RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 10 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES RUN AT THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(23) –THE KANTHARA PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 8
Soon after the start, ROMANTIC WARRIOR (App. M.Ayyar) shifted in thereby tightening the field on its inside, due to which BRAVE (Dashrath Singh) and FURIOUS N’ FAST (App. K. Nazil) had to be checked. After questioning, App.M.Ayyar has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
The saddle on LOCARNO (App. H. Zeeshan) was observed to have slipped during the race, as such, Trainer Mansoor Shah has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.
After the race, CEZANNE was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore pastern. BRAVE was found to be sound in the trot.
RACE NO.2(24) – THE MASTER SHIFU PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 7
At the start, STAR BRIGHT (Neeraj Rawal, dr.1) jumped outwards and made contact with GNOSTIC EYES (App.K.Nazil, dr.2).
After the race, OTHELLO, STAR BRIGHT and GNOSTIC EYES were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(25) – THE ASTANA PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12
ARIZONA PIE (App.H.Zeeshan) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.
At the start, ALLEGRIA (App. A. S. Peter, dr.7) jumped outwards and went across GOLDEN DESTINY (Bhawani Singh, dr.8) who was slow to begin, and inconvenienced GRAPEVINE (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.9).
RACE NO.4(26) – THE ARISTOS PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres –Runners- 8
At the start, THEA’S PET (Hanumant Singh, dr.5 ) jumped out awkwardly throwing its head up and made contact with MIGHTY WARRIOR (Bhawani Singh, dr.8).
App. Vishal N. Bunde (MY PRECIOUS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. On being questioned after the race, App. Vishal N. Bunde stated that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight and the whip was used as a corrective measure, as such, no action has been initiated against him. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, KINGSMAN was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(27) – THE SARDAR H.S.BRAR MEMORIAL TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners- 7
Approaching 1400 metres, GLORIOUS EYES (S. Zervan) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing FOREST FAIRY (P. Trevor) who had to be steadied. Jockey S. Zervan has been cautioned.
After the race, GLORIOUS EYES was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, BRAINSTORM was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(28) – THE HALL OF FAMER TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 9
DIVINE GLORY (Akshay Gaikwad) refused to be stalled despite substantial efforts, as such, the filly was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Before the race, on being weighed out Jockey A. Imran Khan (BLAZING BAY) was unable to make the declared weight, as such, Trainer Karthik Ganapathy was permitted to declare P. S. Chouhan. Jockey A. Imran Khan has been fined Rs.2,000/- for failing to fulfill his riding commitment.
At the start, ROYAL CRYSTAL (Neeraj Rawal, dr.1) jumped outwards and went across POLARIS (Bhawani Singh, dr.2) who was marginally slow.
Soon after the start, GODS PLAN (A.Sandesh, dr.4) shifted in and made contact with DANDI MARCH (Dashrath Singh, dr.3).
Passing 100 metres, GODS PLAN (A.Sandesh) was held up for room and had to be steadied.
The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of the trainer, TOMMASO was scoped at the Club’s Equine Hospital after the race and no abnormality was detected
After the race, TOMMASO and EYE CANDY were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.7(29) – THE DASHMESH STUD A.C.ARDESHIR TROPHY (GR.3): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 8
At the request of Trainer P.Shroff, YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY was examined at 0845 hours on 30/11/2018 and found to be sore by the left fore leg, as such, the horse was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The horse has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
Passing 200 metres, NEW ENGLAND (Dashrath Singh) shifted in and went across CAPRISCA (Robbie Downey) forcing the latter to be checked and change course. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey Akshay (JACK FROST) reported loss of whip passing the 300 metres. This being his first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2018/19, no action has been initiated.
After the race, JACK FROST and CAPTAIN COURAGE were observed to have a cut injury at the left fore cannon.
RACE NO.8(30) –THE ASTANA PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12
COOL EYES (App.Raghuveer Singh) planted in the stall and took no part in the race. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.
At the start, ONE EYED PRINCESS (App.N.Nadeem) was observed to have lost its footing.
At the start, TEODOR MONTE (App.N.B.Kuldeep, dr.7) jumped outwards and made contact with BRONCO BILLI (App.Parbat Singh, dr.8).
Before passing the Red Marker, ZEEMO (App.Vishal N Bunde, dr.12) shifted in and went across CASABLANCA (App.A.S.Peter, dr.11) forcing the latter to be checked. Thereafter, ZEEMO further shifted in thereby inconveniencing TEODOR MONTE (App.N.B.Kuldeep). After questioning, App Vishal N.Bunde has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Passing 1000 metres, CASABLANCA (App.A.S.Peter) was observed to have shifted in thereby bumping and forcing TEODOR MONTE (App.N.B.Kuldeep) inwards, due to which TOP WIZARD (Hanumant Singh) was tightened for room and had to be checked and dropped back thereby inconveniencing ANDALUCIA (P.Trevor). On questioning, App.A.S.Peter stated that his mount was keen and in his effort to settle the filly, she suddenly shifted in despite his efforts. As the same was borne out in the video recording of the race, no action has been initiated against App.A.S.Peter. However, Trainer M.Narredu has been advised to be more prudent in his choice of riders.
Passing 350 metres, ZEEMO (App.Vishal N.Bunde) shifted in thereby tightening ONE EYED PRINCESS (App.N.Nadeem) along the rails. App.Vishal N Bunde has been cautioned.
ANDALUCIA (P.Trevor) was inclined outwards in the final stages of the race. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, BRONCO BILLI was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of the trainer, CASABLANCA was scoped at the Club’s Equine Hospital after the race and found to have respiratory infection.
After the race, ZEEMO was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind cannon. CASABLANCA and ANDALUCIA were found to be sound in the trot.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th race, viz. ROMANTIC WARRIOR, BOURBON PRINCESS, MY PRECIOUS, ROYAL CRYSTAL and CAMBRIDGE, as also that of CAPRISCA (7th race), and the special sample of KINGSMAN (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS :
RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RIDING OF APPRENTICE RAGHUVEER SINGH ON “SMART CHOICE” IN RACE NO.155 – THE VINAYAK TROPHY (DIV.I) RUN ON 14TH OCTOBER, 2018 :
Immediately after the race the Owner had lodged a verbal complaint that he was not satisfied with the riding of Apprentice Raghuveer Singh on SMART CHOICE.
The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer Vijay Kasbekar and Apprentice Raghuveer Singh on 20th October, 2018 in the above connection. Trainer Vijay Kasbekar said that he gave the instructions to App.Raghuveer Singh in the presence of the Stipendiary Steward, i.e. to take a good jump, sit in 2nd/3rd position and to do his best. When asked about his observation of the race, Trainer Vijay Kasbekar said that App.Raghuveer Singh had followed his instructions and he took no exception to the riding. He said that he was not aware that the owner had complained about the Jockey’s riding and only became aware of it after reading the Race Day Reports. When asked whether he had fancied the horse, Trainer Vijay Kasbekar said that considering that this was a tough field, he had fancied his horse in Place, however, he had told the Jockey to do his best and try to win the race.
The Chief Stipe said that immediately after the race the Owner complained to him that he was not satisfied with the riding of Apprentice Raghuveer Singh and asked him to have a look at this race. However, the owner subsequently called him again the next day to say that he did not mean to lodge a complaint but just wanted to voice his views.
Trainer Vijay Kasbekar said that he had also called up the owner the next day to ascertain at which stage he took exception to the Jockey’s riding and the owner told him the same thing i.e. he did not mean to lodge a complaint but just wanted to voice his views.
App.Raghuveer Singh confirmed the instructions and said that he had done his best and had used the whip 11 or 12 times for which he was penalized.
The video recording of the previous run of SMART CHOICE i.e. Race No.93 (winning race) was viewed.
Having heard the submissions made and having viewed the video recording of the race in question as also the horse’s previous winning race i.e. Race No.93, the Stipendiary Stewards were of the opinion that there was no need to pursue the Owner’s complaint.
