ADDITIONAL
REPORTS :
RE
: COMPLAINT LODGED BY APP.M.AYYAR AGAINST HIS MASTER TRAINER M.NARREDU :
The Stewards of the Club at their
meeting held on 4th January, 2018 interviewed Trainer M. Narredu and
his Spokesman, Diwan Arun Nanda as also his two witnesses, Mr. Vinesh Naik and
Mr. Ravi Mane. The Stewards also heard App. M. Ayyar and his Spokesman, Mr. P.
Trevor, in the above connection and directed the Stipendiary Stewards to
conduct further enquiries in the matter.
The Stewards of the Club at their
meeting held on 31st January, 2018 considered the further evidence
obtained by the Stipendiary Stewards in the above enquiry. They interviewed
Trainer M. Narredu and his Spokesman, Mr. Suresh Advani. The Stewards also
heard App. M. Ayyar, Mr. Vinesh Naik and Mr. Ravi Mane.
The Stewards of the Club considered
the evidence on record before them including the Video Recording submitted by
Trainer M. Narredu as evidence at the meeting of the Stewards of the Club on 4th
January, 2018 and heard him/his Spokesmen, Diwan Arun Nanda and Mr. Suresh
Advani as also his two Witnesses viz. Mr. Vinesh Naik and Mr. Ravi Mane. The
Stewards also heard App. M. Ayyar/his Spokesman, Mr. P. Trevor as also the
Stipendiary Stewards. The Stewards also considered the evidence submitted by
App. M. Ayyar before the Stipendiary Stewards i.e the audio recording of a
telephonic conversation between Trainer M. Narredu’s Witness, Mr. Vinesh Naik
and App. M. Ayyar’s Brother wherein Mr. Vinesh Naik had narrated that Trainer
M. Narredu had beaten up Apprentice M. Ayyar a lot. Mr. Vinesh Naik and App. M.
Ayyar also stated during the enquiry that the Video Recording submitted by
Trainer M. Narredu as evidence, was done after the incident and not of the
incident as wrongly and misleadingly claimed by Trainer M. Narredu at the
earlier meeting before the Stewards on 4th January, 2018. The
Stewards also noted that the Video Recording submitted by Trainer M. Narredu
was not a single clip but broken up in four parts, giving the impression that
the same had been edited.
The Stewards of the Club having
considered the evidence on record and having heard all concerned, were not
satisfied with the explanation tendered by Trainer M. Narredu and held him
guilty of gross misconduct in terms of Rule 114 (b) of the Rules of Racing and
tendering false and misleading evidence before the Stewards. Having deliberated
the matter at length and taking an overall view, the Stewards of the Club
decided :-
a)
To suspend Trainer M. Narredu’s license for a period of six Race Days i.e.
w.e.f. 15th February, 2018 to 8th March, 2018 (both days
inclusive);
b)
To fine him a sum of Rs.1,00,000/-
c)
Further, he was severely cautioned that on a repetition of a similar
offence/misconduct in the future, the then body of the Stewards of the Club
will be justified in not granting him a Trainer’s license.
The Stewards of the Club were also not
satisfied with the explanation tendered by Mr. Vinesh Naik and held him guilty
of tendering false and misleading evidence before the Stewards on 4th
January, 2018. However, keeping in mind the circumstances and the fact that he
had subsequently come out with the truth and was very apologetic, the Stewards
took a lenient view and decided not to initiate any action against him in this
case. However, he was severely cautioned to be more careful in the future and
once again reminded of his responsibility towards the Club as he is a license
holder.

RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE DRIFT OF
ODDS ON AIRLIFT (C.S.JODHA) IN RACE NO.153 – THE CIRCLE OF BLISS PLATE (DIV.II)
RUN ON SUNDAY, 8TH OCTOBER, 2017 :
The Stewards of the Club at their
meeting held on 21st January, 2018 having deliberated the matter and
in light of the unavailability of the relevant telephone records and other
factors, decided to close this enquiry. However, the Stipendiary Stewards were
directed to write to Jockey C. S. Jodha that the Stewards noted, with a sense
of deep regret, that he was not co-operative and at times, obstructive in the
enquiry. While the Stewards would have been justified to draw adverse
inference from his conduct and consistent change of statements, in the overall
interest of the integrity of the enquiry process, they have refrained from
doing so. However, his approach and conduct leaves much to be desired and will
certainly be one of the factors to be considered by the Stewards while renewing
his license in the future.
