RACE NO.1(188) - THE SHAMU CHAVAN TROPHY (DIV.III): (About) 1200 Metres - 13 Runners
SAIL PAST (App. N. B. Kuldeep) and SALVATORE MUNDI (S. Sunil) jumped out slow losing about 1 length and 2 lengths respectively.
VOULEZ VOUS (Dashrath Singh) jumped out slow losing about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Passing the 1000 metres, JULIANO (App. S. A. Amit) shifted in due to which WINDS OF CHANGE (Sandeep Jadhav) shied inwards thereby inconveniencing ALOHA (C. S. Jodha), KALINA (R. Shelar)and DECCAN KING (App. M. Ayyar). App. S. A. Amit has been cautioned.
After the race, SALVATORE MUNDI, VOULEZ VOUS and DECCAN KING were trotted and found to be sound. SALVATORE MUNDI had an abrasion at the left hind fetlock.
RACE NO.2(189) - THE CLASSIC ROCK PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1600 Metres - 12 Runners
At the start, STAR SCHOLAR (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr. 3) jumped outwards and made contact with WILSHIRE (C. S. Jodha, dr. 4).
Soon after the start, UNTITLED (App. M. Ayyar) shifted in, went across WILSHIRE (C. S. Jodha) and inconvenienced STAR SCHOLAR (Prashant P. Dhebe) and STAR WITNESS (N. B. Kuldeep). Apprentice M. Ayyar has been cautioned.
Approaching the 1300 Metres, STAR SCHOLAR (Prashant P. Dhebe) and WILSHIRE (C. S. Jodha) were observed to have jostled.
Passing the 300 metres, CRISTO BOSS (Amyn Merchant) shifted out at the same time ROYAL ECLAIR (T. S. Jodha) shifted in thereby tightening KOMANDANT (J. Chinoy). After questioning both the Jockey’s, Jockey Amyn Merchant has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Jockey T. S. Jodha (ROYAL ECLAIR) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit this being his first offence, Jockey T. S. Jodha has been fined Rs. 3,000/-.
After the race, TOMAHAWK was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, LOVELY FAIRY and STAR WITNESS were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(190) – THE DEMOCRATICUS PLATE : (About) 2000 Metres - 17 Runners
At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, DAZZLING EYES was examined at 1000 hours on 29/10/2017 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
ABBEY ROAD (App. S. A. Amit) jumped out slow losing about 3 lengths at the start.
Approaching the 600 metres, DIXIELAND (App. Parbat Singh) leaned inwards thereby tightening MACGYVER (App. R. Ajinkya) who had to check and drop back thereby inconveniencing GDANSK (A. Imran Khan), WHAT A NICE GIRL (S. Mosin), ABU AL BUKHOOSH (Bhawani Singh), WINDHOEK (B. Nikhil) and ABBEYROAD (App. S. A. Amit).
Approaching the 500 metres, ABU AL BUKHOOSH (Bhawani Singh) shifted out, at the same time WHAT A NICE GIRL (S. Mosin) shifted in thereby tightening PARADISE App. N. B. Kuldeep) racing between them.
Passing the 500 metres, WINDHOEK (B. Nikhil) shifted in thereby tightening ABBEYROAD (App. S. A. Amit) and MACGYVER (App. R. Ajinkya) who had to be steadied.
The saddle used on SILVER EDGE (App. K. Nazil) was observed to have shifted forward during the race. Trainer C. Rajendra has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.
Jockey A. Imran Khan was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount GDANSK. This being his third offence, he has been suspended for two race days w.e.f. 19th to 24th November, 2017.
After the race, Jockey Amyn Merchant (WIZARD OF ODDS) reported loss of whip at about 600 metres. This being his first offence, no action has been initiated.
The Sr. V.O. reported that LUCKY STRIKE was examined at the stables in the morning on 30/10/2017 and found to be sore by the left fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, DIXIELAND was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore cannon. The filly also had a gum injury. WHAT A NICE GIRL had an abrasion at the left hind fetlock.
RACE NO.4(191) – THE SHAMU CHAVAN TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres - 14 Runners
On the arrival at the start, SPONTANEOUS EDDIE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race.
After being stalled, TRAVEISO (App. S. Jaykumar) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race. On start, TRAVEISO took an awkward fly jump. In view of this and the gelding’s fractious behavior in his last start, Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in a mock race before next accepting with him to race.
DOLPHIN (Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Soon after the start, FLOWER DUST (App. M. Ayyar) shifted in and made contact with KOMODO DRAGON (App. K. Nazil). Thereafter, GRAPPA (App. S. A. Amit) shifted out and bumped KOMODO DRAGON (App. K. Nazil) who had to be steadied.
After the race, Jockey J. Chinoy (PHILADELPHIA) reported that he was tightened for room passing the 500 metres.
After the race, LILIBETH was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, GOOD THING was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind pastern. TOP WIZARD was found to be sound in the trot.
RACE NO.5(192) – THE CLASSIC ROCK PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1600 Metres - 13 Runners
Soon after the start, MASTER OF TRINITY (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in thereby bumping and tightening CELESTIAL LIGHT (Y. S. Srinath) who in turn shifted in and went onto VITESSE (App. M. Ayyar). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.
Passing the 1400 metres, COOL EYES (P. S. Chouhan) was hampered for room due to a tightly packed field.
After the race, App. S. A. Amit (OLLY BOY) reported that his mount jumped out tardily thereafter shifted out and had to be steadied.
After the race, IRISES and COOL EYES were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(193) – THE AQUAGUARD CHAMPIONSHIP R.W.I.T.C. LTD. GOLD CUP (GR.2): (About) 2000 Metres - 7 Runners
Passing the 300 metres, ASTER ROSE (Dashrath Singh) shifted in on to MEKONG DELTA (C. S. Jodha) who in turn shifted in tightening and inconveniencing GERMENICUS (A. Imran Khan). As Jockey Dashrath Singh reported that his mount hung in. Trainer Arjun Mangalorkar has been asked to take remedial measures.
Jockey Neeraj Rawal (COLOMBIANA) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. After the race, on questioning Jockey Neeraj Rawal stated that his mount hung-in in the straight and he had used the same as a corrective measure. As such no action has been initiated against the Jockey. However, Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the horse.
Consequent to Jockey Y. S. Srinath unable to draw the declared weight on B FIFTY TWO Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait was permitted to declare Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe in his place. Further Trainer Imitiaz A. Sait reported that he had declared Jockey Y. S. Srinath after having confirmed with him that he would be riding 1 kg. overweight. In view of this the stipendiary stewards would be looking into this matter and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, B FIFTY TWO was observed to have abrasions at the left hock.
RACE NO.7(194) – THE DAKSHIN MAHARASHTRA SUB-AREA CUP: (About) 1400 Metres– 13 Runners
ALMOST MAGICAL (Amyn Merchant) refused to be stalled despite substantial efforts, as such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
After being stalled, CAMBRIDGE (Neeraj Rawal) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race. JARAMA (App. S. A. Amit) and HIROHAMA (App. R. Ajinkya) jumped out slow losing about 6 lengths and 4 lengths respectively. Trainers P. Shroff, S. Waheed and B. Prakash have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, POWERHAUS (Dashrath Singh dr. 5) jumped inwards thereby starting a chain reaction due to which JIMBO (App. K. Nazil dr. 4) & SPIRIDON (App. D. S. Daman) were inconvenienced.
Passing the 700 metres, CAMBRIDGE (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in thereby tightening SPIRIDON (App. D. S. Daman) along the rails forcing the latter to be checked. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Passing the 500 metres, App. D. S. Daman (SPIRIDON) was observed to have lost his whip this being his first offence no action has been initiated.
After the race, POWERHAUS, GAZINO and SPIRIDON were trotted and found to be sound. POWERHAUS had a gum injury.
RACE NO.8(195) - THE MASOOM MASTER TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres - 17 Runners
At the request of Trainer Vinesh, SPIRIT OF OATH was examined at 1145 hours on 27/10/2017 and was found to be sore by the right hind leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
On the arrival at the start, Jockey Dashrath Singh (STORM STAR) reported that his mount was uncomfortable with the Blinkers used on her as they were flapping. The same was replaced from the Club’s equipment gear.
At the start, TEETEBORO (B. Nikhil, dr. 2) jumped inwards thereby tightening FINANCIER (Amyn Merchant, dr. 1).
At the start, STUNNER (P. S. Chouhan, dr. 8) jumped outwards, at the same time MALAVIKA (A. Imran Khan, dr. 11) shifted in thereby tightening KARAMEL (Sandeep Jadhav, dr. 9) and MINDING (Bhawani Singh dr. 10).
Soon after the start ARC SHINE (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing CRAY CRAY (App. S. A. Amit) and INDIGO (Altaf Sayyed). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Soon after the start, MY PRECIOUS (S. Sunil) shifted in thereby inconveniencing STAR ANISE (C. S. Jodha), STORM STAR (Dashrath Singh) and PATHAN (App. S. Jaykumar). Jockey S. Sunil has been cautioned.
Soon after the start, STUNNER (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in and went across MY PRECIOUS (S. Sunil) who had to check and change course thereby inconveniencing STORM STAR (Dashrath Singh), STAR ANISE (C. S. Jodha) and ARC SHINE (Neeraj Rawal). Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 600 metres, STORM STAR (Dashrath Singh) was inclined to run out and thereafter passing the 500 metres veered out despite the Jockey’s efforts and raced on the extreme outside. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures.
After the race, STAR ANISE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, KARAMEL was found to be sore by the right hind leg. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, GOLDEN TOWER and MINDING (examined on 30/10/2017) were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.9(196) - THE SHAMU CHAVAN TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres - 14 Runners
Approaching the 1000 metres, AIZEL (Amyn Merchant) shifted in thereby inconveniencing DEMOCRAT (T. S. Jodha) and KNIGHT’S QUEST (Dashrath Singh). Jockey Amyn Merchant has been cautioned.
SLAM DUNK (App. M. Ayyar) was observed to have drifted out in the straight. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to take remedial measures.
After the race, MONEYWISE was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the gelding is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, KNIGHT’S QUEST was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, LADY IN RED, RICH N RARE and WALK ON BY (examined on 30/10/2017) were trotted and found to be sound. WALK ON BY had lost its right fore shoe.
RACE NO.10(197) - THE CIELO REY PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres - 14 Runners
On the arrival at the start, BEDROOM EYES (Neeraj Rawal) and CAMOUFLAGED (C. S. Jodha) were examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O.) who certified them fit to race.
After being stalled, AURELIA (Santosh G.) played up in the stall. The filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified her fit to race. Trainer Nazak Chenoy has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Approaching the 100 metres, PANDEMONIUM (J. Chinoy) shifted in thereby inconveniencing PATAGONIA (Bhawani Singh) who had to be steadied. Jockey J. Chinoy has been cautioned.
Approaching the 200 metres CAPTAIN ROY (App. S. Jaykumar) shied inwards thereby inconveniencing SIA (A. Imran Khan) who had to be steadied. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to take remedial measures.
An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of CAMOUFLAGED (C. S. Jodha) and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, CAMOUFLAGED was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 6th, 8th, 9th and 10th race, viz. HARMONY, ASTER ROSE, STUNNER, SLAM DUNK and AURELIA, as also that of COLOMBIANA (6th race), and the special sample of VOULEZ VOUS (1st race), COOL EYES (5th race) and CAMOUFLAGED (10th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORT/S :
RE : INTERFERENCE CAUSED TO BY DEEP DIVER (APP.S.A.AMIT) TO BRYNHILL (SANTOSH G.) IN RACE NO.106 – THE GAMBLE FOR LOVE TROPHY - RUN ON 10th SEPTEMBER, 2017” :
The Stipendiary Stewards enquired into the above matter and having questioned App. S. A. Amit and having viewed the video recording of Race No.106, they were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by App. S. A. Amit and decided to suspend his Apprentice Jockey’s license for Two Race Days i.e. 19th November, 2017 to 24th November, 2017 (permitted to ride work/mock race) for careless riding on his mount DEEP DIVER. In that, approaching 700 metres DEEP DIVER shifted in thereby tightening BRYNHILL (Santosh G.) along the rails. Thereafter, DEEP DIVER maintained an erratic course thereby again inconveniencing BRYNHILL (Santosh G.).

RE :MERCY PETITION FROM JOCKEKY G. AMIT IN RESPECT OF THE SUSPENSION IMPOSED ON HIM W.E.F. 20/04/2017 TO 19/04/2018 – ENQUIRY INTO THE ALLEGED INVOLVEMENT OF JOCKEY AKSHAY GAINWAD AND JOCKEY G.AMIT IN BETTING AND PASSING ON STABLE INFORMATION TO PUNTERS FOR PERSONAL GAIN :
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 28th October, 2017 considered Mercy Petition dated 23rd October, 2017 from Jockey G. Amit in the above connection and having heard him and having deliberated the matter decided to modify the punishment as under :-
a) Jockey G. Amit is permitted to ride work with effect from 31st October, 2017;
b) He will be allowed to ride in races with effect from 1st February, 2018;
c) The balance period of 50 days punishment imposed on him, would be kept as a suspended sentence over the next three years i.e. if he was found guilty of a similar offence within the next three years commencing from 1st February, 2018, then the aforesaid suspended sentence of punishment of 50 days would immediately come into force and effect and which aforesaid punishment would be in addition to any other punishment which the Stewards of the Club may impose on him for any subsequent act of his as regards the aforesaid.

RE : ALLEGED ACCEPTANCE OF ILLEGAL RACE BETS BY MR. ARIF YUSUF BAIG AT THE PUNE RACE COURSE DURING MUMBAI/HYDERABAD RACES ON 25thDECEMBER, 2016:
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held at 11.30 am on Sunday, 29th October, 2017 have decided to exclude the under-mentioned person from the premises of the racecourse, Mumbai/Pune and all other places wherever the Rules of Racing of this Club are in force, with immediate effect i.e. from. 29/10/2017 till 28/10/2020 :-
