MUMBAI MEETING 2017/18, THIRTYSECOND DAY, SATURDAY, 14th APRIL, 2018.

 RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM  ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.  

 

RACE NO.1(278) –THE GLORY OF ANDHRA PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 8 

 

At the start, RICARDUS (Parbat Singh, dr. 6) jumped outwards and made contact with TALLY HO (Anikat Karande, dr. 7) and thereafter shifted inwards, as a result jostled with SZILMAN HONEY (T. S. Jodha, dr. dr. 5). App. Parbat Singh has been cautioned.  

 

Turning for home, TALLY HO (Anikat Karande) shifted in and made contact with SZILMAN HONEY (T. S. Jodha).

 

Approaching 400 metres, AQUARIUS (App. M. Ayyar) shifted in on to WESTERN LIGHTS (App. H. Zeeshan) who had to be checked. App M. Ayyar has been cautioned.

 

After the race, SZILMAN HONEY was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the gelding is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.2(279) – THE LEI PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 9

 

QUAIL HOLLOW (C. S. Jodha) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to give the colt more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, VELVET VIBES (R. Shelar, dr. 8) jumped inwards and made contact with RED FIRE (P.S. Chouhan, dr. 7).

 

Coming into the straight, SHE IS A SPY (Kishore Kadam) was observed to have maintained an erratic course, thereby inconveniencing VELVET VIBES (R. Shelar) and FELIX FELICIS (S. G. Prasad) passing the 200 metres. After the race, Jockey Kishore Kadam reported that his mount was green. Trainer S. S. Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

RACE NO.3(280) –THE LEI PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 9

 

FRIEZE (C. S. Jodha) was reluctant to be stalled.  STORMBORN (S. Zervan) and MYRCELLA (App. H. Zeeshan) played up after being stalled. Both the horses were taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified them fit to race. Trainers Altaf Hussain, S. K. Sunderji and Shazaan Shah have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey Amyn Merchant reported that his mount, NIGHT HAWK hung out in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, App H. Zeeshan reported that his mount, MYRCELLA hung out in the straight. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, Jockey Akshay (SO SPLENDID) reported the loss of whip passing the 150 metres. This being his first instance of whip loss during the current Mumbai Meeting, no action has been initiated against him.

 

After the race, SO SPLENDID was trotted and found to be sound. The gelding was found to have wolf tooth on either side.

 

RACE NO.4(281) –THE KAILASHPAT SINGHANIA TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres–Runners - 7

 

At the start, SUMMER RAYS (C. S. Jodha, dr. 1) jumped outwards and made contact with GANGNAM STYLE (Vishal N. Bunde, dr. 2).

 

From top of the straight Jockey P. S. Chouhan (KRAMER) was observed to have pulled up his mount. After the race, Jockey P. S. Chouhan reported that he heard some noise at the turn and found his horse’s action to be out of sync, as abundant caution he had eased up his mount.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of KRAMER (P. S. Chouhan) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, KRAMER and WILD FIRE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(282) –THE  VOLKSWAGEN RADIO ONE CUP: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 8

 

At the start, PHILADELPHIA (J. Chinoy, dr. 1) jumped outwards and made contact with ART DECO (App. P. Vinod, dr. 2).

 

At the start WABI SABI (S. A. Amit, dr.7) jumped outwards on to MAJESTICAL (Bhawani Singh, dr.8).

 

Soon after the start, POLYNEICES (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in thereby tightening FIREWINGS (Dashrath Singh), PHILADELPHIA (K. Nazil) and ART DECO (App. P. Vinod). After questioning, Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Approaching 1100 Metres, MAJESTICAL (Bhawani Singh) shifted in and carried WABI SABI (S. A. Amit) inwards on to ROYAL CLASSIC (Hindu Singh) who had to be checked. Thereafter, approaching the 1000 metres, MAJESTICAL (Bhawani Singh) further shifted in thereby inconveniencing FIREWINGS (Dashrath Singh) and KNIGHT’S QUEST (J. Chenoy). After questioning, Jockey Bhawani Singh has been fined Rs.1,000/-.

 

After the race, MAJESTICAL and ART DECO were observed to have broken a blood vessel. Both the horses are not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, KNIGHT’S QUEST was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that at the request of the Trainer, POLYNEICES was scoped at the Equine Hospital after the race and found to be EIPH (Gr.III). The gelding is not to race for the stipulated period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ART DECO and ROYAL CLASSIC were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(283) –THE  CLASSIC JEWEL PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 8

 

At the start, GRAND TENTON (A. Sandesh, dr. 3) jumped inwards on to EBONY (S. Zervan, dr. 2).

 

Passing the 350 metres, GRAND TENTON (A. Sandesh) shifted it thereby inconveniencing MY PRECIOUS (App. M. Ayyar). Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh (ARRECIFE) reported that his mount was shying away from the horses and had to be steadied. Trainer Zadmal Singh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, Jockey S. Zervan (EBONY) reported that his mount felt uncomfortable in the straight.

 

After the race, TIMELESS DEEDS, EBONY, ARRECIFE, BAKHTAWAR and MY PRECIOUS (examined on 15/04/2018) were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 3rd and 6th race, viz. ROSE GOLD, FRIEZE and GRAND TENTON, and the special sample of KRAMER (4th race),  were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
