RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT AN AVERAGE WIDTH OF ABOUT 3 METRES IN THE 1200 METRES CHUTE AND AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT ROUND THE COURSE.

RACE NO.1(165) – THE MR GREEDY PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – 8 Runners

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of GNOSTIC EYES and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, PATHAN, GNOSTIC EYES and ROYAL ACE were trotted and found to be sound. PATHAN had an abrasion at the right hind fetlock.

RACE NO.2(166) – THE ASSESSED PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 15 Runners

At the request of Trainer Faisal A.Abbas, JIGAR was examined at the stables at 1100 hours on 26/10/2018 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg, as such the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

Soon after the start, BONAFIDE (App.A.S.Peter, dr.12) leaned out and carried WHITEWALKER (P.S.Chouhan, dr.13) outwards. Thereafter, GOOD THING (App.M.Ayyar, dr.14) shifted in under urgings thereby tightening WHITEWALKER (P.S.Chouhan), who in turn shifted in thereby inconveniencing BONAFIDE (App.A.S.Peter), ETERNAL DANCER (Kishore kadam) and ART O WAR (App.Aniket Karande). App. M.Ayyar has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

Soon after the start, JULIANO (App.Knazil, dr.7) shifted out on to RASHT (App.Parbat Singh, dr.8) forcing it outwards on to ART O WAR (App.Aniket Karande, dr.9).

Approaching 800 metres, JULIANO (App.K.Nazil) shifted in thereby tightening FABERGE (S.Zervan) who had to be steadied. App. K Nazil has been cautioned.

After the race, GOOD THING was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, RASHT and BONAFIDE (examined on 29/10/2018) were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(167) – THE SHAMU CHAVAN TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 14 Runners

At the start, ABRAXAS (App.P.S.Kaviraj, dr.6) jumped inwards and went ANNIVERSARY GIRL (C.Umesh) on to STEPPENWOLF (P.S.Chouhan, dr.4), who in turn shied inwards and had to be steadied. App.P.S.Kaviraj has been cautioned.

Soon after the start, MALAVIKA (Akshay Gaikward ) shifted in and went across ALPINE EXPRESS (App.A.S.Peter) and NEMBE GREEK (App.M.Ayyar), due to which BOUNTY QUEEN (D.S.Daman) who was racing on the haunches of NEMBE GREEK, had to be steadied.

Passing 300 metres, STEPPENWOLF (P.S.Chouhan) shifted out thereby taking the ground of CEZANNE (Akshay).

After the race, CHARLES BRIDGE, DEMOCRAT, STEPPENWOLF, ALPINE EXPRESS and ANNIVERSARY GIRL were trotted and found to be sound. CHARLES BRIDGE had a gum injury.

RACE NO.4(168) – THE STAR SHINE PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

There was a dual declaration of Jockey S.S.Baria by Trainer Mansoor Shah on TEODOR MONTE and by Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha on BEYOND TIME. After questioning all concerned, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha was permitted to declare Jockey S.S.Baria on BEYOND TIME and Trainer Mansoor Shah declared Jockey Kishore Kadam on TEODOR MONTE. In this connection, Jockey S.S.Baria has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting two rides in the same race.

In the process of stalling, BOMBSHELL (App.H.Zeeshan) swayed to one side due to which its saddle got displaced. Since all the other horses were stalled and the field was ready to be dispatched, BOMBSHELL was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order.

HYANNIS (B.Nikhil) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

Soon after the start, TEODOR MONTE (Kishore Kadam, dr.6) shifted out and at the same time OFFICER IN COMMAND (Dashrath Singh, dr.8) shifted in thereby bumping and tightening BEYOND TIMES (S.S.Baria, dr.7).

Thereafter, OFFICER IN COMMAND (Dashrath Singh) shifted in and went across HIGHLAND LASS (Neeraj Rawal) forcing the latter to be checked. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.

Approaching 600 metres, COLOSSEUM (Amyn Merchant ) leaned inwards thereby tightening ARABIA (S.Zervan) along the rails.

After the race, Jockey Akshay (RUFFO) reported that his mount was not striding out freely in the straight, as such he had eased up his mount. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the gelding and he reported that no abnormality was detected.

After the race, ARABIA and COLOSSEUM were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.5(169) – THE AQUAGUARD CHAMPIONSHIP R.W.I.T.C. LTD. GOLD CUP (GR.2): (About) 2000 Metres – 8 Runners

RAEES (Akshay Kumar) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

After being stalled, B FIFTY TWO (P.Trevor) kicked the rear gates. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified him fit to race.

WHOMAKESTHERULES (Neeraj Rawal) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

Jockey Akshay Kumar (RAEES) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

After the race, AUBURN was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(170) – THE PARTY WHIP PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 11 Runners

DIREWOLF (P.S.Chouhan) and XPONENTIAL (Amyn Merchant) jumped out slow losing about 3 lengths and 2 lengths respectively.

Passing 1200 metres, SACRED ROMAN (S.Zervan) shifted out and bumped FLAMING MARTINI (Neeraj Rawal) thereby momentarily unbalancing its rider. After questioning, Jockey S.Zervan has been suspended for one Race Day i.e. 18^th November, 2018 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

RACE NO.7(171) – THE SHAMU CHAVAN TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 14 Runners

On arrival at the start, DESERT PRIDE (P.Trevor) was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified the filly fit to race.

LILIBETH (App.Aniket Karande) jumped out throwing its head thus losing about 2 lengths at the start.

An objection was lodged by Jockey A.Sandesh, the rider of SPORTO (Placed Second) against SAFDAR (Bhawani Singh, placed First). The reason being, in the last 75 metres, SAFDAR came on to him very sharply causing him severe interference and causing his mount to stumble and if had not pulled up, he would have fallen off the horse and this had cost him a certain race.

After considering the submissions made by Jockey A.Sandesh as also Jockey Bhawani Singh who was accompanied by Trainer Rehanullah Khan, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held after the last race interviewed Jockey Bhawani Singh for careless riding on his mount SAFDAR in the above race at which time he accepted his guilt and apologized for the same. As such, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for 1 Race Day i.e. 18^th November, 2018 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

Soon after the start, SAFDAR (Bhawani Singh) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing SANDRA (S.Zervan) and ADELE (Santosh G). Jockey Bhawani Singh has been cautioned.

After the race, DESERT PRIDE, FLAMMEUS and SANDRA were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.8(172) – THE ASSESSED PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – 15 Runners

POINT THE STAR (App.P.S.Kaviraj) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

Soon after the start, SILVER CAP (Akshay Kumar, dr.9) shifted out and at the same time ARVAN (A.J.Nilesh, dr.11) shifted in thereby bumping and tightening GOLDEN EVE (App.M.Ayyar, dr.10).

Soon after the start, BOHEMIAN (App.D.R.Shubham, dr.2) shifted out under urgings thereby bumping WHISPERING QUEEN (App.A.S.Peter, dr.3), who in turn shifted out thereby tightening HIGHLAND WIND(Kishore Kadam, dr.4) and DIVINE SPARK (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.5) forcing them to be checked. After questioning, App. D.R.Shubham has been suspended of one Race Day i.e. 18^th November, 2018 (permitted to ride work/mock race).

After the race, ARVAN was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1^st, 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th race, viz. ORIANA, LETHAL STEPS, HYANNIS and RAEES, as also that of CAPRISCA (5^th race), and the special sample of TEODOR MONTE (4^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
