The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on 5th April, 2017 interviewed Trainer Sanjay Kolse and Jockey Santosh G. in the above connection.

The Stewards of the Club having considered the submissions made by them and having viewed the video of Race No.199 and the previous race of FIRENZE i.e. Race No.152, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Santosh G. and  held him guilty of unsatisfactory riding on FIRENZE.  In that, he was specifically instructed to sit in the front bunch. However, he made no effort to sit in the front bunch thereby riding contrary to the instructions and allowed the filly to drop back to the tail end of the field. Further, his statement that the filly had thrown her head up on her own accord was not borne out in the video recording wherein it was observed that the filly had thrown her head up under restrain as she was fighting for her head. The Stewards noted that the Trainer had also expressed his dissatisfaction with the riding. Taking an overall view, the Stewards of the Club decided that should Mr. Santosh G. apply for a Jockey’s license for the Season 2017/18, the same will be granted to him, however, his license shall stand suspended for Eight Race Days commencing from the first Race Day of the Pune Meeting 2017. (permitted to ride work/mock race).

Jockey Santosh G. was further informed that in future if he wished to submit written submissions, he must do so well in advance.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on 5th April, 2017 interviewed Trainer A. M. Jadhav and Jockey Akshay Gaikwad in the above connection.

The Stewards of the Club having considered the submissions made by them and having viewed the video of Race No.185, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Akshay Gaikwad and held him guilty of unsatisfactory riding on ZOOM ZOOM.  In that, entering the straight when he used the whip with the left hand, his mount shifted in and instead of changing your whip hand he again used the whip from the left aggravating the inward movement of the horse and thereafter changed his whip hand by which time you had lost valuable ground thereby placing his horse at a disadvantage, which possibly cost him the race. Therefore, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for Eight Race Days. This punishment will commence after you complete your suspension of Fifteen Months imposed on you for breach of Rule-101 (iii) & (iv) of the Rules of Racing.
