MUMBAI MEETING 2016/17, SECOND DAY, THURSDAY, 24th NOVEMBER, 2016.

RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED  2 METRES AWAY FROM  ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND THEREAFTER 5 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.  FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES. 

 

On a request from Trainer Mansoor Shah, permission was granted to Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi to saddle his charges GOLD STREAK (1st race), WESTERN LIGHTS (5th race) and CICITALIA & ALIEN (6th race), at his (Trainer Mansoor Shah’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, permission was granted to Trainer M. P. Jodha to saddle his charge MONZA (4th race) at his (Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(9) –THE ASTANA PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 7 

 

At the start, HORSE POWER (Sandeep Jadhav) jumped out throwing its head up.

 

Approaching 600 metres, Jockey D. S. Daman (RICH N RARE), in an effort to take the gap between GENEROUS LADY (G. Amit) and SCARLET PRINCE (P. Trevor), shifted in thereby inconveniencing SCARLET PRINCE. Jockey D. S. Daman has been cautioned.

 

Jockey G. Amit (GENEROUS LADY) was observed to have dropped his hands before passing the Winning Post. He has been cautioned to ride out his mounts past the post in the future.

 

After the race, HORSE POWER and RICH N RARE were trotted and found to be sound. GENEROUS LADY had a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.2(10) – THE ALGECIRAS PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 6

          

After the race, Jockey Suraj Narredu (FRIVOLOUS) reported that his mount was slow to begin and thereafter shifted outwards. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of FRIVOLOUS and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, PUGNACIOUS and FRIVOLOUS were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(11) – THE MAHARAJA SIR PRATAPSINGH GAEKWAD TROPHY : (About) 1400 Mts – Runners - 3 

 

At the start, TEMERITY (Neeraj Rawal) took a fly jump.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the poor performance of SKY MINE in this race and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, SKY MINE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(12) – THE STAR ADMIRAL PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 6 

 

THERE SHE GOES (App. K. Nazil) was fractious in the Saddling Enclosure and refused to be led out of the stall, as such, the mare was permitted to be withdrawn. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

After the race, Jockey J. Chinoy (ROYAL SAPPHIRE) reported that he had misjudged the Winning Post and had momentarily dropped his hands.

 

RACE NO.5(13) – THE  GRAND PASSION PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres –Runners- 8

 

Approaching t 400 metres, GREY FLANNEL (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out under urgings and made contact with LUCAS (Y. S. Srinath). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

After the race, ZINFANDELLE and GREY FLANNEL were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(14) – THE J.V.SHUKLA - ASHWAMITRA TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 8 

 

After the Declaration stage, Trainer Mansoor Shah informed that he had erroneously declared Jockey N. Rawal on his charge CICITALIA and requested that he be permitted to replace the declared Jockey with Neeraj Rawal. The said change was granted and Trainer Mansoor shah has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

At the start, DANCING PRINCE (Suraj Narredu, dr.4) jumped outwards and at the same time DESERT RAGE (G. Amit, dr.7) jumped inwards, due to which ALMOST MAGICAL (C. S. Jodha, dr.5) and CICITALIA (Neeraj Rawal, dr.6) were tightened and had to be checked.

 

Passing 1000 metres, SPARKLING EYES (P. Trevor) shifted out on to DESERT RAGE (G. Amit) who had to be steadied. Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.

 

Passing 100 metres, TURF DANCER (Santosh G.) shifted out under the use of the whip. Jockey Santosh G. has been cautioned for falling to take corrective measures and persisting with the use of whip from the right despite his mount shifting out.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (CICITALIA) reported that his mount ran erratic in the straight. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, DANCING PRINCE, SPARKLING EYES, ALMOST MAGICAL and CICITALIA were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(15) – THE GATEWAY OF INDIA PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 13 

 

AVAKRAZ (Kishore Kadam) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching 100 metres, AVAKRAZ (Kishore Kadam) shifted in under urgings thereby tightening MASTERMARKSMAN (App. Raghuveer Singh) along the rails and forcing him to be checked. Jockey Kishore Kadam has been cautioned.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 5th and 7th race, viz. WONDER STORY, LUCAS and JEENA, and the special sample of FRIVOLOUS (2nd race) and SKY MINE (3rd race),were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
