RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 5 METRES  AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer C. D. Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer S. Waheed to saddle his charges EMOTIONLESS (5th race), QUESTIONABLE (6th race) and BEDROOM EYES (8th race), at his (Trainer C. D. Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(70) –THE WILD EAGLE PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 8 

 

MASQUERADE (David Probert) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing 400 metres, GDANSK (A. Imran Khan) shifted out and carried JAGER BOMB (P. Trevor) outwards. On being questioned after the race, Jockey A. Imran Khan stated that his mount hung out despite his efforts. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, JAGER BOMB and FINEST MOMENT were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(71) – THE RAJPIPLA TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 7

 

Trainer M. Narredu has been fined Rs.3,000/- for late declaration in respect of his charge SILVER BEAUTY.

 

On arrival at the start, STARISTOCRAT (S. A. Amit) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was certified fit to race.

 

Passing 450 metres, RAEES (C. S. Jodha) shifted in thereby tightening PHENOMENAL MEMORY (S. J. Sunil) along the rails. On being questioned after the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha reported that his mount leaned inwards, In view of the interference, Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.

 

Passing 250 metres, SILVER BEAUTY (Yash Narredu) shifted in thereby inconveniencing RAEES (C. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied. After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu reported that his mount hung in despite his efforts. Tr. M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, STARISTOCRAT and SILVER BEAUTY were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(72) –THE SHANTIDAS ASKURAN TROPHY:(About) 1000 Metres – Runners- 7 

 

Trainer M. Narredu has been fined Rs.3,000/- for late declaration in respect of his charge KRAMER.

 

After the race, Jockey P. S. Chouhan (KRAMER) reported that in the last 150 metres, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (GOD’S OWN) had shifted in thereby inconveniencing him.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that KRAMER was examined at the stables in the morning on 23/12/2017 and was found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.4(73) – THE SNOW DEW  PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres –Runners- 7 

 

Approaching 800 metres, OLIVIA KASPEN (C. S. Jodha) shifted in due to which HORSE POWER (Sandeep Jadhav) who was racing on its haunches, clipped the former and fell. The Stipendiary Stewards would be looking into this incident and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that HORSE POWER fell down at the 800 metres. On examination, the mare was found to have broken her right shoulder. The mare was euthanized on humane grounds after obtaining consent of the Trainer.

 

Jockey A. Imran Khan (ARVAN) was observed to have lost his whip in the last 50 metres.  On questioning, Jockey A. Imran Khan stated that the whip had slipped. This being his second offence during the current Mumbai meeting, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race Jockey A. Imran Khan (ARVAN) reported that the saddle on his mount had slipped during the race. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been fined Rs.3,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge and has been asked to be more careful in the future.

 

After the race, ZION was found to be sore by the right hind leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, OLIVIA KASPEN and SPARKLING THEA were trotted and found to be sound.  OLIVIA KASPEN had an abrasion at the left hind hock and ARVAN had a cut injury at the left hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.5(74) – THE FREE RADICAL PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres –Runners- 9 

 

At the start, TALL STORY (App. Raghuveer Singh, dr. 3) jumped inwards thereby inconveniencing ANGEL COIN (Amyn Merchant, dr. 2) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

Passing 650 metres, EMOTIONLESS (P. S. Chouhan) drifted out and carried MASTER SERGEANT (S. S. Baria) outwards. After the race it was observed that the bit used on EMOTIONALESS was broken.

 

After the race, Jockey P. S. Chouhan (EMOTIONLESS) reported that soon after the start the bit used on his mount broke, as such he was unable to ride out. Trainer C. D. Katrak has been fined Rs. 1,000/- for using unserviceable equipment.

 

Approaching 450 metres, MEDELLIN (App. R. Ajinkya) shifted in and made contact with SNOW BLAST (P. Trevor) who had to be checked. Thereafter, passing 150 metres, MEDELLIN (App. R. Ajinkya) again shifted in thereby tightening and causing TALL STORY (App. Raghuveer Singh) to clip the heels of the former and stumble. After the race, App. R. Ajinkya reported that his mount hung in despite his efforts. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into this incident and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, MEDELLIN, SNOW BLAST (examined on 23/12/2017) and GOLDEN ORCHID (examined on 23/12/2017) were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(75) – THE DAMODARDAS C.SHAH TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 12

 

After being stalled, BRAINSTORM (David Probert) got restless and rushed the front gates. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

Approaching 1000 metres, LADY COACHMAN (A. Sandesh), in an effort to settle his mount, shifted in on to DISHOOM (App. Raghuveer Singh), who in turn shifted in thereby inconveniencing DAKOTA (S. S. Baria) who had to be steadied

 

Passing 900 metres, QUESTIONABLE (Amyn Merchant) shifted in thereby inconveniencing LADY COACHMAN (A. Sandesh).

 

Approaching 800 metres, MAJESTICAL (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted in and carried QUESTIONABLE (Amyn Merchant) inwards on to LADY COACHMAN (A. Sandesh), who was tightened along the rails and had to be checked. App. H. Zeeshan has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Passing 200 metres, GOLD FIELD (App. D. R. Shubham) shifted out and went across GLORIANA (P. Trevor) who had to be steadied. After questioning, App. D. R. Shubham has been cautioned.

 

Jockey S. G. Prasad (SMART CHOICE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. After the race, Jockey S. G. Prasad reported that his mount hung out in the straight and he had used the whip as a corrective measure, as such no action has been initiated against him. However Trainer Vijay Kasbekar has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey C. S. Jodha (DEMOCRAT) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha reported that his mount hung-in in the straight and he had used the whip as a corrective measure, as such no action has been initiated against him. However Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, DHISHOOM, TALLY HO, BRAINSTORM, DAKOTA and SMART CHOICE (examined on 23/12/2017) were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(76) – THE BOURBON KING PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 7 

 

TURNING POINT (P. Trevor) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (GOLDEN WEAVER) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, STAR COMRADE was observed to have a gum injury. GOLDEN WEAVER was found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.8(77) – THE DAMODARDAS C.SHAH TROPHY (DIV.II) : (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12 

 

At the start, TAR HEEL (J. E. Pereira, dr.2) jumped outwards and at the same time PORVI (S. S. Baria, dr.3) jumped inwards and they made contact.

 

At the start, UNTITLED (Hanumant Singh, dr.4) jumped outwards and at the same time SNOW CRYSTAL (S. Sunil, dr.6) jumped inwards thereby tightening TESSA (A. Sandesh, dr.5).

 

Passing 700 metres, Jockey A. Sandesh (TESSA) was observed to have lost his balance and fell.

 

Passing 200 metres, BLAZING STEPS (B. Nikhil) shifted in under pressure thereby inconveniencing STAR OF THEA (Dashrath Singh). Jockey B. Nikhil has been cautioned.

 

Jockey Hanumant Singh (UNTITLED) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th race, viz. ANACAPRI, ZION, SNOW BLAST and DEMOCRAT, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:

 

RE: STEWARDS’ ENQUIRY IN RACE NO.57 – THE KEJRIWAL TROPHY RUN ON 16th DECEMBER, 2017  – JOCKEY P.S.CHOUHAN SUSPENDED BY THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB W.E.F. 04/01/2018 TO 18/01/2018 FOR DANGEROUS RIDING ON “RISING BRAVE” -–:

 

Jockey P. S. Chouhan submitted a letter dated 20th December, 2017 stating that he did not wish to appeal against the above decision of the Stewards of the Club and would like his punishment to start with immediate effect.

 

In view of the above, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on 22nd December, 2017 decided that Jockey P. S. Chouhan’s license shall now stand suspended w.e.f. 28th December, 2017 to 11th January, 2018 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

RE: RACE NO. 68 – THE COLE GOLD TROPHY (DIV.I) RUN ON 17th DECEMBER, 2017:

 

As per the Race Day Report published in respect of the above mentioned race, Trainer Rehanullah Khan was fined 2,000/- for declaring incorrect shoeing on his charge ROYAL BLOOD wherein the gelding was declared to run with plain Aluminium shoes on all four legs but ran with Square Toe Aluminium shoes on both fore legs and plain Aluminium shoes on both hind legs.

 

Subsequently, Trainer Rehanullah Khan pointed out that vide his mail dated 15th December, 2017 he had intimated the office that his charge would be sporting aluminium square toe plates on both fore legs. As such the above mentioned fine has been rescinded.
