 EVENING RACING

RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES  AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 3 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

RACE NO.1(22) –THE ASTANA PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 5 

 

UNCLE SCROOGE (N. S. Parmar) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

From the 400 metres, TIMELESS (C. S. Jodha) was inclined to run out and passing the 50 metres drifted out and went across IN MY DREAM (Suraj Narredu). After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (FROSTY) reported that his mount was inclined to run out in the straight. Trainer Vishal Gaikwad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, UNFORGETTABLE YOU, IN MY DREAM, UNCLE SCROOGE and TIMELESS were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(23) – THE PROLETARIAN PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 7

 

At the start, ZANZIBAAR (A. Imran Khan, dr.1) jumped outwards and made contact with HARMONY (Dashrath Singh, dr.2).

 

Passing 300 metres, SILKEN EYES (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out on to SENSEX (T. S. Jodha).

 

Approaching 200 metres, ZANZIBAAR (A. Imran Khan) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing SENSEX (T. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied.

 

RACE NO.3(24) –THE J.V.SHUKLA – ASHWAMITRA TROPHY:(About) 1400 Metres – Runners- 15 

 

At the start, GODSENT (Sandeep Jadhav) veered out and was steadied.

 

At the start, CELESTIAL LIGHT (P. Trevor, dr.7) jumped outwards and made contact with VITESSE (App. K. Nazil, dr.8).

 

Passing 650 metres, App. H. Zeeshan (PASS THE GLORY) was observed to have maintained an erratic course thereby inconveniencing CELESTIAL LIGHT (P. Trevor) along the rails.  App. H. Zeeshan has been cautioned.

 

Passing 200 metres, JULIANO (App. S. A. Amit) shifted in on to FANTASIA (C. S. Jodha).

 

After the race, Jockey Sandeep Jadhav (GODSENT) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race. Trainer Vijay Kasbekar has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, COLLEGIUM was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(25) – THE MAYOR’S TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 9 

 

After being stalled, THE CIVILIAN (Kishore Kadam) rushed the front gates. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

Approaching 300 metres, TRIPLE THREAT (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted in thereby inconveniencing HIDDEN SOUL (T. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied. App. H. Zeeshan has been severely reprimanded

 

After the race, FLAG FLYING was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, VICE ADMIRAL and CYCLONE were trotted and found to be sound. THE CIVILIAN had a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.5(26) – THE SONALIKA PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 12 

 

After being stalled, ASAHI (App. Raj Pawar) hooked one of its hind leg on the side platform. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race. After being re-stalled, ASAHI behaved in a similar manner, as such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

EAGLE SPIRIT (T. S. Jodha) jumped out slow losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing 450 metres, SAFFRON FLOWER (Nirmal Jodha) was observed to have shifted out thereby inconveniencing ARC OF PASSION (App. S. J. Sunil) who had to be steadied. On questioning after the race, Jockey Nirmal Jodha stated that his mount was erratic and he was unable to steady her. Trainer Magansingh P. Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

From the 350 metres, ROYAL ACE (S. G. Prasad) was observed to have drifted out under the use of whip thereby carrying ALYATIES (P. Trevor) outwards. After questioning Jockey S. G. Prasad and not being satisfied with his explanation, he has been fined Rs.2,000/- for persisting to use the whip from the right despite his mount shifting out.

 

Passing 300 metres TALL STORY (App. Raguveer Singh) was observed to have drifted out and raced on the extreme outside. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, Jockey T. S. Jodha (EAGLE SPIRIT) reported that he had lost his whip at the start. The Stipendiary Stewards would be looking into this incident and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, ROYAL ACE, TALL STORY and ALYATIES (examined on 01/12/2017) were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(27) – THE KANTHARA PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 13

 

Soon after the start, LOCARNO (App. M. Ayyar, dr.7) shifted in under urgings thereby starting a chain reaction, due to which ZOOM ZOOM (Kisore Kadam, dr.6), TOP WIZARD (App. N. B. Kuldeep, dr.5),  SAMURAI (App. S. Jaykumar, dr.4), WAY AHEAD (A. Imran Khan, dr.3) and NAME OF THE GAME (D. A. Naik, dr.2) were tightened and had to be checked. After questioning App. M. Ayyar and not being satisfied with his explanation, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards are looking into the inconsistent performance of DIVINE SOLITAIRE and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, SUPER ICON and WINDS OF CHANGE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(28) – THE SONALIKA PLATE  (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 13 

 

At the request of Trainer Arif Patel, FOREVER FREE was examined at 1340 hours on 30/11/2017 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

KOMODO DRAGON was declared to run with bandages on all four legs but the gelding raced with bandages only on both fore legs. Trainer H. J. Antia has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.

 

At the start, STARR VERDICT (N. S. Parmar, dr.8) jumped outwards thereby tightening GOLDEN ORCHID (App. S. J. Sunil, dr.9) and SKYSURFER (App. N. B. Kuldeep, dr.10).

 

Passing 300 metres, BEE QUIRKY (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in on to ISINIT (Satish Nayak) who had to be checked. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the improved performance of ROYAL CLASSIC and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, JACK DAN was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 3rd and 5th race, viz. SELFIE STAR, LADY IN RED and UNTITLED, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:

 

RACE NO.6(13) – THE GREAT GUNS PLATE (DIV.I): (ABOUT) 1400 METRES RUN ON 24th NOVEMBER 2017

 

Trainer Nirad Karanjawalla was fined 2,000/- for declaring incorrect shoeing on his charge JEENA wherein the mare was declared to have Steel shoes on all four legs but ran with Aluminium shoes on all four legs.

 

Subsequently Trainer Nirad Karanjawala pointed out that there was no change in shoeing made by him in respect of his charge JEENA and that the same was due to a clerical error on part of the office. As such the above mentioned fine has been rescinded.

  

 

ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “GOLDSMITH” IN RACE NO. 14 – THE GREAT GUNS PLATE (DIV.II) RUN ON 24th NOVEMBER 2017 

 

After having viewed the replay of the above mentioned race, it was decided that no action was called for in the matter. As such the enquiry has been closed.
