RACE DAY REPORTS

(EVENING RACING)

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 3 METRES  AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND THEREAFTER 5 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

CHANGE OF JOCKEYS:

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh submitted a letter stating that he would not be able to fulfil his riding engagements on this day since he had committed to ride at D.R.C. He also accepted that it was due to an error of miscommunication on his part  that Trainer Narendra Lagad had declared him to ride his two horses. In view of the above, the Stewards permitted the following change of riders:-

Race No.6(13)     -               MAGICAL SCRIPT              -   Jockey J. Chinoy.

 

In the above connection, Jockey Dashrath Singh was fined Rs.10,000/- by the Stewards for his negligence.

 RACE NO.1(8) –THE GRAND PASSION PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 7 

 

VOULEZ VOUS (App. M. Ayyar) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.

 

Passing 400 metres, RARE SILVER (App. Raghuveer Singh) drifted out and carried PHILADELPHIA (Neeraj Rawal) outwards. App. Raghuveer Singh has been cautioned.

 

Passing 150 metres, GOOD THING (P. Trevor) shifted in thereby inconveniencing VOULEZ VOUS (App. M. Ayyar) who had to be steadied. After the race, Jockey P. Trevor reported that his filly maintained an erratic course throughout the straight. Tr. Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, DOUBLEDOWN was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race GOOD THING and RARE SILVER were trotted and found to be sound. GOOD THING had an abrasion at the right hind pastern and left hind fetlock.            

 

RACE NO.2(9) – THE STAR ADMIRAL PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 7

 

After being stalled, FENCING (Nirmal Jodha) hooked one of her hind leg on the side platform. The filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified her fit to race. After being stalled, FENCING behaved in a similar manner, as such the filly was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, PRETTY ANGEL and TOMAHAWK were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(10) –THE MAHARAJA SIR PRATAPSINGH GAEKWAD TROPHY:(About) 1400 Metres – Runners-7 - NO REPORT

 

RACE NO.4(11) – THE KIARA PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres –Runners- 7 

 

Approaching 400 metres, SHAMWARI (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted out and went across DOUBLE NINE (J. Chinoy). Thereafter, passing 200 metres SHAMWARI shifted in thereby inconveniencing DOUBLE NINE (J. Chinoy) and then once again drifted out and carried WISE CHILD (P. Trevor) outwards. After questioning App H. Zeeshan, he has been severely reprimanded for failing to maintain a straight course.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the riding of Jockey J. Chinoy on DOUBLE NINE and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, MERABELLA and ALPINE EXPRESS (examined on 25/11/2017) were trotted and found to be sound.  MERABELLA had a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.5(12) – THE EXCALIBUR BY NAHAR TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 9 

 

TAR HEEL (J. E. Pereira) was reluctant to be stalled. QUESTIONABLE (Amyn Merchant) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. Trainers Imtiaz A. Sait and C. D. Katrak have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, MY PRECIOUS (Y. S. Srinath, dr. 4) jumped inwards and at the same time CHAPLIN (J. Chinoy, dr. 3) jumped outwards and they made contact.

 

Approaching 1000 metres, Jockey Y. S. Srinath (MY PRECIOUS) in an effort to settle his mount, shifted out thereby inconveniencing INTREPID (Neeraj Rawal), who in turn shifted out on to QUESTIONABLE (Amyn Merchant).

 

Passing 450 metres, INTREPID (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out thereby taking the ground of ACE TWO THREE (N. S. Parmar) who had to be checked. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been severely reprimanded.

 

Passing 300 metres, ARC SHINE (S. J. Sunil) shifted in and went across TENERIFE (P. Trevor) who had to be steadied. Jockey S. J. Sunil has been cautioned.

 

From the 400 metres, QUESTIONABLE (Amyn Merchant) was observed to have hung in despite the Jockey’s efforts. Trainer C. D. Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (TENERIFE) reported that his mount was hesitant to take the gap and shied away from the other runners.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of TENERIFE and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, TAR HEEL, MY PRECIOUS and TENERIFE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(13) – THE GREAT GUNS PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 8

 

Trainer Nirad Karanjawalla has been fined 2,000/- for declaring incorrect shoeing on his charge JEENA wherein the mare was declared to have Steel shoes on all four legs but ran with Aluminium shoes on all four legs.

 

At the start, CLOUDBURST (App. Raghuveer Singh, dr. 4) jumped inwards thereby inconveniencing FERNABACHE (C. S. Jodha, dr. 3).

 

Soon after the start, Jockey Bhawani Singh (SUDARSHAN CHAKRA, dr. 5) in an effort to settle his mount, shifted in and at the same time CLOUDBURST (App. Raghuveer Singh, dr. 4) shifted out and they made contact.

 

Passing 400 metres, ROYAL CLASSIC (Nirmal Jodha) drifted out and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (DUSKY SIREN) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, Jockey Y. S. Srinath (XOXO) reported that his mount hung out in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer S. S. Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, FERNEBACHE was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The horse has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SUDARSHAN CHAKRA was observed to have a cut injury at the right fore cannon and DUSKY SIREN had a gum injury. CLOUDBURST was found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.7(14) – THE GREAT GUNS PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 8 

 

DRAGONMOSS (Nirmal Jodha) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. After being stalled, ALFONSO (App. Raghuveer Singh) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainers Adhirajsingh Jodha and Narendra Lagad have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, BLACK JAGUAR (B. Nikhil, dr. 2) jumped outwards on to RISING CONCERT (App. N. B. Kuldeep, dr. 3).

 

Passing 300 metres, DRAGONMOSS (Nirmal Jodha) was observed to have drifted out under pressure. After questioning, Jockey Nirmal Jodha has been severely reprimanded for having persisted to use the whip from the right despite his mount drifting out.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of GOLDSMITH and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, LUCKY STRIKE was trotted and found to be sound.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS :

 

RE: REPORT FROM THE SECURITY-CUM-VIGILANCE OFFICER OF THE CLUB REGARDING MISBEHAVIOUR/MISCONDUCT BY MR. RAJESH SUDHAKAR PATIL AND MR. VISHWAS KISAN TAKALKAR

TOWARDS THE OFFICIALS OF THE  CLUB ON 2nd NOVEMBER, 2017 :

          

1. The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 19th November, 2017 interviewed Mr. Rajesh Sudhakar Patil and his Spokesman Mr.Rane, in reference to the captioned subject matter.

 

The Stewards considered all the submissions made by Mr. Rajesh Sudhakar Patil and his Spokesman as also the Security-cum-Vigilance Officer and the Chief Stipendiary Steward of the Club. Having considered all papers, proceedings, documents etc. and having heard all concerned and having deliberated the matter at length the Stewards of the Club were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Mr. Rajesh Sudhakar Patil and held him guilty of misbehavior and threatening an Official of the Club who was on duty and directed the Stipendiary Stewards to take such action in the matter as they deem fit.

 

Accordingly, the Stipendiary Stewards decided to fine Mr. Rajesh Sudhakar Patil a sum of Rs.20,000/- and severely caution him for his misbehavior and threatening an official of the Club who was on duty.

 

Mr. Rajesh Sudhakar Patil was informed the Stipendiary Stewards had taken a lenient view in the matter considering that he had tendered an apology to the Official concerned and assured the Stewards that he would not repeat such behavior in the future.

 

2. The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 19th November, 2017 interviewed Mr. Vishwas Kisan Takalkar and his Spokesman Mr. Chowgule, in reference to the captioned subject matter.

 

The Stewards considered all the submissions made by Mr. Vishwas Kisan Takalkar and his Spokesman as also the Security-cum-Vigilance Officer and the Chief Stipendiary Steward of the Club. Having considered all papers, proceedings, documents etc. and having heard all concerned and having deliberated the matter at length the Stewards of the Club were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Mr. Vishwas Kisan Takalkar and held him guilty of misbehavior towards an Official of the Club who was on duty. However, keeping in mind that he had tendered an unconditional apology to the concerned official and assured the Stewards that he would not repeat such behavior in the future, the Stewards took a lenient view in the matter and decided to only caution him to be more careful in the future.
