RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES RUN AT THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
On a request from Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait, permission was granted to Trainer Dallas Todywallla to saddle his charges BENEVOLENCE (1st race), CAPRISCA & B FIFTY TWO (3rd race), HARMONY OF THE SEA (4th race) and SENSEX & SILVER CAP (5th race), at his own (Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(228) – THE M. D. PETIT PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 5
At the request of Trainer Zadmal Singh, ARRECIFE was examined at 1030 hours on 07/04/2019 and found to have swelling at the left fore fetlock, as such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the mare from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
On arrival at the start, KENNEDY (App.P.S.Kaviraj) and FANFARE (A.Sandesh) were examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified them fit to race.
Approaching the 600 Metres BRAZOS (App.K.Pranil) was held up for room and had to be steadied.
After the race, KENNEDY was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(229) – THE DIEGO RIVERA PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 8
On arrival at the start, GALLOPING GOLDMINE (A.Sandesh) was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified him fit to race.
At the start, GALLOPING GOLDMINE (A. Sandesh, dr.7) jumped inwards and made contact with ON VA DANSER (Dashrath Singh, dr.6), who in turn shifted in on to BEEMER (S. Zervan, dr.5) forcing it inwards due to which SIR RAMON (App.K.Nazil dr.4) had to be steadied.
Approaching 1000 metres, BEEMER (S. Zervan) shifted out and made contact with GALLOPING GOLDMINE (A. Sandesh) who had to be steadied. Jockey S. Zervan has been cautioned
After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (WIZARD OF STOCKS) reported that his mount was running green.
RACE NO.3(230) – THE MAHARAJA SIR HARISINGHJI TROPHY (GR.2): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 5 - NO REPORT
RACE NO.4(231) – THE BEHRAM A. ENGINEER TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10
On reaching starting gates, the surcingle used on ARABIAN FRIEND (Kunal Bunde) was observed to be loose. Further, as it had no provision to tighten the same, it was replaced with the surcingle at the gates. On inspection after the race, it was found that the elasticity of the surcingle was compromised, as such, Jockey Kunal Bunde has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
At the start, KILKARRY BRIDGE (App. A. S. Peter, dr.4) jumped outwards on to PRICELESSGIRL (App. M. Ayyar, dr.5).
At the start, EPIPHANY (P. Trevor, dr.6) jumped outwards on to STAR COMRADE (Bhawani Singh, dr.7) who had to be steadied.
After the race, PRICELESSGIRL was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.5(232) – THE KAZAKH PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 8
LORD COMMANDER was permitted to be withdrawn on compassionate grounds.
Trainer Narendra Lagad informed the office that he had inadvertently forgotten to declare the following equipment (Blinkers and Basket Bit) on his charge USTAD PEDRO. Further, he stated that the gelding was placed under a Stipendiary Stewards ban and he was advised to show his charge in a mock race which he did on 21st February 2019 and in the said mock race the gelding had sported the above mentioned equipments which helped in improving the behavior of his charge, hence he requested that the same may be permitted to be used on his charge. In view of the gelding having sported the said equipment during the mock race, the same was permitted to be used in this race However, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been fined Rs.2,000/- for the lapse on his part.
In the process of stalling, the bridle of SENSEX (App.R.Ajinkya) came off and the same was fixed in the stall.
After the race, App. K. Nazil (SUPER MARIO) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, App. P. S. Kaviraj (USTAD PEDRO) reported that his mount hung out despite his efforts. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its previous start, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures and to show his charge in two mock races to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting with him to race.
After the race, SAMURAI was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, SENSEX and SUPER MARIO were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(233) – THE BEJAN BHARUCHA PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 14
On arrival at the start, GODSWORD (App.M.Ayyar) was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified her fit to race.
Passing 600 metres, NAVIGATOR (Dashrath Singh) shifted in on to GODSWORD (App. M. Ayyar) forcing it inwards, due to which CRACKLIN’ ROSIE (Amyn Merchant) who was racing on its haunches, had to be checked and change course. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been fined Rs.2000/-
Passing 400 meters, GODSWORD (App. M Ayyar ) shifted out under use of the whip and went across FIRE FLAME (App Aniket Karande), who in turn went on to FINANCIER (App.H. Zeeshan). App. M Ayyar has been cautioned.
Approaching 200 meters, MAJESTICAL (App A Prakash ) shifted out and carried HIGHLAND WIND (Akshay), outwards due to which HEXAHEDRON (N S Parmar ) racing on its haunches had to be checked. App A Prakash has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, HEXAHEDRON was trotted and found to be sound. SIXTH EMPEROR had a gum injury.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 6th race viz. FANFARE, SERJEANT AT ARMS, EL COMANDANTE and SHE IS A SPY, as also that of CAPRISCA (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
