RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT
On a request from Trainer P. Shroff, permission was granted to Trainer Vishal Gaikwad to saddle his charge ADONIJAH in the 3rd race, at his own (Trainer P. Shroff’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(105) – THE ASPINALLS PLATE : (About) 1800 Metres – 6 Runners
After the race, Jockey S. J. Sunil (KING OF KILLEN) reported that passing the 300 metres, in an effort to change his whip hand, his whip got entangled with his reins and fell.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of WE BREAK THE RULES and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, DANSE DEBONAIRE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, SWEET MUSIC was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(106) – THE GAMBLE FOR LOVE TROPHY : (About) 1000 Metres – 4 Runners
Soon after the start, DEEP DIVER (App. S. A. Amit) shifted in thereby tightening HARVEY (A. Imran Khan) who had to be checked.
Approaching 700 metres, DEEP DIVER (App. S. A. Amit) shifted in thereby tightening BRYNHILL (Santosh G.) along the rails. Thereafter, DEEP DIVER (App. S. A. Amit) maintained an erratic course thereby inconveniencing BRYNHILL (Santosh G.). The stipendiary Stewards are looking into this incident and a report will be submitted shortly.
The Sr. V.O. reported that DEEP DIVER was examined at the stables in the morning on 11/09/2017 and was found to be sound in the trot.
RACE NO.3(107) – THE TRUE ELEGANCE PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 6 Runners
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (ADONIJAH) reported that his mount lugged-in throughout the race. Trainer P. Shroff has to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.
The Sr. V.O. reported that ADONIJAH was examined at the stables in the morning on 11/09/2017 and was found to be sound in the trot.
RACE NO.4(108) – THE COL.KAIKHUSHROO MANECKJI BHARUCHA MEMORIAL TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 9 Runners
BOURBON LEGEND (Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Soon after the start, MAESTRO (Santosh G.) shifted out and had to be steadied.
Passing 900 metres, ARC SHINE (Amyn Merchant) shifted in thereby inconveniencing and tightening SERENO (A. Imran Khan) and SOLO MISSION (A. M. Tograllu) respectively. Jockey Amyn Merchant has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of SERENO and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, LA MOTTE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, SERENO was trotted and found to be sound but having a cut injury at the right hind hock. BOURBON LEGEND had a gum injury.
RACE NO.5(109) – THE PENNYWISE PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 9 Runners
Approaching 200 metres, DOMINATION (Yash Narredu) shifted in and made contact with FOREST FAIRY (Santosh G.). Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned.
The Sr. V.O. reported that after returning from the race, ET VOILA showed signs of distress in the paddock. The filly recovered after cold water hosing and First Aid treatment and after observation for half an hour she was sent to the stable.
RACE NO.6(110) – THE DECENT PROPOSAL PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 8 Runners
At the request of Trainer Rehanullah Khan, ETERNAL SUNSHINE was examined at 0845 hours on 09/09/2017 and was found to have a cut injury at the right side of the tongue. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with her to race.
After the race, VALENTINO, PUGNACIOUS and PAPAKURA were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.7(111) – THE COL.KAIKHUSHROO MANECKJI BHARUCHA MEMORIAL TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners
TILL END OF TIME (N. S. Parmar) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Approaching 400 metres, TILL END OF TIME (N. S. Parmar) was observed to have lost its footing and stumbled. Thereafter, passing the 300 metres the filly was observed to have stumbled again. The Sr. V.O. was requested to examine the filly and he reported that no abnormality was detected.
RACE NO.8(112) – THE PLEASURES PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 17 Runners
ROYAL ACE (J. Pradeep) took a awkward fly jump thus losing about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting, before next accepting to race.
At the start, ARAVAN (M. A. Roushan, dr.3) jumped outwards and made contact with DEMOCRAT (App. M. Ayyar, dr.4).
Soon after the start, SHE’S A TIGER (Santosh. G) shifted in and brushed the haunches of SYNCRONICITY (Amyn Merchant). Thereafter, SYNCRONICITY shifted out and carried SHE’S A TIGER (Santosh G.) outwards on to TRAVISIO (S. J. Sunil) who was inclined inwards.
Soon after the start, DIVINE MAGIC (C. S. Jodha, dr.2) shifted out thereby tightening ARVAN (M. A. Roushan, dr.3) who had to be checked.
Passing 1100 metres, due to a tightly packed field, DEMOCRAT (App. M. Ayyar) shifted in and tightened DIVINE MAGIC (C. S. Jodha) and WARLOCK (Dashrath Singh) whereby both the horses had to be checked.
Passing 300 metres, SLAM DUNK (App. D. S. Daman) drifted out and carried CRYSTAL BALL (A. Imran Khan) outwards.
After the race, DEMOCRAT was observed to have a cut injury at the right fore bulb of heel and had lost its right fore shoe. TRAVIESO and FLUTE PLAYER were found to be sound in the trot.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th race, viz. HARVEY, KRAMER, CARBONARA and ASCENSION, and the special sample of SERENO (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
