RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT AT 1300 METRES  (BACK STRETCH), 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 1100 METRES AND THEREAFTER EXTENDING TO 10 METRES AWAT AT 1000 METRES UP TO THE WINNING POST. 

 

RACE NO.1(23)–  THE ARTS PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres – 7 Runners

 

MOMENTUM (Y. S. Srinath) refused to be stalled despite substantial efforts, as such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Tr. P. Shroff has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SPEED OF SOUND (App. Niranjan S. Parmar, dr.4) jumped awkwardly outwards.

 

Soon after the start, KANCHENJUNGA (P. Trevor) shifted out due to which RED INDIAN (S. Zervan) shied outwards and went across HUZZAH’S GRACE (C. S. Jodha), causing the latter to clip and stumble.

 

After the race, KANCHENJUNGA was trotted and found to be sound, the filly had lost her right hind shoe. SPEED OF SOUND had an injury at the left nostril.

 

RACE NO.2(24) – THE NELSON RIVER PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres – 9 Runners

 

THEOBROMA (B. Nikhil) was reluctant to be stalled.  Tr. Shazaan Shah has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, MAJESTICAL (Bhawani Singh, dr. 5) jumped outwards on to GOLDEN WEAVER (App. K. Nazil, dr. 6) who in turn shifted out on to MERVEILLEUSE (Neeraj Rawal, dr. 7).

 

At the start, ACE TWO THREE (P. S. Chouhan, dr. 2) jumped inwards on to STRONG VALUES (T. S. Jodha, dr. 1). Thereafter, TIMELESS DEEDS (Dashrath Singh, dr. 3) shifted in on to ACE TWO THREE who in turn shifted in tightening STRONG VALUES, forcing the latter to be checked.

 

TRUE GRIT (C. S. Jodha) was observed to have hung out in the straight. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, TIMELESS DEEDS was observed to have an injury at the right hind coronet. MERVEILLEUSE, ACE TWO THREE and TUE GRIT were sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.3 (25) – THE KIA ORA PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 8 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Karthik Ganapathy, STAR COMRADE was examined at 1000 hours on 03/08/2018.  The gelding showed symptoms of colic since 0900 hours, as such, he was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.  The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with him to race.

 

At the start, BUNTING (App. K. Nazil, dr. 7) jumped outwards at the same time BOTTEGA LOUIE (C. S. Jodha, dr. 9) leaned inwards thereby tightening ZANZIBAAR (App. A. S. Peter, dr. 8) who was drawn between them.

 

Passing the 400 metres, PIONEER (P. S. Chouhan) shifted out on to BOTTEGA LOUIE (C. S. Jodha). Thereafter, BOTTEGA LOUIE shifted in thereby tightening PIONEER, forcing the latter to check and change course. After the race, on questioning, Jockey C. S. Jodha stated that his mount hung in despite his efforts. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh (CLASSICUS) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer Zadmal Singh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, BUNTING was observed to have a gum injury. CLASSICUS was examined at the stables in the morning on 05/08/2018 and found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.4(26) –  THE RADICAL FORCE PLATE  : (About) 1600 Metres – 9 Runners

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (SELFIE STAR) reported that his mount leaned inwards under pressure. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, CARBONARA was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Also, the gelding had a cut injury at the right hind tendon and above the hock. At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, CARBONARA was scoped at the Equine Hospital and it was confirmed to be EIPH (Gr. IV) and the gelding was sampled. The gelding is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that ODESSA showed signs of distress after reaching the saddling enclosure after the race. After cold water hosing and first aid treatment, the gelding recovered and was kept under observation for half an hour and thereafter allowed to go to its stable. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with her to race.

 

RACE NO.5(27) –  THE AUGUST HANDICAP: (About) 1400 Metres – 8 Runners

 

At the start, QUAIL HOLLOW (P. Trevor, dr. 4) jumped outwards on to FLAMMEUS (App. K. Nazil, dr. 5).

 

Jockey Y. S. Srinath (HOPE AND GLORY) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the permissible limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting, Jockey Y. S. Srinath has been fined Rs. 3,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (SHE IS A SPY) reported that his mount hung-in in the final furlong. Trainer S. S. Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, Jockey T. S. Jodha (JETFIRE) reported that his mount leaned in at the top of the straight and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, JETFIRE was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock. SHE IS A SPY was examined at the stables in the morning on 05/08/2018 and found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.6(28) – THE  GOODNESS GRACIOUS PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 10 Runners

 

HUNAYN (T. S. Jodha) played up in the stall and hooked both its fore legs in the adjoining stall and in the process, the saddle on the gelding got displaced. The gelding was taken out, the saddle was adjusted and the gelding was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race. Thereafter, HUNAYN refused to be stalled despite substantial efforts, as such, he was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Tr. Himmat Singh  has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, WINDFALL (App. A. S. Peter) shifted out onto SPARKLING THEA (App. Aniket Karande) who in turn shifted out and made contact with AQUARIUS (App. R. Ajinkya) forcing him outwards on to SUERTE (Bhawani Singh).

 

After the race, App. M. Ayyar (JULIANO) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer S. S. Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Passing the 800 metres, App. Malam Singh (ADAMS BEGINNING) shifted in and bumped OLIVIA KASPEN (S. A. Amit) causing it to stumble. App. Malam Singh has been referred back to the riding instructor to improve his riding skills. Further, he has also been advised to not accept rides until further orders.

 

After the race, ARC OF PASSION was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind hock and tendon.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 3rd and 6th race, viz. GOLDEN WEAVER, PIONEER and FURIOSA, and the special sample of KANCHENJUNGA (1st race) and MERVEILLEUSE (2nd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : RACE NO.14–  THE ALLEY CAT PLATE – DIV I RUN ON 26th JULY, 2018:

 

IMPALA (Dashrath Singh) was declared to run with bandages on both hind legs but the gelding raced without bandages. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been fined Rs. 1,000/- for the lapse.

 

ROCK IN RIO (Bhawani Singh) was declared to run with bandages on both fore legs but the gelding raced without bandages. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been fined Rs. 1,000/- for the lapse.

RE : RACE NO.16–  THE GREY AREA PLATE RUN ON 27th JULY, 2018:

 

WIZARD OF ODDS (App. K. Nazil) was declared to run with all four aluminum high heels but the gelding raced sporting all four aluminum shoes. Trainer S. Waheed has been fined Rs. 2,000/- for the lapse and not Rs.1,000/- as erroneously printed in the race day reports.
