However, the same was not borne out from the video and also App.Parbat Singh was spoken to in this connection and he denied the statement made by Jockey R.Ajinkya.

Having heard the submissions and viewing the blow up of the incident of whip fall and keeping in mind that the whip had fallen at a crucial stage of the race, the matter was reported to the Stewards for such action as they deem fit.

RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE LOSS OF WHIP BY JOCKEY BHAWANI SINGH ON “ARAKAWAH” IN RACE NO.5 – THE ROTARIAN MUNJAL SHARAD SHAH MILLION - RUN ON 20TH NOVEMBER, 2016 :

When questioned regarding his instructions on ARAKAWAH in Race No.5, Jockey Bhawani Singh stated that he was first given instructions by the Owner to take a jump and settle the horse in 3rd/4th position and to do his best. He said that subsequently the Trainer gave him same instructions and also told him to canter the horse for half a furlong whilst proceeding to the start, however, the horse was reluctant on the way to the start. He said that he was drawn-5 and after the start, WIND CRAFT (Kishore Kadam, dr.7) came onto him whereby he had to check his mount due to which the whole field came in front of him. As such, he settled the horse behind and thereafter started pushing him and coming into the straight when he tried to pull out the whip, it slipped out of his hand. When asked whether he would have won the race if he had not lost the whip, Jockey Bhawani Singh said that in the last part the horse was tired and running all over the place.

The Stipendiary Stewards were not satisfied with the manner in which Jockey Bhawani Singh had lost the whip. However, having considered the submission made by Jockey Bhawani Singh and all concerned and having viewed the video of the incident of whip fall and keeping in mind that subsequently the horse ran twice and showed no performance, the Stipendiary Stewards decided to close the enquiry.

RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “FLY AWAY WITH ME” IN RACE NO.101 – THE RAO SAHEB D.K.PARKAR TROPHY – RUN ON 5TH JANUARY, 2017 :

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer S.S.Shah in the above connection. He stated that this was the first run of the gelding on the Mumbai track and he had instructed Jockey T.S.Jodha to take a good jump, sit comfortably and coming into the straight to do his best. He said that he was satisfied with the Jockey’s efforts in the straight and reiterated that the gelding lacks experience.

Jockey T. S. Jodha stated that he could not follow the instructions since the gelding had no initial speed due to which he found himself at the back of the field. The video of the race was viewed and it was pointed out to Jockey T.S.Jodha that coming into the straight he was positioned on the outside, however he chose to shift in which may have cost him some ground. Jockey T.S.Jodha explained that he shifted in since he saw an opening ahead. Further, he had niggled the gelding all the way and had done his best.

Having heard the submissions made and having viewed the race, the Stipendiary Stewards were not entirely satisfied with the riding efforts of Jockey T.S.Jodha. However, in view of the submissions made that this was the first run of the gelding on the Mumbai Track and he lacked in experience, no action was initiated in the matter and the enquiry has been kept open until such time the gelding runs again.
