RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE, 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, AND THEREAFTER 10 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 8 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT AFTER THE WINNING POST GRADUALLY TAPERING DOWN TO ITS ORITINAL POINT AT 2200 METRES, 2 METRES AWAY AT 1500 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1400 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer Ivor Fernandes, permission was granted to Trainer Himmat Singh to saddle his charge DEVOTED in the 1st race, at his own (Trainer Ivor Fernandes’) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(88) – THE SPEARHEAD PLATE : (About) 2000 Metres – 6 Runners

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of DEVOTED (N. S. Parmar) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that MASTER SERGEANT had injuries to both eyes with lacrimation.

 

RACE NO.2(89) – THE RADICAL FORCE  PLATE: (About) 2400 Metres – 5 Runners

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey P. S. Chouhan, the rider of JUNE (Placed Second) against VULCAN (D. S. Daman, Placed First). The reason being, in the last 150 metres, VULCAN started coming on to him, tightening him for space and his whip hit his filly whereby she slowed down and this cost him a certain race.

 

After considering the submissions made by Jockey P. S. Chouhan and Jockey D. S. Daman who was accompanied by Tr. Adhirajsingh Jodha, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.

 

RACE NO.3(90) – THE DINKOO N.CHENOY TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners

 

At the request of Jockey Neeraj Rawal, the saddle on his mount GENEROUS LADY was adjusted at the starting gate.

 

At the start, MONEYWISE (App. S. Jaykumar, dr. 5) jumped inwards and made contact with SPEEDO (App. S. A. Amit, dr. 4) who in turn shifted in on to GULLFOSS (Nirmal Jodha, dr. 3).

 

After the race, MONEYWISE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that TOP WIZARD had injuries to both eyes with mild lacrimation.

 

After the race, GULLFOSS was trotted and found to be sound. WIND CRAFT had a Gum injury and NAUMEE had lost its right fore shoe.

 

RACE NO.4(91) – THE IDAR GOLD TROPHY (GR.3):(About) 2400 Metres – 4 Runners

 

AL SHAMSHEER (Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that after returning from the race, JACK FROST showed signs of distress in the Saddling Enclosure. The gelding was hosed with cold water and given first aid treatment after which he recovered and was sent to the stables.

 

RACE NO.5(92) – THE AN ACQUIRED TASTE PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

After being stalled, POWERHAUS (Dashrath Singh) rushed the front gates. The filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified her fit to race.

 

PATAGONIA (App. S. A. Amit) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.

 

At the start, ELIXIR (Neeraj Rawal, dr. 6) jumped outwards on to OPTIMUM (P. S. Chouhan, dr. 7).

 

Passing 900 metres, ELIXIR (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out thereby tightening OPTIMUM (P. S. Chouhan) and COLLEGIUM (A. Imran Khan) due to which OPTIMUM had to be checked.

 

Approaching 400 metres, OPTIMUM (P. S. Chouhan) was observed to have veered out and was steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey Santosh G. (HIGHLAND WOODS) reported that his mount leaned outwards despite his efforts. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (VICTORIANA) reported that he found his mount uncomfortable. The Sr. V.O. was requested to examine the filly and he reported that no abnormality was detected.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Imran Khan (COLLEGIUM) reported that his mount hung-in throughout the race. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, COLLEGIUM and VICTORIANA were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(93) – THE  CAPE KNIGHT PLATE (About) 1400 Metres – 9 Runners

 

At the start, GLORIOUS ANGEL (Vishal N. Bunde, dr. 3) jumped inwards thereby tightening GLORIOUS OPINION (App. S. A. Amit, dr. 2) and  IN MY DREAM (Suraj Narredu, dr. 1).

 

In the final stages of the race, UNCLE SCROOGE (N. S. Parmar) weakened thereby inconveniencing MERABELLA (S. G. Prasad).

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (AURODEN) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight despite his efforts. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in the past, Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race, before next accepting with him to race. 

 

After the race, GLORIOUS ANGEL was observed to have lost its left hind shoe.

 

RACE NO.7(94) – THE  AN ACQUIRED TASTE PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

At the start, DURHAM LAD (Nirmal Jodha, dr.5) jumped outwards and at the same time MAGICAL SCRIPT (Dashrath Singh, dr.6) jumped inwards and they made contact.

 

Approaching 200 metres, SUPERSTAR SUPREME (S. Mosin) shifted out thereby inconveniencing MAGICAL SCRIPT (Dashrath Singh) and thereafter shifted in. When questioned after the race, Jockey S. Mosin said that his mount maintained an erratic course in the straight. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, Jockey T S Jodha (DAKOTA) reported that his mount hung out throughout the race. Trainer Vinesh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, Jockey P. S. Chouhan (EMOTIONLESS) reported that his mount was running erratic throughout the race. Trainer C. D. Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey Akshay, the rider of COSTA BRAVA (Placed Second) against SUPERSTAR SUPREME (S. Mosin, Placed First). The reason being, on entering the straight when he started to make his run, SUPERSTAR SUPREME drifted out hence he switched his horse to the inside and when his horse was full of running, SUPERSTAR SUPREME shifted in and squeezed him along the rails thereby breaking the momentum of his horse, which cost him a certain race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that CLOUDBURST had left eye injury with mild lacrimation.

 

After the race, SUPERSTAR SUPREME, DAKOTA and EMOTIONLESS were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(95) – THE  SO PERFECT PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 11 Runners

 

At the start, EIGER’S TIGER (Dashrath Singh, dr.3) jumped outwards starting a chain reaction thereby tightening ROYAL ÉCLAIR (T. S. Jodha, dr.4) and inconveniencing DAUGHTEROFTHESUN (Yash Narredu, dr.6), BACKSTREET BAY (App. R. Ajinkya, dr.7) and MAN OF WORD (A. Imran Khan, dr.8).

 

Approaching 800 metres, SIMONA (Kishore KAdam) shifted in thereby inconveniencing ROYAL ÉCLAIR (T. S. Jodha).

 

Approaching 600 metres, IMPERIAL HERITAGE (App. S. A. Amit) shifted out on to SIMONA (Kishore kadam) who had to be steadied. App. S. A. Amit has been cautioned.

 

Approaching 300 metres, SHAKIN STEVENS (Prashant P. Dhebe) shifted in thereby tightening SIMONA (Kishore Kadam) along the rails. Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe has been cautioned.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that SIMONA had right eye injury – lacrimation with opacity in centre.

 

After the race, BABY FACE and SMOKEY ROSES were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th race, viz. TEMERITY, YANNA RASCALA, SUPERSTAR SUPREME and SAMARJEET, as also that of COLOMBIANA (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
