RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM THE 1200 METRES CHUTE UP TO THE WINNING POST.  FOR THE RACES RUN AT THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT AT 1300 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND THEREAFTER EXTENDING TO 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(16)–  THE GREY AREA PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres – 11 Runners

 

WIZARD OF ODDS (App. K. Nazil) was declared to run with all four aluminum high heels but the gelding raced sporting all four aluminum shoes. Trainer S. Waheed has been fined Rs. 2,000/- for the lapse.

 

At the start, CLOUDBURST (C. Umesh, dr.8) jumped outwards and at the same time HUZZAH’S PHOENIX (P. Trevor, dr.10) jumped inwards thereby tightening DUSKY SIREN (T. S. Jodha, dr.9).

 

Passing 1200 metres, SHIVALIK SKIES (S. G. Prasad) was tightened for room and dropped back.

 

After the race, Apprentice K. Nazil (WIZARD OF ODDS) reported that at the start his mount jumped out awkwardly brushing against its starting stall, due to which he was unbalanced and lost his right stirrup, which he regained soon.

 

After the race, Jockey C. Umesh  (CLOUDBURST) reported the loss of whip passing 150 metres. This being his first instance of whip loss during the current Pune Meeting, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, DUSKY SIREN and HUZZAH’S PHOENIX were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(17) – THE D.K.ASHISH TROPHY (DIV.II) : (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

Passing 400 metres, Jockey P. Trevor (HONOURABLE EYES) shifted out thereby inconveniencing MONTECASINO (P. S. Chouhan) and carried BOURBON PRINCESS (C. S. Jodha) outwards on to ADONIJAH (N. S. Parmar). Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that SANDALPHON had left eye injury (melting corneal ulcer).

 

After the race, FIREWINGS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (18) – THE P.HADOW TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

 

Soon after the start, NEMBE GREEK (App. K. Nazil) shifted in thereby inconveniencing WILSHIRE (S. Zervan). Apprentice K. Nazil has been cautioned.

 

Passing 1000 metres, MAKINO (Dashrath Singh) shied outwards and went on to WILSHIRE (S. Zervan), who in turn shifted out on to SAWGRASS (Santosh G.) who had to be steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha (LADY SERGEANT) reported that his mount was inclined to run out in the straight. Trainer S. S. Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, App. K. Nazil (NEMBE GREEK) reported that his mount was inclined to run out in the straight. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, ADELINE was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Also, the mare was observed to have a cut injury at both hind inner bulb of heel. The mare is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, LADY SERGEANT and NEMBE GREEK were trotted and found to be sound. LADY SERGEANT had a cut injury at the right hind bulb of heel.

 

RACE NO.4(19) –  THE D.K.ASHISH TROPHY (DIV.I) : (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

At the request of Jockey S. Zervan, the saddle on his mount DIBABA was adjusted upon arrival at the start.

 

After being stalled, GRAND TENTON (Kishore Kadam) got restless in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race. 

 

At the start, MOUNT MCKINLEY (D. S. Daman, dr.3) jumped inwards and made contact with DIBABA (S. Zervan, dr.2).

 

Passing 200 metres, WALK ON BY (B. Nikhil) shifted in under the use of whip and went across BABY FACE (App. D. R. Shubham).  Jockey B. Nikhil has been cautioned.

 

ORION’S BELT (Dashrath Singh) was observed to have hung out in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Jockey P. Trevor (STRONG STROM) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that after the race GRAND TENTON was observed to have a poll injury. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with him to race.

 

After the race, ORION’S BELT, STRONG STORM and BABY FACE (examined on 28/07/2018) were trotted and found to be sound. ORION’S BELT had an injury at the left nostril.

 

RACE NO.5(20) –  THE SAINT EMILION PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

 

At the start, ART DECO (P. S. Chouhan, dr.6) jumped inwards on to KNIGHT’S QUEST (Dashrath Singh, dr. 5), who in turn shifted in on to MIGHTY WARRIOR (A. Imran Khan, dr. 4).

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (GLORIANA) reported that he found his mount not striding comfortably in the straight and was therefore unable to ride out. On viewing the replay, the mare was observed to have taken an awkward stride approaching the 200 metres, however, the mare was subjected to a vet check.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Imran Khan (MIGHTY WARRIOR) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, due to which ART DECO (P. S. Chouhan) was inconvenienced passing the 200 metres. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, KNIGHT’S QUEST was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that at the request of the Trainer, MIGHTY WARRIOR was examined at the stables in the morning on 28/07/2018 and found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, RIO DE JANERIO and GLORIANA were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(21) – THE  SCARLET EMPEROR PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 11 Runners

 

After being stalled, GOLD MAGIC (J. Chinoy) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race.  Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SO SPLENDED (C. Umesh, dr.7) jumped inwards and made contact with GOLD MAGIC (J. Chinoy dr.6), who in turn shifted in on to FOUNTAINHEAD (T. S. Jodha, dr.5), due to which the latter stumbled and thereby dropping back. 

 

Approaching 1000 metres, NOTTING HILL (S. Zervan) who was racing between HI HO SILVER (S. J. Sunil) and PONDAROSA (Neeraj Rawal), was tightened for room and had to be checked.

 

After the race, Jockey S. J. Sunil (HI HO SILVER) reported that his mount was inclined to run out throughout the race. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Jockey Yash Narredu (AWESOME ONE) has been fined Rs. 2,000/- for having raised his hand as a victory sign before passing the winning post.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that PONDAROSA had right eye injury (lacrimation and swelling on eyelids).

 

 RACE NO.7(22) – THE  FINE ARROW PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi, ADVANCE TO CONTACT was examined at the saddling area before the race and was found to have injured its left knee due to a fall whilst saddling, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.  The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with him to race.

 

After being stalled, SUDARSHAN CHAKRA (N. S. Parmar) ducked the front gate. As such, the gelding was withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s order. The Sr. V.O. reported that after loading, SUDARSHAN CHAKRA came out from the front gates and broke its femur. The gelding was euthanized on humane grounds after obtaining consent of the Trainer.

 

ROYAL ÉCLAIR (T. S. Jodha) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start STAR SCHOLAR (J. Chinoy, dr.6) jumped inwards thereby starting a chain reaction, due to which ROYAL ÉCLAIR (T. S. Jodha dr.2) who was marginally slow, had to be checked.

 

Soon after the start, BRAVE (P. Trevor dr.9) shifted in and went across the field before passing the red marker thereby inconveniencing STAR SCHOLAR (J. Chinoy) who had to be checked. Jockey P. Trevor has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

App. K. Nazil (I AM THE WAY) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the riding of BRAVE (P. Trevor) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, GOOD THING was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind pastern. ROYAL ÉCLAIR and BRAVE were found to be sound in the trot.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 4th and 6th race, viz. ANGELS TOUCH, MOUNT KCKINLEY and AWESOME ONE, and the special sample of ADELINE (3rd race) and STRONG STORM (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
