RACE NO.1(148) – THE VINAYAK TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners

Trainer Vinesh has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting with his charge ALPINE EXPRESS in this race while the mare was on Veterinary Ban. The mare was struck out at the Acceptance stage.

On arrival at the start, BIDSTONE HILL (Akshay) was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified the mare fit to race.

At the start, DIVINE POWER (App. Raghuveer Singh) was observed to have lost its footing and stumbled

At the start, PANARAEA (App. N. Nadeem, dr. 7) jumped outwards and at the same time HIGHLAND WIND (Kishore Kadam, dr.8) jumped inwards and the made contact. Thereafter, PANARAEA shifted in and made contact with MIGHTY WARRIOR (A. Imran Khan).

Passing 500 metres, due to a tightly packed field, MIGHTY WARRIOR (A.Imran Khan) was tightened for room and had to be steadied.

Approaching 400 metres, PANARAEA (App. N. Nadeem) shifted in thereby inconveniencing HIGHLAND WIND (Kishore Kadam). App. N. Nadeem has been cautioned.

On a complaint from the Owner and Trainer, an enquiry has been initiated into the riding of App.Raghuveer Singh on DIVINE POWER and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, KINGSTON HEATH was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, ROCK IN RIO was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, DIVINE POWER and BIDSTONE HILL were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.2(149) – THE PRUDENTIAL CHAMP TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 7 Runners

Passing 500 metres, ARABESQUE (S. Zervan) went across SALTBAE (Neeraj Rawal) who had to be checked. After questioning Jockey S. Zervan, he has been cautioned.

Approaching 400 metres, AHEARN (App. Raghuveer Singh) leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing ARABESQUE (S. Zervan).

After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (ASTOUNDING BAY) reported that his mount was running green.

RACE NO.3(150) – THE JIMMY UMRIGAR TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

Soon after the start, CHOSEN ONE (C. S. Jodha, dr.3) shifted in thereby tightening ARTISTA (Neeraj Rawal, dr.1) along the rails, forcing the latter to be checked and drop back. Jockey C.S.Jodha has been cautioned

Passing 400 metres, CHOSEN ONE (C. S. Jodha) shifted out thereby tightening and inconveniencing NAVIGATOR (App.S. A. Amit). Jockey C.S.Jodha has been fined Rs 2,000/-.

Near 300 metres, TIGER KINGDOM (P. S. Chouhan) was observed to show signs of discomfort, as such the Jockey pulled up his mount and dismounted.

The Sr.V.O. reported that TIGER KINGDOM stopped galloping at the 300 metres. On examination, the gelding was found to have swelling at the stifle on the left hind leg. The gelding was taken to the Equine Hospital for further examination. On ultra sonography, pelvis and spine fracture was observed. The gelding was euthanized on humane grounds after obtaining consent of the Trainer.

After the race Jockey T.S.Jodha (JETFIRE) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer A.M.Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

After the race, JETFIRE and OLD KINGDOM were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.4(151) – THE SECRET MEMORY TROPHY: (About) 2400 Metres – 10 Runners

At the start, SMART N NOBLE (A.Imran Khan, dr.2) jumped and shifted out thereby tightening BRAZOS (A.Sandesh dr.3).

Passing 600 metres, EXCELLENT ELLA (Yash Narredu) shifted out forcing BRAZOS (A. Sandesh) outwards and thereafter shifted in and went across LUCKY LUCIANO (P. Trevor) forcing the latter to be checked. Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned.

The Sr.V.O. reported that after finishing the race, on the way to the paddock SMART N NOBLE collapsed and died despite the first aid treatment.

RACE NO.5(152) – THE PUNE POLICE COMMISSIONER’S TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – 12 Runners

The Stipendiary Stewards are looking into the running and riding of STAR BRIGHT and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, ZANARA, MOUNT OLYMPUS and ADMO were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(153) – THE NOSHIR & DOLLY DHUNJIBHOY SPRINT MILLION (GR.3): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

Soon after the start, GOVERNOR GENERAL (A. Sandesh) shifted out under urgings thereby bumping and tightening HOLY SMOKE (S. Zervan) and ABBEY (Prashant P. Dhebe), forcing both the horses to be checked. After questioning Jockey A.Sandesh and not being satisfied with his explanation, the Stipendiary Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for one race day i.e. 18^th November, 2018 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

Passing 200 metrees, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (RUFFINA) shifted out under urgings thereby taking the ground of CONGRESSIONAL (Santosh G.) forcing the latter to be checked and drop back. After questioning Jockey Neeraj Rawal and not being satisfied with his explanation, the Stipendiary Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for one race day i.e. 18^th November, 2018 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

After the race, Jockey P. S. Chouhan (CAPTAIN COURAGE) reported that his mount hung out throughout the race despite his efforts. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, TIMELESS was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind bulb of heel and GOVERNOR GENERAL had a cut injury at the right fore bulb of heel. CAPTAIN COURAGE was found to be sound in the trot. ABBEY had lost its left fore shoe.

RACE NO.7(154) – THE PUNE DERBY (GR.1): (About) 2000 Metres – 7 Runners

Jockey P.Trevor (PIONEER) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence during the current Pune Meeting, he has been fined Rs.5,000/- .

After the race, TRULY EPIC was found to be sound in the trot.

RACE NO.8(155) – THE VINAYAK TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners

At the request of Trainer Altaf Hussain, MALAVIKA was examined at 0940 hours on 11/10/2018 and was found to have injury at the right shoulder and right knee, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with her to race.

App.Raghuveer Singh (SMART CHOICE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence during the current Pune Meeting, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

On a complaint from the Owner, an enquiry has been initiated into the riding of App.Raghuveer Singh on SMART CHOICE and a report will be submitted shortly.

The Sr.V.O. reported that after the race, one blood trickle was observed from the right nostril of LORD COMMANDER. In order to confirm whether the blood is coming from the lung or local injury, the gelding was scoped at the Equine Hospital and it was confirmed to be EIPH (Gr.IV). The gelding is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.9(156) – THE BEYOND TOMORROW TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 14 Runners

The Sr.V.O. reported that KISS FROM A ROSE was examined at the Saddling Enclosure and was found to be sore by the right hind leg, as such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

On the arrival at the start, SHEVCHENKO was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified the gelding fit to race.

At the start, NAME OF THE GAME (App.S.Joseph, dr.11), RISING CONCERT (App.Raghuveer Singh, dr.12) and ARAVAN (App.G.Amit, dr.13) were observed to have jostled, due to which App.G.Amit was unbalanced and was dislodged. The Stipendiary Stewards are looking at this incident and a report will be submitted shortly.

Jockey Hanumant Singh (KOMODO DRAGON) reported the loss of his whip near the 200 metres. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into this incident and submit a report shortly.

The Sr.V.O. reported that after finishing the race, while returning back KOMODO DRAGON collapsed and died near the Sampling Yard despite the first aid treatment.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1^st, 3^rd, 5^th, 6^th, 7^th and 8^th race, viz. SKYSURFER, STORMY ATLANTIC, TILL END OF TIME, RUFFINA, PIONEER and LORD COMMANDER, as also that of GOVERNOR GENERAL (6^th race) and KNOTTY ASH & DESPERADO (7^th race), and the special sample of KINGSTON HEATH & TRANSFORM (1^st race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
