RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED  4 METRES AWAY FROM  ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.  FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT AT 1200 AND 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(22) –THE SPRUNGLI PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 4 

 

Jockey Y. S. Srinath failed to fulfill his riding engagement on BULLRUN in this race. After questioning Jockey Y. S. Srinath and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

RACE NO.2(23) – THE MYSTICAL TROPHY : (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 4 – NO REPORT

          

RACE NO.3(24) – THE VALLABHDAS H.ADWALIA TROPHY : (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 9 

 

KOMANDANT (J. Chinoy) and FINEST MOMENT (Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths each at the start.

 

Passing 800 metres, NORMANDY (P. Trevor) shifted in thereby inconveniencing DIVINE MAGIC (Neeraj Rawal), forcing the latter to drop back on to FINEST MOMENT (Bhawani Singh).

 

Passing 200 metres, GLORIOUS HYMN (S. J. Sunil) shifted out under the use of whip. Jockey S. J. Sunil has been cautioned.

 

Passing 200 metres, SIMON SAYS (App. K. Nazil) shifted in and went across KOMANDANT (J. Chinoy) who had to be steadied. App. K. Nazil has been cautioned.

 

After the race, IRISES and SWEEP ASIDE were trotted and found to be sound. KOMANDANT had a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.4(25) – THE MAYOR’S TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 6 

 

Jockey J. Chinoy (CELTIC PRINCE) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for having used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

Jockey A. Sandesh (ROSELLA) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. On questioning, Jockey A. Sandesh stated that the filly was running erratic and he had used the whip as a corrective measure. As such, no action has been initiated against the Jockey. However, Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (COURTSHIP) reported that his mount was inclined to run out in the straight. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, COURTSHIP, ANVILL STAR and ROSELLA were trotted and found to be sound. COURTSHIP had a cut injury at the right hind pastern and CELTIC PRINCE had a cut injury at the right hind fetlock. ANVILL STAR had a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.5(26) – THE  AU PANACHE PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners- 7

 

VISION OF ROMANCE (Amyn Merchant) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to have sustained a cut injury at the right fore cannon. As such, VISION OF ROMANCE was certified unfit to race and hence was withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under the Starter’s Order and sent to the Equine Hospital by Horse Ambulance for further management. Trainer C. D. Katrak has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. Also, the trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, PHOENIX KNIGHT (S. Zervan, dr.5) jumped inwards thereby tightening and taking the ground of MONTE GRECO (P. Trevor, dr.4). On questioning, Jockey S. Zervan stated that his mount shifted in despite his efforts. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey N. S. Parmar (MINSTREL HEIGHTS) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for having used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, ROCK IN RIO was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MINSTREL HEIGHTS and PHOENIX KNIGHT were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(27) – THE FREE RADICAL PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 8 

 

ELSA (Shrikant Kamble) was fractious and refused to be stalled, as such, the filly was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, LUCKY STRIKE (App. Parbat Singh, dr.3) jumped inwards thereby inconveniencing GALTERO (Dashrath Singh, dr.2)

 

Passing 200 metres, HEDWIG (S. J. Sunil) and HOUSE OF COMMONS (A. Sandesh) were observed to have gradually shifted outwards under pressure.

 

RACE NO.7(28) – THE KIARA PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 11 

 

ASAHI (A. Sandesh) and CARE FREE (C. S. Jodha) were reluctant to be stalled. After being stalled, GOOD MEMORY (S. Mosin) played up. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainers Rehanullah Khan, Arif Patel and S. S. Shah have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, GOOD MEMORY (S. Mosin, dr.10) jumped outwards throwing its head thereby inconveniencing WINDS OF CHANGE (Vikram Jodha, dr.11)

 

Soon after the start, LAS SALINAS (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in on to BE COOL (App. S. Joseph) who in turn shifted in and inconvenienced ASAHI (A. Sandesh). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey A. Sandesh, the rider of ASAHI (Placed Second) against BAY OF LOVE (App. N. Nadeem, (Placed First). The reason being, in the last 400 metres BAY OF LOVE shifted out and touched him and App. N. Nadeem did not control his mount and continued to come on to him and in the last 20 metres, BAY OF LOVE came on to him whereby he had to stop riding or else he would have easily won this race.

 

After considering the submissions made by Jockey A. Sandesh and App. N. Nadeem who was accompanied by Trainer H. J. Antia, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.

 

In the above connection, App. N. Nadeem was asked to meet the Stewards for careless riding. Consideration of the matter was deferred.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (LAS SALINAS) reported that his mount showed signs of discomfort in the final stages of the race.

 

After the race, BAY OF LOVE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(29) – THE FREE RADICAL PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10

 

At the start, SPORTING SPIRIT (Dashrath Singh, dr.9) jumped outwards on to MISS SAIGON (D. S. Daman, dr.10).

 

Approaching 300 metres, SLAM DUNK (Hanumant Singh) drifted out. On questioning, the Jockey stated that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, RIDGEWOOD STAR was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SLAM DUNK was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th race, viz. HIGHLAND BREEZE, GLORIOUS HYMN, CELTIC PRINCE and MONTE GRECO, and the special sample of IRISES & SWEEP ASIDE (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

The report published earlier read “In the final stages of the race, COVERT ACTION (T. S. Jodha) shifted in on to DIABLO (App. K. Nazil) and was steadied. Thereafter, MARISKA (N. S. Parmar) shifted in and tightened COVERT ACTION T. S. Jodha) who in turn tightened DIABLO (App. K. Nazil). Jockey N. S. Parmar has been cautioned.”

 

The above report may please be read as under :

 

In the final stages of the race COVERT ACTION (T. S. Jodha) shifted in on to JUNE (J. Chinoy) and was steadied. Thereafter MARISKA (N. S. Parmar) shifted in thereby tightening COVERT ACTION (T. S. Jodha) who tightened JUNE (J. Chinoy). Jockey N. S. Parmar has been cautioned.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS :

 

MORNING TRACK WORK ON 1st DECEMBER, 2016:

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that after morning track work on 1st December, 2016 FORTITUDE was observed to have broken a blood vessel. The filly is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
