTHERN STORM (P. Trevor).

 

After the race, Jockey S. Zervan (MANDRAKE) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. As such, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, ARASHI and ARTUS were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(81) – THE KUSUMBEN DHIRUBHAI SHAH TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres –Runners- 7 

 

At the start, LINCOLN (H. Zeeshan dr.4) jumped outwards, at the same time JUGGERNAUT (C. S. Jodha dr.5) jumped inwards and they made contact, thereafter JUGGERNAUT (C. S. Jodha dr. 5) ricocheted onto ORACLE (P. Trevor dr. 6).

 

Soon after the start, ELYSEE (R. Ajinkya) veered out brushing the haunches of RIDER ON THE STORM (App. Raghuveer Singh) who had to be steadied. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

RACE NO.5(82) – THE MAHARAJA JIWAJIRAO SCINDIA TROPHY (GR.2): (About) 1800 Metres –Runners- 7 

 

At the start, WHOMAKESTHERULES (Suraj Narredu, dr.1) jumped outwards thereby inconveniencing ASTER ROSE (Dashrath Singh, dr.2).

 

Passing the 300 metres, WHOMAKESTHERULES (Suraj Narredu) shifted out on to B FIFTY TWO (P. Trevor) who further shifted out on to JEFFERSON (S. Zervan).

 

After the race, JEFFERSON was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The horse has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, B FIFTY TWO was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(83) – THE S.M.SHAH TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 15

 

At the request of Trainer Vishal Gaikwad, INTREPID was examined at 1045 hours on 22/12/2017 and was found to be sore by the left hind leg. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

At the request of Jockey Neeraj Rawal, the saddle on his mount MOUNT MCKINLEY was readjusted upon arriving at the start.

 

At the start, BULLION EXPRESS (Amyn Merchant, dr.11) jumped outwards on to ADONIJAH (P. Trevor, dr.12).

 

At the start, ARABIAN STORM (C. S. Jodha, dr.13) was observed to have lost its footing and stumbled.

 

Soon after the start, due to a tightly packed field GRAND PASSAGE (Bhawani Singh) was inconvenienced.

 

Soon after the start, PASS THE GLORY (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted out and carried RELENTLESS PURSUIT (App. K. Nazil) outwards, forcing the latter to be checked. App. H. Zeeshan has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 1200 metres, PASS THE GLORY (App. H. Zeeshan) was tightened for room between SAFDAR and GLORIOUS ANGEL and had to drop back, due to which RAPID GIRL (S. S. Baria), travelling behind PASS THE GLORY was inconvenienced.

 

In the last 100 metres, BRAZOS (App. S. J. Sunil) shifted in thereby tightening MOUNT MCKINLEY (Neeraj Rawal) who had to be checked. After the race, Jockey S. J. Sunil reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, PASS THE GLORY was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SAFDAR and BRAZOS were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(84) – THE CONRAD PEREIRA TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 11 

 

After being stalled, SECOND INNINGS (App. N. B. Kuldeep) reared up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

At the start, EL TYCOON (S. G. Prasad, dr.8) jumped inwards and made contact with MULTISTAR (A. Imran Khan, dr.7) who in turn shifted in and went across INVICTUS MANEO (Dashrath Singh, dr.6) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

At the start, KINGSTON HEATH (App. Santosh G., dr.10) jumped inwards and brushed the haunches of STUNNER (P. S. Chouhan, dr.9) who in turn shifted in and made contact with EL TYCOON (S. G. Prasad, dr.8).

 

At the start, MOROCCO (R. Shelar, dr.4) and FURIOSA (Bhawani Singh, dr.5) made contact with each other.

 

Passing the 900 metres, due to a tightly packed field FURIOSA (Bhawani Singh) had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 150 metres, STUNNER (P. S. Chouhan) shifted out thereby inconveniencing EL TYCOON (S. G. Prasad) who had to be steadied.

Jockey A. Imran Khan (MULTISTAR) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the permissible limit on his mount. This being his first offence, he has been fined Rs. 3,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey J. E. Pereira (TORETTO) reported that his mount threw its head at the start.

 

RACE NO.8(85) – THE PERSIAN PRINCE PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 10 

 

At the request of Jockey S. Zervan, the saddle on his mount TOWERING STORM was readjusted upon arriving at the start.

 

Approaching the 600 metres, RESURGE (Dashrath Singh) shifted in and inconvenienced FANTASIA (Suraj Narredu). Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 600 metres, SIR SONG (App. S. A. Amit) was inconvenienced between FANTASIA (Suraj Narredu) and TOWERING STORM (S. Zervan). The Stipendiary Stewards would be looking into this incident and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd, 5th, 6th and 8th race, viz. KIMBERELLA, TEMERITY, PRICELESS ART and FANTASIA, as also that of WHOMAKESTHERULES (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
