RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 3 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 5 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
RACE NO.1(95) –THE AZIZ H.AHMEDBHOY TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 4
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (SHADOWFAX) reported that his mount was not striding out comfortably.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of SHADOWFAX and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, SHADOWFAX was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(96) – THE ALLFORFUN PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 7
At the request of Trainer Karthik Ganapathy, SOLO MISSION was examined at 0720 hours on 04/01/2017 and was found to have fever with urticaria. As such, the colt was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the colt from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
At the request of Jockey Suraj Narredu, the saddle on his mount ROTTERDAM was readjusted, however, the surcingle was not getting fixed, as such, the same was replaced with the Club’s gear.
At the start, PRETTY PEACH (Dashrath Singh, dr.5) jumped inwards and made contact with CHERISH THE MOMENT (Yash Narredu, dr. 4) who had to be steadied.
Soon after the start, GAZINO (J. Chinoy) was hesitant to stride out due to the close proximity of ROTTERDAM (Suraj Narredu) on his outside.
After the race, Jockey Suraj Narredu (ROTTERDAM) reported that his mount lugged out in the straight.
After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh (PRETTY PEACH) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight despite his efforts.
RACE NO.3(97) – THE ANMOL PREET PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 15
After being stalled, SANSA (App. Vishal N. Bunde) lashed out violently. The mare was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. and was observed to have sustained cut injury on the left stifle, cannon and right gaskin and was sore by the left hind leg. As such, SANSA was certified unfit to race and hence was withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. Further, the mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
RITZ (D. S. Daman) jumped out slow losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Passing 400 metres, EPSILON ORIONIS (N. S. Parmar) drifted out and had to be steadied.
Jockey Neeraj Rawal (CARE FREE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. However, since the same was used as a corrective measure, no action has been initiated.
After the race, EPSILON ORIONIS and CARE FREE were trotted and found to be sound. EPSILON ORIONIS had lost its right fore shoe.
RACE NO.4(98) – THE TIGER TOPS PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 12
BLAZING STEPS (Akshay Gaikwad) was restless in the gate and not allowing the rider to settle. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.
At the start, SPEEDO (App. Parbat Singh, dr.7) jumped inwards and made contact with NEW ENGLAND (J. E. Pereira, dr.6) who in turn shifted in and bumped SHAMANISM (R. Shelar, dr. 5).
At the start, PROMINENCE (S. J. Sunil, dr.2) jumped outwards thereby inconveniencing SUSSEX PRIDE (Shrikant Kamble, dr. 3) who was fractionally slow.
Soon after the start, SHINNING NOON (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in and went across ETERNAL DANCER (Shahrukh Khan). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.
Approaching 300 metres, PROMINENCE (S. J. Sunil) shifted out thereby inconveniencing SUSSEX PRIDE (Shrikant Kamble).
Passing 200 metres, SPEEDO (App. Parbat Singh) who was racing between NEW ENGLAND (J. E. Pereira) and ROMANTIC WARRIOR (S. Sunil), was tightened for room and had to be steadied.
Jockey S. Sunil (ROMANTIC WARRIOR) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. However, since the same was used as a corrective measure, no action has been initiated.
After the race, SHAMANISM was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, ROMANTIC WARRIOR was observed to have a clip injury at the right hind fetlock. SHINNING NOON was found to be sound in trot.
RACE NO.5(99) – THE BLUE HORIZON PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 11
At the start, GOLDEN ECLIPSE (D. S. Daman, dr.11) jumped inwards and at the same time DIBABA (S. J. Sunil, dr 9) jumped outwards thereby inconveniencing PETRONIUS (S. Zervan, dr.10).
At the start, NOBLE CHIEFTAIN (S. S. Baria, dr.7) jumped outwards and made contact with HONEY DEW (Neeraj Rawal, dr.8) and at the same time DIBABA (S. J. Sunil, dr. 9) shifted in, due to which HONEY DEW had to be checked.
Soon after the start, LACHLAN (R. Ajinkya) shifted out on to NOBLE CHIEFTAIN (S. S. Baria) who had to be checked.
Soon after the start, PETRONIUS (S.Zervan) shifted in and went across the field. Jockey S. Zervan has been cautioned.
Passing 400 metres, GOLDEN ECLIPSE (D. S. Daman) shifted out on to VOULEZ VOUS (App. S. A. Amit) who had to be steadied. Jockey D. S. Daman has been cautioned.
Passing 200 metres, PETRONIUS (S. Zervan) shifted out under pressure on to KOOKABURRA (T. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of DIBABA and a report will be submitted shortly.
The Sr. V.O. reported that at the behest of the trainer, HONEY DEW was scoped at the Equine Hospital after the race and was found to have suffered EIPH Grade-III. The filly is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, HONEY DEW, PETRONIUS and DIBABA were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(100) – THE ALLFORFUN PLATE (DIV.I): About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 9
MAGIC DUST (Bhawani Singh) and GLORIOSUS (C. S. Jodha) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths each at the start.
At the start, COLLEGIUM (S. Zervan, dr 6) jumped inwards thereby inconveniencing GLORIOSUS (C. S. Jodha, dr. 5).
At the start, PATAGONIA (Kishore Kadam, dr. 9) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.
Passing 700 metres, COLLEGIUM (S. Zervan) shifted in thereby inconveniencing TEXAS GOLD (J. Chinoy).
Approaching 500 metres, COLLEGIUM (S. Zervan) leaned inwards on to EXCELLENT HEART (Shrikant Kamble) who had to be steadied.
After the race, Jockey S. Zervan (COLLEGIUM) reported that his mount was running green.
After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh (MAGIC DUST) reported that his mount was running green.
RACE NO.7(101) – THE RAO SAHEB D.K.PARKAR TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 12
ORIENTAL RULE (App. S. A. Amit) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.
At the start, BAY OF LOVE (Amyn Merchant, dr.2) jumped inwards and made contact with GRAND VITESSE (App. K. Nazil, dr.1). Thereafter, GRAND VITESSE shifted out forcing BAY OF LOVE (Amyn Merchant) to go on to ROYAL CLASSIC (D. S. Daman, dr.3).
At the start, CICITALIA (G. Amit, dr. 7) jumped inwards and made contact with FLY AWAY WITH ME (T. S. Jodha, dr.6) who had to be steadied.
At the start, THUNDER DOWN UNDER (Suraj Narredu, dr. 5) jumped inwards and made contact with ABU AL BUKHOOSH (C. S. Jodha, dr. 4).
App. N. Nadeem (BEE QUIRKY) has been cautioned for repeatedly looking back during the race for no apparent reason.
After the race, BEE QUIRKY was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.8(102) – THE TIGER TOPS PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 11
After being stalled, FURIOSA (C. S. Jodha) played up and sat down awkwardly in the gates. The filly was taken out and as recommended by the Club’s Sr. V.O. she was withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Soon after the start, App. Vishal N. Bunde (ZADORA, dr.8) shifted in under urgings before the Red Marker thereby crowding the filed on his inside, due to which AME (T. S. Jodha, dr.7), ALPINE EXPRESS( App. H. Zeeshan, dr.5) and RIOT OF COLOURS (App. Raguveer Singh, dr.4) were tightened and had to be checked. After questioning, App. Vishal N. Bunde has been suspended w.e.f. 22nd January, 2017 to 4th February, 2017 for carless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).
Soon after the start, ROCK IN RIO (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.10) shifted in under urgings before the Red Marker thereby tightening the field on his inside, due to which AME (T. S. Jodha) and ALPINE EXPRESS (App. Raghuveer Singh) had to be checked. After questioning, Jockey Akshay Gaikwad has been suspended for 22nd January, 2017 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).
Soon after the start, BARYSHNIKOV (R. Ajinkya, dr.11) shifted in and went across ROCK IN RIO (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.10). Jockey R. Ajinkya has been cautioned.
Passing 800 metres, RIOT OF COLOURS (App. Raghuveer Singh) was observed to have veered out and had to be steadied.
Approaching 200 metres, ROCK IN RIO (Akshay Gaikwad) shifted in on to AINRA (N. S. Parmar) who had to be steadied. Jockey Akshay Gaikwad has been cautioned.
After the race, LOCARNO was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind fetlock and AME had a gum injury. ROCK IN RIO and ZADORA were found to be sound in trot.

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd, 4th, 7th and 8th race, viz. THE OTHER SONG, BENEFICIAL, MASTEROFBALANTRAE and MT TIANMEN, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS :
RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “GENEROUS LADY” IN RACE NO.151 – THE D.N.ZODGE PLATE (DIV.I) RUN ON 8th OCTOBER, 2016 :
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Thursday, 5th January, 2017 interviewed Jockey D. S. Daman in the above connection. The Stewards of the Club noted with displeasure that despite almost three months being lapsed since Jockey D. S. Daman was told to submit his itemized incoming and outgoing call details to the Stipendiary Stewards, he had failed to do so, due to which the Stipendiary Stewards have not been able to conclude the enquiry. Therefore, the Stewards of the Club decided to give Jockey D. S. Daman further time up to Thursday, 12th January, 2017 to submit his itemized incoming and outgoing call details to the Stipendiary Stewards, failing which his license shall stand suspended w.e.f. from Friday, 13th January, 2017 until such time that he submits the information requested by the Stipendiary Stewards in connection with this enquiry.
