RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT
On a request from Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait, permission was granted to Trainer Dallas Todywalla to saddle his charges ROMANTIC EYES (1st race), KIMBERELLA & ROMANESQUE (3rd race) and HUZZAH’S GRACE (8th race), at his own (Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait’s) risk and responsibility.

In accordance with the Alcohol Testing Norms for the riders, Jockey Sunny Chinoy was subjected to an Alcohol Test wherein he was found positive for the presence of alcohol. In view of this, Jockey Sunny Chinoy was informed that should he apply for a Jockey’s license for the Season 2019/20 and if the same is granted to him, then his license shall stand suspended for 2 Race Days commencing from the first race day of Pune Meeting 2019. Further, he has been fined Rs.2,500/-. In view of the above, Trainer Narendra Lagad was permitted to declare Jockey Bhawani Singh on NATIVE PRINCE in the first race and Jockey S. S. Baria on SKYSURFER in the second race.

RACE NO.1(241) – THE TRAINERS TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 11
NATIVE PRINCE (Bhawani Singh) and CRAY CRAY (App.K.Pranil) jumped out slow losing about a distance and 5 lengths respectively. Trainers Narendra Lagad and A.M.Jadhav have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, FIRE FLAME (J. Chinoy, dr.9) jumped outwards and made contact with FOUNTAINHEAD (App. M. Ayyar, dr.11).
After the race, FIRE FLAME was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(242) – THE TRAINERS TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 11
Soon after the start, ARABIAN MUKTAR (Amyn Merchant) shifted in under urgings and carried OUTSTANDING (Neeraj Rawal) inwards. After questioning, Jockey Amyn Merchant has been severely reprimanded.
ROYAL ACE (App. A. S. Peter) was observed to have hung out from the 400 metres. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Passing 200 metres, ISINIT (App. K. Nazil) shifted in under urgings and bumped SKYSURFER (S. S. Baria) forcing it inwards. After questioning, App. K. Nazil has been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (DEMOCRAT) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, DEMOCRAT, ARABIAN MUKTAR and BLITZKRIEG were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(243) – THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 6
At the request of Trainer Mansoor Shah, POCO AZUL was examined at 1110 hours on 12/04/2019 and found to be sore by the left hind leg and had a sore back, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
The Sr.V.O. reported that FENCING had a fall near the starting gate and was bleeding profusely from both nostrils, hence the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s order. The mare was sent to the Equine Hospital for further management. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the mare from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
KIMBERELLA (Dashrath Singh) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.
After the race, CAESAR was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4(244) – THE STYLECRACKER MILLION: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 4
The Sr.V.O. reported that on the way to the Saddling Enclosure, PRINCESS ANNABEL got loose and injured herself on the right hind fetlock, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.5(245) – THE GOODBYE PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 11
There was a dual declaration of App.K.Nazil by Trainer Subhag Singh on GOLDEN ORCHID and by Trainer Narendra Lagad onTOP WIZARD. On questioning all concerned, App. K. Nazil confirmed that he had accepted to ride TOP WIZARD. As such, Trainer Subhag Singh was permitted to declare App.H.Zeeshan on GOLDEN ORCHID and he has been fined Rs.1,000/- for declaring a Jockey without his consent.
LOVELY FAIRY (Neeraj Rawal) played up in the stall. The mare was taken out and was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. and found to have a bleeding injury on the left fore cannon, as such, she was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer C.Rajendra has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race. Further, the trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the mare from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
VITESSE (App.A.S.Peter) was restless in the stall and was not allowing the rider to settle. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, WHISPERING QUEEN (App.Raghuveer Singh, dr.2) jumped inwards on to BEYOND TIME (Dashrath Singh, dr 1).
The saddle on HI HO SILVER (App. Vishal N. Bunde) was observed to have slipped during the race due to which App. Vishal N. Bunde was unable to ride out his mount to complete advantage. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.
After the race, TOP WIZARD and HI HO SILVER were trotted and found to be sound. TOP WIZARD had a cut injury at the right fore knee.
RACE NO.6(246) – THE RACING OFFICIALS TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 9
AME (P.Trevor) was restless in the stall not allowing the rider to settle. Tr.M.K.Jadhav has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, ROYSTON ROCK (App. H. Zeeshan, dr.3) shifted in on to ETERNAL DANCER (App. Niranjan S. Parmar, dr.2), who in turn shifted in and made contact with WABI SABI (App. Malam Singh, dr.1).
Passing 300 meters, CEZZANE (Bhawani Singh) hung out despite the Jockey’s efforts .Trainer A M Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
The Sr.V.O. reported that LOIRE stopped galloping about 100 metres before the winning post. On examination, the mare was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, AME was observed to have a gum injury.
RACE NO.7(247) – THE GODSPEED PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 11
COLLEGIUM (App.Raghuveer Singh) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified him fit to race. Tr.S.K.Sunderji has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, EXCELLENT SORRENTO (A. Sandesh, dr.5) jumped inwards and made contact with GENTILLESSE (App. S. A. Amit, dr.4).
Soon after the start, ODESSA (App. P. Vinod) shifted out and carried TIMELESS DEEDS (App. Aniket Karande) outwards. Thereafter, ODESSA was inclined to run out throughout the race. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting with him to race.
Approaching 200 meters, BAKHTAWAR (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out and went on to ARC SHINE (Amyn Merchant) causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
In the final stages of the race, App. S. A. Amit (GENTILLESSE) was observed to have lost his reins. On being questioned after the race, App. S. A. Amit stated that his reins slipped due to excess sweat. App. S. A. Amit has been cautioned.
After the race, ARC SHINE was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind cannon. BAKHTAWAR and TIMELESS DEEDS were found to be sound in the trot.
RACE NO.8(248) – THE GOODBYE PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 12
SAFFRON FLOWER (S.S.Baria) jumped out throwing its head thus losing about 2 lengths at the start.
At the start, DECCAN KING (App A.S.Peter, dr.3) jumped outwards and went on to SHIVALIK SKIES (Amyn Merchant, dr 4).
Passing 350 metres, COLOSSEUM (P. Trevor) shifted in and went across HEXAHEDRON (Neeraj Rawal) causing the latter to be checked. After the race, Jockey P. Trevor reported that his mount was running erratic. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
An enquiry has been initiated into the improved performance of LABURNUM and a report will be submitted.
After the race, COLOSSEUM and HUZZAH’S GRACE were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 8th race viz. KIMBERELLA, GALLANTRY, ROSPOMARE and LABURNUM, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
