RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT.

 

On a request from Trainer Karthik G., permission was granted to Trainer Sanjay Kolse to saddle his charge SUPREME REGIME in the 2nd race, at his (Trainer Karthik G.’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer C. D. Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer S. Waheed to saddle his charges VISION OF ROMANCE (4th race), LILAC TIME (5th race), MELINDA (8th race) and BLAVATSKY (10th race), at his (Trainer C. D. Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer S. S. Attaollahi, permission was granted to Trainer P. Shroff to saddle his charge AZZURRO in the 8th race, at his (Trainer S. S. Attaollahi’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (196) – THE  HUGO PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres –9 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Magansingh P. Jodha, DAZZLE N DAZE was examined at 0820 hours on 22/10/2016 and was found to be sore by the left hind leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

WINDHOEK (S. J. Sunil) and SANSA (App. S. Jaykumar) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths and 3 lengths respectively.

 

RITZ (Dashrath Singh) jumped out slow, losing about 6 lengths at the start. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey R. Ajinkya (AEOLUS MAXIMUS) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, MORAG was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, AEOLUS MAXIMUS and AVAKRAZ were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (197) – THE DELHI RACE CLUB TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 7 Runners

 

After being stalled, NASCAR (App. Raghuveer Singh) kicked the rear gates. The filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified her fit to race.

 

Passing 200 metres, RENEE (P. Trevor) drifted out and went across MERCHANTOFVENICE (Kishore Kadam). On questioning, Jockey P. Trevor stated that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer Vishal Gaikwad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh (SUPREME REGIME) reported that his mount hung out throughout the race. Trainer Karthik G. has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that SUPREME REGIME was examined at the stables on 23/10/2016 and found to be sore by the left fore leg.  The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, NASCAR was observed to have an abrasion at the right hock. RENEE and MERCHANTOFVENICE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(198)  – THE CIELO REY PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

At the start, BRABOURNE (Suraj Narredu, dr.2) jumped outwards on to CAIELIN (C. S. Jodha, dr.3), who in turn went on to DOMINATION (A. Sandesh, dr.4) forcing him out and  at the same time LIPPE (T. S. Jodha, dr.5) shifted in and  bumped DOMINATION.

 

Approaching 1200 metres, CAIELIN (C. S. Jodha) shifted in thereby tightening DOMINATION (A. Sandesh) along the rails. Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that MASTERMARKSMAN was examined at the stables in the morning on 23/10/2016 and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (199) – THE DEMOCRATICUS PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 10 Runners

 

At the start, VISION OF ROMANCE (App. D. R. Shubham, dr.4) jumped inwards and made contact with VICTORIO (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.3).

 

Approaching 500 metres, VISION OF ROMANCE (App. D. R. Shubham) shifted in thereby tightening ROCK IN RIO (App. Raghuveer Singh) along the rails.

 

In the final stages of the race, VICTORIO (Akshay Gaikwad) shifted in thereby tightening VISION OF ROMANCE (App. D. R. Shubham) along the rails. Jockey Akshay Gaikwad has been cautioned.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of ROCK IN RIO and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, MAGNUM OPUS was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, VICTORIO was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, VISION OF ROMANCE was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind fetlock. ROCK IN RIO was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(200)  – THE SHAMU CHAVAN TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer M. K. Jadhav, AME was examined at 0725 hours on 20/10/2016 and was found to have painful swelling on the belly due to urticaria. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a Fitness Certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

FAST FUTURE (Shrikant Kamble) jumped out and lashed the front gate, thus losing about 7 lengths at the start. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, LUCKY STRIKE (T. S. Jodha, dr.10) jumped inwards on to MT TIANMEN (App. Parbat Singh, dr.9).

 

At the start, PADMAKOSA (N. B. Kuldeep, dr.4) jumped outwards and at the same time ARMANDO (B. Nikhil, dr.6) jumped inwards thereby inconveniencing THE GIVER (Sandeep Jadhav, dr.5) who was slow to begin.

 

Soon after the start, ARMANDO (B. Nikhil, dr.6) shifted out and went across LILAC TIME (Altaf Sayyed, dr.7) and at the same time MT TIANMEN (App. Parbat Singh, dr.9) shifted in thereby inconveniencing DIWALI LIGHTS (Vikram Jodha, dr. 8).

 

At about 100 metres after the start, LILAC TIME (Altaf Sayyed) shifted in and brushed the rails.

 

Approaching 500 metres, THE GIVER (Sandeep Jadhav) shifted in thereby tightening DIWALI LIGHTS (Vikram Jodha) and ARMANDO (B. Nikhil) along the rails. Jockey Sandeep Jadhav has been cautioned. 

 

After the race, LILAC TIME was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, HONEY DEW was trotted and found to be sound but having an abrasion at the left hind cannon. DIWALI LIGHTS had lost its right fore plate. LILAC TIME was found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.6(201)  – THE CIELO REY PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

As the start was effected, it was observed that only two gates opened, as such, a false start was declared. The horses who had jumped out were recalled. Also, the other horses which were stalled were unloaded. The Starting Gates were replaced and the horses were re-stalled.

 

Soon after the start, SHERLOCK (S. Zervan, dr.10) shifted in on to WINTER RENAISSANCE (J. Chinoy, dr.9) who had to be steadied. Jockey S. Zervan has been cautioned.

 

Soon after the start, FIREBOLT (Dashrath Singh, dr.1) shifted out and went across LOAFER (Vikram Jodha, dr.3) due to which the latter clipped his heels and stumbled. On questioning, Jockey Dashrath Singh stated that his mount had hung out despite his efforts. Trainer Narendera Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, LOAFER was observed to have an abrasion at the right hock and SHERLOCK had a cut injury at the right hind bulb of heel.

 

RACE NO.7(202) – THE TATTERSALLS MILLION: (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners

 

Soon after the start, THEMIS (P. Trevor) was observed to have lost his footing and stumbled.

 

About 100 metres after the start, SWEET MUSIC (Suraj Narredu) and GOD’S OWN (Dashrath Singh) were observed to have jostled, due to which the former had to be steadied.

 

Passing 800 metres, THEMIS (P. Trevor) shifted out on to CAMOUFLAGED (C. S. Jodha), who in turn shifted out and made contact with OH SO HOT (N. S. Parmar) who had to be steadied.

 

After the race, SWEET MUSIC was trotted and found to be sound.

 

OH SO HOT (N. S. Parmar) was placed fifth and THEMIS (P. Trevor) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.8(203) – THE  AQUAGUARD CHAMPIONSHIP R.W.I.T. C. LTD. GOLD CUP (GR.2): (About) 2000 Metres – 9 Runners

 

COLOMBIANA (Neeraj Rawal) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Passing 300 metres, COSTA DEL SOL (Suraj Narredu) and AZZURRO (P. Trevor) were observed to have jostled amongst themselves. Both the Jockeys have been cautioned.

 

After the race, MELINDA was observed to have a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.9(204) – THE  DEMOCRATICUS PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – 10 Runners

 

At the start, BIDSTONE HILL (App. S. A. Amit, dr.2) jumped inwards thereby inconveniencing JIMBO (S. Joseph, dr.).

 

Approaching 700 metres, ART DECO (J. Chinoy) shifted in thereby tightening BIDSTONE HILL (App. S. A. Amit) along the rails forcing the latter to be checked and drop back, due to which RIOT OF COLOURS (App. Raghuveer Singh) who was racing on his haunches, was inconvenienced.

 

An objection was lodged by Mr. Vinesh, Trainer of BIDSTONE HILL (App. S. A. Amit, Placed Fourth) against ART DECO (J. Chinoy, Placed Third). The reason being, after jump out, within 300 metres ART DECO gave his horse a bad check whereby the filly dropped back and then ran fourth and this incident cost him the third place.

 

After considering the submissions made by Trainer Vinesh as also the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.

 

The Stewards after the last race, interviewed Jockey J. Chinoy for careless riding on his mount ART DECO and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for one Race Day. The suspension will take effect on the first Race Day of the Mumbai Meeting 2016/17 (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

After the race, CICITALIA and SAFDAR were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.10(205) – THE  SHAMU CHAVAN TROPHY(DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 13 Runners

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that HYPOTHESIS had a fall in the Saddling enclosure, as such,  the mare was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

 

At the start HEDWIG (Kishore Kadam) jumped out awkwardly.

 

After the race, STORMY PRINCESS, ORIENTAL RULE and MY FREEDOM (examined on 23/10/2016) were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th race, viz. HARVEY, VICTORIO, MT TIANMEN, ELYSEE and COSTA DEL SOL, as also that of AZZURRO (8th race), and the special sample of BE BOLD (3rd race), HONEY DEW (5th race), HOUSE OF COMMONS (6th race) and ABBEY (9th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
